On today's episode I will be chatting to indie alt folk artist, Tokoloshe!
I first met Tokoloshe in Sin E (adding to the ever extending list of guests on this podcast through that bar) and after his performance we spent the night having a lovely chat about how awesome Sepultura are and how he should come on the podcast. So it was fantastic to finally have him on, especially since we'll be chatting about his lovely latest single, 'Cosmic Holiday', which was released last week on October 7th.
The conversation proceeded to go down many avenues, including where the project gets it's name from, BRAT (of course), Aliens (which take a large feature in Tokoloshe's music), AI and it's future use in creative circles, Tool, Mastodon and the music in South Africa.
Tokoloshe is going to preforming plenty in the near future so be sure to catch them live wherever you can!

Today I am joined on the podcast by Rob and Leigh of Idle Discourse!
The plan of this episode was to chat to the lads about their fantastic EP, Volume 2, which was released in July, featuring songs like 'Caveat', 'Demonstrate' and 'Astra', all of which have remained on the top of my Repeat list for the duration of the summer - We kind of stuck to the plan.
In keeping with tradition from the last time the band we're on, this podcast went down many, many tangents such as Dark Souls, Transformers, Linkin Park, Wrestling and Leigh's great adventure at Download.
Always a pleasure to be chatting to the lads, was a tremendous amount of fun to record this episode, hope you enjoy it!

To balter is to dance artlessly without particular skill or grace but usually with great enjoyment, which is showcased in her fantastic paintings from the project, with each piece possessing amazing movement and vibrant colours.
We'll be chatting about what inspires her work, the Irish art scene, our time in NCAD, Dublin's Graffiti scene and a whole bunch more.
Ciara will also be exhibiting next at the Art Riddle Exhibition where she will be showing her piece, Balter NINE. The exhibition will take place at One Charlemount Sq, Charlemount Road, Dublin 2. Opening on Friday October 25th 6-8pm and runs until 3rd November 10-5pm each day.

Today I am joined on the podcast by Carlow's own, MACRUA!
We will primarily be discussing MACRUA's latest single, released on the 20th of September. Titled “Intro to My Mindset” it marks an interesting and exciting shift in genre mixing clever lyrics with equally memorable and catchy melodic motifs.
Inspired by heavy hitters Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino and Eminem the track tackles MACRUA’s fears of going deeper into the music industry, with his goal to retain his humility. Sure to resonate with the Indie rap massive, the track will also appeal to those who appreciate and admire genuine musical talent
On top of all this, we'll be about MACRUA's earliest influences, his musical theatre background, Tenacious D and many fun avenues this conversation went down.

Today I am joined on the podcast by John Harney of Blue Slate!
We'll be chatting about Blue Slate's latest release, 'Beaker' which is to be released tomorrow and marks a new sound and direction with the band's music.
On top of this, I'll be chatting to John about how he initially got into music, the ridiculous story of where the title for 'Beaker' even came from, how punk icons used to piss the general public off, American Hardcore, Henry Rollins and the love for the Brian Jonestown Massacre.
Myself and John have been trying to get this podcast organised for what seems like over a year now so it was fantastic to finally get it recorded and John certainly did not disappoint.

Produced by Matt Winston, the five-track EP explores the theme of emigration from the perspective of those who remain. On top of this, we'll be chatting about his upcoming singles 'Bedroom Plan' and 'Me and Marie', the amazing story of how he joined The Social Celtic Club and being with the band, amongst many other stories like the Arkham Games and the scramble for Oasis tickets.

Today I am absolutely to be joined on the podcast by Evan Prendergast of WORN OUT, to chat about the band's new EP, 'Low', set to be released on the 30th of August.
The first release off the EP, a song called 'Deeper', released in July, sets up this EP up as another fantastic edition to the band's back catalogue.
I've been following this band since their first releases and they've remained a band who consistently push the boundaries of their music with each explosive release and the pandemonium of their live shows sets them up as one of my favorite bands out there to go see.
Evan also plays drums with awesome band that is UNCULTIVATES and runs Dead Cult Promotions so needless to say we have plenty to chat about in this episode.
You can pre-order 'Low' now on Vinyl and tape as well pick up tickets to see the guys live on their release tour!

Today I am joined by Vincent, Eoin and Willow of the band Raining In December!
This was a band that as soon as I heard their first single, 'Restart', I knew I had to get them on for a chat on the podcast!
We'll be chatting about that single, as well as how the band started, the very surprising story of how they got their name, the difficulty of getting Eoin to answer questions, favorite Linkin Park and Bring Me The Horizon albums, their next single 'Faith', which is set to be released very soon and many, many tangents - maybe the most tangents I've ever gone down on a podcast.

Welcome back to another episode of the podcast!

We somehow managed to cover all of that within an hour.
You can catch Declan playing with True Home tomorrow supporting stoner and sludge metal legends, Weedeater alongside Coroza and TOOMS, then again with True Home supporting pthumulhu in Thomas House on Wednesday and a True Home headline show upstairs in Whelans on the 23rd of August!

Today I am joined by Oisín Murray and Róisín Doyle of Faoin Talamh, a new ancient Irish audio-visual project that will be debuting this Friday in Unit 44, Dublin.
The audio-visual collaboration is made using the sounds of Irish Bronze Age musical instruments in tandem with abstracted imagery of Irish Flora.
In this episode we will be talking about how this project began, the ancient sites the pair visited when researching for the project, the instruments played (all of which I've never even heard of), how you go about composing music that has no original sheet music for it or recordings, how Róisín created the beautiful visuals for the project and how people have died playing the instruments - I'm deadly serious, that has happened.
I had the pleasure of getting to see an example of what way this work would take form in and was really blown away at the combination of the music that Oisín has composed for this project played alongside the audio-visual's Róisín created, perfectly in sync and flowing with each other throughout the piece. Friday night at Unit 44 will be an event not to be missed. Tickets will be available at the door for €5.
Faoin Talamh also gave me a snippet of one of the pieces to open this episode, which is entitled 'Dúros' and is available to listen now on Spotify.
