What stops the scroll in 2024? And how do we actually make our lives easier when it comes to our business and marketing when the landscape keeps shifting, our brains are literally being changed by smartphones, the internet, and social media, and attention and engagement are at an all-time low?
As two business consultants and coaches obsessed with content marketing, we are in regular inquiry and real-life client study about how to reach people when, in general, the people we’re trying to reach are overstimulated and overwhelmed by the amount of content they could be consuming at this point in the human existence. If we’re all on our devices filtering out what we want to read and doing it at lightning speed, how do we actually land with our audience? Hint: there’s value in making it easy.
Topics discussed in episode 2:
Creating an engaging content strategy with scroll stopping content that actually orients to the current digital moment
Making less work for our audience, our clients, and ourselves—rather than making more, how can we make it easier
The new online era in which graphics don’t need to be fancy. and short, concise, and minimal “wins”
The value of sharing your voices more than your aesthetic
Developing a strategy that is human-centered rather than internet-centered

Does the term “Magical Weirdo” resonate with you? Meet Chuck Copenspire (he/they), a queer, neurodivergent, anti-professional professional who helps non-traditional entrepreneurs succeed in the business world. Chuck and Brooke bond over their mutual dislike of Kajabi and discuss alternative platforms for people who are looking to get their businesses up and running.
Their conversation touches on the lack of resources for sex workers and the challenges they face in running their businesses safely, and delves into Chuck's experience of being "weird" as a business strategy. Chuck explains how being their authentic and unconventional self helped them stand out and connect with like-minded individuals, particularly fellow business owners.
They end their discussion with a conversation about the challenges of navigating marginalization online, the need for coping mechanisms, and the importance of laughter in absurd situations. Chuck dares listeners to “do just a tiny bit of it” if they have a big idea that they are scared to bring into the world.

Brooke shares the five things she does when she starts feeling like she needs to reinvent her business:
1. Follow your ideas and get curious about the specific details that are floating around in your mind.
2. Notice the overlaps between your new ideas and the things you are already doing.
3. Keep moving through the uncertainty and confusion that may arise during the process.
4. Focus on the one thing that you can put out there right now, and start.
5. Do not give in to the impulse to just try harder at things that you’re already doing.

If you are becoming your own worst boss, then tune in to this episode of the Rule Breaker Takeover. Emily Pantel, career coach and people and culture leader, discusses the concept of internal workplace culture and its impact on entrepreneurs and small business owners, and how individuals may carry toxic workplace cultural residue even when working for themselves.
Emily highlights behaviors entrepreneurs may exhibit that mimic unsupportive managers, and discusses how these behaviors are influenced by prevailing societal narratives surrounding success and productivity.
To foster a compassionate internal workplace culture, Emily suggests completing the stress cycle, which involves finding ways to process and move through stress physiologically. She also encourages entrepreneurs to be aware of their internal workplace culture, challenge unsupportive attitudes and behaviors, and align their work with their authentic selves.

In this Rule Breaker Takeover episode, Steff Gallante discusses her mission to disrupt societal views on self-care and mental health. As an Ayurveda yoga specialist and self-care coach, she incorporates various practices like yoga, meditation, and mindfulness to support individuals in their well-being.
Steff shares more about the seven types of rest, and why they are all important. She also highlights the need for blank space and reflection as transformative factors in success and life. Steff acknowledges that these concepts may be uncomfortable for some of us. We hold cultural beliefs ingrained by oppressive systems and there are societal barriers to rest, such as capitalism's discouragement of slowing down and the limited understanding of rest beyond sleep. Reflection is also often neglected when we prioritize constant achievement. Rest is often seen as something earned or exclusive to vacations, and society's fast-paced nature hinders intentional breathing.
With all of this in mind, Steff aims to challenge societal norms and encourage listeners to incorporate rest, blank space, and reflection into their lives, supporting their mental, emotional, physical, and energetic health.

This episode of Rule Breakers’ takeover features Naomi Finkelstein, a weight-neutral Yoga Therapist, Health and Wellbeing Coach, and licensed Be Body Positive Facilitator. She speaks about the connection between our approach to self-care practices and entrepreneurship.
Naomi discusses how entrepreneurs and business owners have a tendency to look at what successful business owners are doing and think that we should follow suit if we want to achieve the same level of success.
Instead, Naomi believes that we should approach self-care and entrepreneurship from a place of deep love, rather than fear. This would mean being connected to our own values, desires, and interests, rather than being attached to our weight or looking at what others are doing.

In this episode, Brooke discusses the importance of taking action to achieve your business goals, rather than solely focusing on mindset work. The steps to take will be different for every entrepreneur, so it's essential to make those decisions on your own.
She suggests these four questions to help business owners align their actions with their goals:
1. What is your VISION for your business?
2. What are you telling yourself about your vision, and is it really your TRUTH?
3. What truth do you want to put your TRUST in?
4. If you trust that new story, what ACTION do you need to take now?
If you want to dig deeper into this process, Transcend Your Dichotomy Training Camp may be the right place for you!

In this episode, Brooke updates listeners on the Aligned Business Portal. She discusses the challenges of creating a successful product that helps people achieve their desired results rather than focusing on sales, and stresses the importance of focusing on building a sustainable business that provides real value to customers.
Brooke emphasizes the importance of nurturing relationships. A lot of it is genuinely caring about others, having conversations, putting support out there, and trusting in that.
Brooke also shares that she recently became a certified leadership coach. While it gave her a confidence boost and validated what she was already doing, she recommends that you shouldn't let a lack of certification stand in the way of pursuing your goals.

If you need a hard-ass pep talk, Briggs (Brooke’s “tough love” side) is here for you.
In this episode, Brooke discusses the biggest difference between people who are continually growing their businesses and those who struggle to attract new clients. As someone who has worked with people at various stages of their businesses, Brooke has noticed that most business owners tend to feel overwhelmed by the marketing process. What sets successful business owners apart is they do not let this stop them from showing up wherever they can to talk passionately and honestly about what they do and why people should work with them.
Brooke strongly encourages you to figure out your target audience and speak to their experiences in order to create effective marketing, instead of wasting your time and energy trying to get organized.
Now, it’s time for you to watch Brooke’s YouTube videos, grab her marketing plan, stop making excuses, and start taking action!
