How do you find manufacturers for your products? The short answer is Amazon and Alibaba. I hear you saying that sellers on Amazon and Alibaba are there to sell their products, not necessarily for partnering with you to create a new product.

Tune in to this episode to find out how crowdfunding works and what you need to get your product funded on crowdfunding sites, Kickstarter and Indiegogo.

One of the questions I get most: “How much does it cost to create a physical product?” As you may guess, there is no straight answer to this question. The cost depends on the type of the product. However, if you have a product idea in your mind, you’ll be able to come up with a ballpark figure after this episode.
A quick tip: In order to reduce the cost, work with freelancers instead of companies. Fiverr is a great website to find freelancers. Use this link for up to $100 free credit: createanewproduct.com/fiverr

I will quickly introduce myself and the podcast, then I will jump right into this episode’s topic which is about how to make a physical product. Let’s say you have a product idea but you don’t know where to get started. I created a 5-step process to bring a product idea to life. In the following episodes, I will explain these steps in detail.
For now, let’s see what these steps are in high-level:
STEP 1: Doing market research, drawing your idea on paper, and creating a non-functional amateur prototype STEP 2: Working with a freelancer to have 2D and 3D designs of your product STEP 3: Contacting Manufacturers and Making a Functional Prototype STEP 4: Acquiring funding on crowdfunding sites (Kickstarter, Indiegogo) STEP 5: Mass production and selling your product on Amazon Tune in this episode for more information about these steps! For an in-depth explanation of the product creation process and crowdfunding, check out my online course: createanewproduct.com
