  • In this episode of the Road to Growth podcast, we are pleased to introduce you to Clay Hepler . He became a land investor out of necessity. This was never a side hustle for him. In 2022 his wife’s company went under the day before Thanksgiving - a company that paid the bills as he was building a multifamily real estate portfolio in Pittsburgh. And as he approached one of the most important years of our lives - having to pay for our wedding, his honeymoon, a new house, our daily lives and a newly purchased vacation rental property with a huge overhead staring us in the face, he had to make lots of money, very fast.

    Through land investing he was able to “build the plane on the way down,” as he and wife were plummeting toward what seemed like inevitable bankruptcy. He was able to pay for my life, and more - and set his family up for financial stability. Realizing financial stability and ultimately - financial freedom, is possible through land investing.

He is a futurist, a global thought leader in the future of finance and its impact on business and society. He was listed as a top 10 global influencer in the “Fintech Power50” list for 2021 and 2022. He is also a model train enthusiast.

    Emmanuel founded the research, publication and consulting house, TAB Global, in 1996. Through its platforms such as The Asian Banker, Wealth and Society, The Banking Academy and TAB Insights, Emmanuel has had extensive contact with leaders in banking and finance around the world.

    He has served, or is serving in advisory or consulting roles for various public or private sector institutions at any time and is a well regarded mentor and confidante in leadership circles.

    He won the Citibank Excellence in Business Journalism for Asia in 1999 for his work on the internet in banking. “The Asian Banker Summit” won the best finance conference from the Asian Conference and Summit Awards in 2012. He is sometimes interviewed on BBC, CNBC and Bloomberg.

    In his first book, “The Great Transition – the personalization of finance is here” published in September 2022, Emmanuel outlines how the banking industry will evolve from being focused on platform technologies to a level of personalization never seen before. He describes the roles of cryptocurrencies, blockchain, gaming and other technologies in this transition. The book was written to help disruptor technologies in finance chart their course.

    The book features forewords written by former congressman Barney Frank, the co-author of the Dodd-Frank Act legislations that regulates the financial industry in the US today and Richard Sandor, an innovator widely regarded as the “father of financial futures”.

    His writings are also based on his extensive travel to more than 110 countries, and counting. He posts regularly on his blog and is working towards his second book which is tentatively entitled “The Winning Civilization” and due for publication in 2024.

    As an entrepreneur, he was previously a member of the Entrepreneurs Organization (EO), a prestigious grouping of young business owners worldwide.

    Emmanuel was trained as a lawyer, has degrees from the National University of Singapore and the University of London, and attended a course on economics at Columbia University in New York. He travels widely and divides his time between Singapore, Beijing and New York.

  • In this episode of the Road to Growth podcast, we are pleased to introduce you to Rich Moyer. Rich started his career in the golf industry becoming a PGA Professional at 22. He realized he was on the wrong side of the counter so he got into sales which led him to starting his first business in 2014 at the age of 26. Rich grew this business quickly and sold it in February of 2017. In the summer of 2016, he opened a homemade ice cream shop with two of his best friends and they have expanded to 6 locations and are opening 3+ additional locations in 2024.

    After the sale of his first company Rich used some of the proceeds to open Hoppin' and most of it to invest in real estate. The first Hoppin' location opened December 2017, he then opened the second concept, Pinhouse, in August 2019 and third location, Hoppin', in March 2020. After the pandemic Rich and his team began the franchise process for Hoppin' and launched fully in September 2022. Since launching in September 2022 Hoppin' has secured 8 licenses between Dallas, TX, Fort Worth,TX, Nashville, TN, Franklin, TN, Matthews, NC, and Rock Hill, SC with a strong pipeline of candidates across the country. Rich also invests in commercial real estate, owns a media company and his wife owns Lovely Bride franchises in Miami, FL and Charlotte, NC. Rich and his wife welcomed their first child in August 2023

  • In this episode of the Road to Growth podcast, we are pleased to introduce you to Aidan Mehigan. Aidan is the Founder and CEO of Natterjack, a popular Irish whisky brand he grew from zero to an internationally recognized liquor brand in less than 5 years.

    Natterjack, currently sold in 16 U.S. states and 13 global markets, was recognized as the Best Irish Whiskey 2024 in The Whiskey Bible and has 7+ figure annual revenues. The journey getting there wasn't easy!

    In just a few short months, Jay raised $2,150,000 in private money. Despite initially cursing his banker, Jay now thanks him. Jay's unique system allows him to enjoy 7-figure profits year after year. He also has the freedom to work less than 10 hours per week in his real estate investing business by leveraging the power of automation.

    To fund the growth of his company in 2018, Aidan obtained a $940K+ convertible loan note. Then COVID-19 struck, and by the end of 2021, Natterjack had low cash reserves, international market sales were almost non-existent, and the Irish market was simply too small to sustain the business.

    To make matters worse, the convertible loan note holder also wanted their money, and Aidan couldn't pay it back. This resulted in a legal battle that ended with the court ruling in Aidan's favor, ending an attempted hostile acquisition and possible closure of Natterjack.
