Danielle Chumley, author of a new book series, “The Show Kid Series,” chats with us about her first book of the 6 book series, “Today I Get My Show Goat.” Danielle developed this book after encouraging her daughter to write one about 4-H and the experience. Her daughter wasn’t up for the task and so soon Danielle found herself dedicated to delivering a series that could truly encompass the 4-H experience for the children and the family too! Danielle discovered early on that there really was not anything like this available in the book market to help introduce children to the world of 4-H. This series is a great way to introduce 4-H into not just young children’s lives, but their family too. Her goal in writing this book series is to shed light on a program she believes doesn’t get as much spotlight as it should. She grew up in the 4-H world and loved that her children have continued on the legacy and learned valuable life lessons like responsibility, social skills, hard work, presentation, finances, and team work. Danielle shares her story of how her family and her passion for something turned her into an author of a 6 book series. http://www.fultonbooks.com/books/?book=today-i-get-my-show-goat https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbfXkt7pyXc https://www.amazon.com/dp/B097YNCR3X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_RBAZYGTVN2B4ZHHAQY12?fbclid=IwAR2GYR7MaqFOlmcRR0u3J0kI_CmIqPNsk7wgJRZq9uUU09L1FqnyXKNE1AM

Carrie takes the time to chat with me about life as a single mother after losing both of her husbands within a couple of years between. She covers topics such as talking about death with her 7 year old daughter to if she’ll ever date again and what that means for her and her daughter. Through this chat I learned that there is no one way to grieve. And just because you grieve one way in one season of your life, that doesn’t mean grief can be wrapped up in one category. She speaks about her Window Strong support group and how having someone to just listen and help navigate different seasons of grief has been a huge resource and blessing for her. For her and her daughter these are just chapters of their story and they will continue to look back, but keep moving forward to what God had in store for them. Below are some resources Carrie suggested : https://harmonyhill.churchcenter.com/groups/care-groups/triumph-grief-care-group [email protected] www.widowstrong.com

March 2020, most Mamas will forever remember this as the Spring break that never ended. A global pandemic, a virus, halted our world swiftly and without warning in the Spring of 2020 like nothing I think we have experienced in our lives before. While most Mamas were drowning in the uncertainty, two East Texas gals, Sarah and Britni, decided to write a women’s book of faith based lessons. “Lessons Learned in Limbo” deals with many topics us ladies deal with on the daily such as self doubt and anxiety. Britni and Sarah, took the time to speak with us about what motivated them to create this book, what they hope others will gain from it and what themselves have gained from it. If you are interested in purchasing their book you can get it locally from Moree to Love in Huntington, Texas or you can go online to Amazon and order it. *There are some sound issues with this podcast, but I think it’s nothing that can block a message from these 2 ladies, so bare with that and enjoy!

Boy meets world...we’ve all heard that saying, but for Mamas it’s a thing that most of us secretly dread. It’s a hard balance of guiding them and letting them learn the ropes of life. Here is the world according to my son, Cam.

This week my 2 oldest daughters and I sat down for ice cream and real talk about being a 14 year old girl in 2021. You’ll hear laundry going in the back, kids scurrying around, shuffling in the kitchen, and ya know real life happening all around us during this podcast. My hope is that above all you hear both of these girls raw and real as they speak their truth about life as they know it now. This is is raw and real and straight from recording to yall...no editing...and sometimes I think that’s the best way. Perfection is an illusion anyways right? (And it’s also end of school year and I felt my energy could better be spent somewhere else. ) So buckle is for life according to 2 very different 14 year old young ladies, I proudly call my daughters.
