Welcome to the Pat’s Cavan Podcast Sport Special, the concluding episode of Season 2! In today’s episode we are joined by former Cavan and AFL player, Nicholas Walsh. Nicholas, a former St Pat’s student also had a stellar career with his club, Cavan Gaels, winning the famous St Pauls tournament Nicholas is currently living in Perth and has been a member of many AFL backroom teams such as St Kilda and the Giants. Nicholas entails us with stories of how he was selected for captain of u17 Internation Rules, how he was drafted, life down under and playing for the Breffni Men. We are also joined by Irish Volleyball star Gareth Gilmartin. Gareth, a native of Drumshambo Co. Leitrim, was a key player this season for UL. While only being 21, he has already captained his country at the highest level. Join us as he discusses how he got into volleyball, prematch meals and favourite court. Alongside Nicholas and Gareth, we interviewed Ireland capped and Queen’s Park Striker, Cillian Sheridan. Cillian has had a stellar career and has played in the Champions League alongside such figures as Ronaldo and Messi. Join us as he details us about how he got scouted, being capped for Ireland and much more. Finally we are joined by our retiring principal Mr Chris Rowley who we ask about his favourite memories in the school, and his plans for the future. Welcome back to part 2 of the 150th Year Anniversary Special. In today’s episode we are joined by 92 year old, former student Gerry McDonald. Tune in to hear him discuss live in the college in the 1940s. In contrast, current Prefect Jude McManus talks to us about his fondest memories over the last 6 years and why he chose St Pat’s. We are also joined by a variety of our school initiatives; Our Green Schools Committee, Tranisition Year Students - Past and Present and members of our Student Council. To finish off we have current Cavan hurler and Irish teacher Mr Carney as he discusses Irish identity in the world today. Good stuff

Welcome back to the Pat’s Cavan Podcast. Our fourth episode of this season is the first part of two special anniversary episodes as we celebrate the 150th year anniversary of the College. With Active Schools and Well-being Week currently taking place in the school, the Pats Cavan Podcast present a bonus episode which focuses on the well-being of young people. We will be talking to Ger Robinson of ‘Super Generation’ who chats about gaining leadership and learning skills at a young age. We follow that with a captivating interview with Jackie Fox, who’s daughter, Nicole, lost her life to suicide. She address the importance of mental health as well as talking about her fight against online bullying and the introduction of ‘Coco’s Law’.
