Few Moto GP podcasts tackle the real issues like the three intrepid hosts of The Greatest Motorcycling Podcast In The Universe. Sure, they're issues unrelated to Moto GP racing but that doesn't mean they're not real issues. Episode 138 is a fabulous example. The racing wasn't as spectacular as we might have hoped but the soap opera that is Moto GP always delivers drama whether it's on or off the track. Joel Kelso did the job on the track and the rest of the cast did their bit off the track with infighting galore as riders and teams jostle to sort out who will be going where next year. It might be the greatest 'We told You So' of all time. Nobody could have predicted Jorge Martin moving to Aprilia and Marc Marquez joining Ducati unless they were possessed. But Tug did. And so it was that Boris and Freido fired up the Gregorian chanting and performed an exorcism, right there in the studio, to drive out the spirits that have taken over Tug's brain. What do a white tiger, a Vegas casino act and Moto GP racing have in common? Nothing, obviously. But that doesn't stop our three intrepid analysts somehow weaving them together in one of the more bizarre opening narratives to an episode of the greatest motorcycling podcast in the universe. And from there, somehow, it goes downhill. Even though Boris kissed him last time they met in person Joel Kelso agreed to come back on the Moto PG pod but with one caveat: it had to be on Zoom. Smart lad. We don't yet have a nickname for him (feel free to make suggestions) but what a pleasure it was to chat with the popular and talented Sydneysider, Senna Agius. Senna heads to the Moto 2 World Championship in 2024 and somehow figured enduring an episode of Moto PG in the lead up would be good preparation. You need to make a lot of good decisions to get to the top tier of motorcycle racing but even the best have the odd stumble. Jacob Raulstone has done everything right in his young career to date which is why he will be riding in Moto 3 in 2024 and you/we won't be. Given that, we can forgive him his poor judgement in agreeing to be part of this Summer Sessions madness and hope he can make a speedy recovery to common sense in time for the new season.
