“The Voice” is one of the two parts of the Uluru Statement from the Heart, which was released in 2017 from a convention of 250 Indigenous leaders. The implementation of “The Voice” part of the Uluru Statement is now (2023) underway in the form of a bill before the Australian parliament. On Saturday, 14 October 2023, Australians will vote on a single question to change the Constitution. The question will be about adding words into the Constitution about an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice. ---- This conversation between Dinnawhan, BJ, and Kris was intended as a bit of a bridge between two different ways-of-being that currently exist in Australia. As a person who comes from a culture shaped most heavily by the "colonialist" attitude, this conversation really did allow me to glimpse the world, and what is possible, from a profoundly different, and powerfully hopeful, perspective. ---- Other Links: A Conversation About the First Nations Voice in Parliament : https://medium.com/@medi-muse/response-to-andrew-wallace-mp-about-the-voice-in-parliament-7f8b217c3b3a Uluru Statement from the Heart: : https://ulurustatement.org/the-statement/view-the-statement/ The Unfinished Cubby Podcast : https://rss.com/podcasts/unfinishedcubby/ Unfinished Cubby Patreon : https://www.patreon.com/unfinishedcubby Episode Sponsor : https://cocreations.com.au/ --- Don't forget to vote on Saturday the 14th October!

In this awesome conversations with my personal trainer and professional body builder, Kurt Pennington, we cover everything from social media to the many health benefits of breathing through your nose. I didn't get the answer I was looking for on an easy weight loss program.
But Kurt did have some great answers for how to have determination and perseverance in working out, and in life.

The four "secrets" to determination (not motivation) :
have a "why"
make it routine (morning is king)
be proud, but unsatisfied (appreciate your achievements)
be present (one thing at a time) (a workout can be for a set time - it will end)

"I think the reason people conventionally started talking about work-life balance is because the amount of work that needs to be done, regardless as to if you are working for someone else in a job or working for yourself, far exceeds the number of hours available to do them."
Christine Parfitt, founder of Block & Table, talks with me and unpacks exactly what work-life balance means, and how to find it, especially if you have a busy mind that loves working on solving problems all the time.
