This week, we discuss STOPMOTION, a film that has been getting a lot of attention recently. This is Robert Morgan’s feature debut and incorporates live action with, you guessed it, stop-motion animation to tell feverish, weird tale about a filmmaker, he abusive mother and the hazy lines between reality and illusion. Also, I mispronounce author Brian Evenson’s name twice during the episode.

This week we turn our eyes to the work of Michele Soavi, one of Dario Argento’s proteges. His output is relatively small to The Maestro but he put our some interesting films. The Sect a.k.a The Devil’s Daughter, a.k.a. La Setta is a wild ride through a dream world. This 1991 film has it all: hipppies, Satanists, bikers and a typically Italian meandering storyline.

The age old debate over whether or not David Lynch makes horror movies rages on. Here a Necromaniacs we firmly say “Sometimes.” This week, the late 90’s classic Lost Highway is our focus, featuring awesome performances by Bill Pullman, Patricia Arquette, Robert Blake and Balthazar Getty, this is debatably one of Lynch’s most linear films.
