On this episode...Brock's dog, Sam, doesn't enjoy hunting; things get political before turning to movies, which, well, things still stay kind of political. The films discussed are 'Heretic,' 'Azrael,' and Kelly Reichardt's 'Night Moves.' Tangential discussions of the Bob Dylan biopic and the Robbie Williams 'biopic' also occur.

On today's episode, a couple of new films that question the very nature of our existence: 'Humanist Vampire Seeks Consenting Suicidal Person,' and 'It's What's Inside.' We also continue on with our look at the films of Kelly Reichardt with 'Meek's Cutoff...' an adaptation of the video game 'The Oregon Trail'? Maybe?

A couple of "scary" movies on this episode--albeit for different reasons. We dig into the Joker sequel and continue on our path down Kelly Reichardt's filmography with 'Wendy and Lucy.'
We also have a sponsorship pitch for Chappell Roan.

We've got three new films for you today, Screamers. We also talk a lot of other enjoyable nonsense. Did you know Jason doesn't really like theaters? And Brock tries to tell you he shoots film without telling you he shoots film. We also get around to talking about 'The Substance,' 'Booger,' and 'Strange Darling.'

It's football season, so we're talking football movies. Four of them, to be exact: The Best of Times, All the Right Moves, Wildcats, and The Program. Hard hitting cinematic gridiron... We also yell about the remake of Speak No Evil.
Also, Jennifer Warnes did, in fact, sing a rendition of Leonard Cohen's Famous Blue Raincoat.

On today's show, we finish up our Araki series by looking at--or trying to look at--'White Bird in a Blizzard.' We also talk two new films: Zoe Kravitz's directorial debut, 'Blink Twice,' and a spooky golem tale, 'Oddity.' Oasis also comes up...

We're in close quarters today, Screamers. The latest from Kit Zuahar is a delicious look at intimacy; 'Twilight of the Warrior' is a kick-ass Hong Kong action flic, and Gregg Araki's 'Kaboom' ranks higher for us than 'Smiley Face.' Hope you enjoy.

We have a special episode today, Screamers. The Fort Worth Film Club hosted the Fort Worth premiere of The People's Joker on August 28th, and before that screening Brock and Jason recorded a conversation with Vera Drew. After the screening, there was a discussion panel comprised of members from local LGBTQIA groups. It was a fantastic evening and event.
The conversation with Vera can also be found on YouTube here

What is "folk horror"? Are we talking about "Young Guns," or "Young Guns 2"? We're not even sure. But we know Gregg Araki's "Mysterious Skin" is a tough but beautiful watch.

"Speak No Evil" is getting an English-language remake, so we thought we'd dig into the original. Speaking of "horror" we talk a bit about the new M. Night Shyamalan film, "Trap." And we finish it all off with a Kathleen Robertson starring rom-com, Gregg Araki's "Splendor" (which is just like the 1930s film "Design For Living").

What's so long about those legs? They look like normal legs, to me. We're talking Nic Cage in white makeup and the atmospheric Devil-made-me-do-it thriller, "Longlegs." We also discuss "The Vourdalak," a film that uses marionettes in a way that is...just brilliant. And we continue our look at Gregg Araki's body of work with "Nowhere"--the greatest teen movie ever.

We're back with the second installment of The Teen Apocalypse Trilogy as we look at the anger and angst of The Doom Generation. We also tackle all of Ti West's influences in the pastiche-fest that is MaXXXine. And apparently there's a movie coming next year about a toilette?

On today's episode: more Araki! We look at the first of the Teen Apocalypse Trilogy with 'Totally F***ed Up.' And we dig into the Brat Pack with Andrew McCarthy's new doc 'Brats' and the movie that set flames to a generation of stars, 'St. Elmo's Fire' (terrible songs in this movie, terrible).

Boy, Jason really dislikes 'Hit Man' (more people should). But we talk about some films that he does like, namely 'The Last Stop in Yuma County,' and the prequel (?) to Gregg Araki's Teen Apocalypse Trilogy, 'The Living End.' Come for the Glenn Howard discussion, stay for the talk about how important Araki is and how he doesn't get his due.

We interrupt our regular posting schedule to bring you an emergency solo pod, Screamers. While Brock is in Indianapolis seeing movies, Jason has some thoughts on the reopening of the DFW Alamo Drafthouses. It's an episode that's honest, emotional, uncensored...uses interesting metaphors that Jason swears never happened to him. The Wilhelm boys will be back together for the next full episode. Until then, scream along with Jason.

O'Despair like Bucket O'Chicken. We're back to discuss another early (early) Gregg Araki film, "The Long Weekend (O'Despair)." It's a lot of people talking a lot about how depressed they are--and it's brilliant. We also talk about "Gasoline Rainbow," the lates "documentary"(?) from the Ross brothers. Hang in there, Screamers.
