This week I am joined by Canadian Olympian and 2:08 Marathoner Ben Preisner. Ben is a highly accomplished runner and I really enjoyed chatting to home about his running journey and the lessons and insights he has learned along the way. We chat about training through Covid, Solo 2:15's, His Tokyo Olympic experience and his chase for Paris. Ben is a smart guy with a lot of valuable take aways. I hope you enjoy the chat!
Oh, and then Shan and I chat about our training weeks. -
This week, I’m joined by my friend Matt James, a guy with a lot on his plate! (pun intended) We dive into his journey from collegiate football to his ongoing quest to break the 3:00 mark at the New York City Marathon. Along the way, we chat about his love for cookies, the rookie mistakes he’s made as a marathoner, and how his passion for the sport has grown not only through his successes but through his setbacks as well. I really enjoyed this chat and I hope you do to.
Oh, and after my chat with Matt stick around for training talks w/ Shanimal. -

This week on the podcast, I had the pleasure of chatting with Briana Scott. Bri’s journey is nothing short of inspiring—she started running in 2017, completed her first 5K in 2018, and fast forward six years, found herself representing Canada on the start line of the 2024 Paris Olympics in the 5000m. It’s an incredible story of perseverance and dedication.
We also have a training update with Shan and a preview of the Great Trek course.
Hope you enjoy the episode!

This week we have Justin Kent on the pod to chat all sorts of good stuff. Justin is a 2:13 marathoner, 62min 1/2 marathoner and all around great dude. We talk about the Olympic qualifying grind, dealing with injury, fatherhood and coaching. Lots of good stuff in there.
Then Shannon jumps on in and we talk about our training weeks and try to keep things civilized while we do it.
Thanks so much for tuning in and have a great week. -
Rob and Shan sat down for their weekly training recap and basically ended up talking about all sorts of running things for an hour or so and thus it became the entire show for this week.

Today Rob covers the last couple days of Olympic track and field (and roads), it was a tremendous competition and now he's quite sad that the games are over. Then Shan stops by for another training chat as they go over what they both got up to last week including Rob's bike race up Seymour mountain where he performed decently well but kinda acted like a dick along the way.

I just needed to talk about how amazing the competition on the Track at the Olympics has been, so here's my brain dump on that. I love track and field.
