Soak up classic ocean views while you cruise along California's Pacific Coast Highway. Stop for a seaside bowl of clam chowder in Morro Bay, rest your weary head in Big Sur's magnificent Redwood Forests and taste award winning stinky cheeses in Point Reyes. Heading north from SoCal we took two weeks to hit 20 unique spots around the coast including a daylong side trip through Paso Robles wine country to grab a case of Justin and a photo with the San Andreas Fault Line. Figure in a couple extra hours of drive time especially since this demanding road comes with a twisting shoulder workout that begs for a leisurely pace and countless stops for Instagram opportunities at each incredible view point along the way. This is one spectacular road trip that you can definitely take over and over again without ever feeling repetitive. Just change up your lodging, dining and seasonal looky-loo stops for a whole new enchilada each time. So keep this bucket list drive in your back pocket, a prescription for relaxation when you need to slow down and getaway from the hoopla that is Southern California. #WestCoastistheBestCoast *Destination Toilets* Madonna Inn – San Luis ObispoHeart CastleMorro BayPaso RoblesJames Dean Memorial - CholameSan Andreas Fault Line - ParkfieldNitt Witt Ridge - CambriaBig Sur Lodge - Big Sur*Bucket list Tip* Glen Oaks - Big SurDeetjens - Big SurNepenthe - Big SurPoint Sur Lighthouse - Big Sur17 Mile Drive - Pebble Beach - CarmelCarmel Mission - CarmelSea Star Cottage - Point ReyesOlema Farm House, Marin Sun Farms & Bear Valley Visitor Center - Point ReyesPoint Reyes Light House - Point ReyesFainting goats & Old Faithful Geyser - CalistogaRussian River Brewing Co - Santa RosaCowgirl Creamery - Point Reyes Join the adventure!

Remember those magazine covers on glamping? Those carefully staged photos are nothing more than the devil's trickery!
We discovered that glamping can be for lil' kiddies too. Including their lil' implements of doom, such as bullhorns, bikes and bright-ass headlamps.
In this episode we bring you tons of ideas for a rad weekend roadtrip to Santa Barbara.
Regardless of the renegade gangs of children you'll hear why we'd still highly recommend glamping...especially for us lazy types.

Whether you fancy a well planned out itinerary or the spontaneous weekend getaway, trippin’ of any sort can be rather difficult when you have four legged responsibilities at home so we’ve put together a handy list of sh*t you need to pack and do to keep your sanity in check when making the big decision to take your fur-babies along for the ride.
Schedule Trips in the Cooler Climates and Off SeasonsKeep on track with your pets regularly scheduled meals and definitely Do NOT feed them junk food while on vacationStore dog food inside an air tight container with it’s original packaging intactDon’t forget the doggy gear! Your pooch needs a few things to be comfortable and not become a whinny backseat beastCheck out the Dog Lover’s Companion book series for California and the Pacific NorthwestRegular bathroom breaks and leg stretching requiredBlu road tripped with us for thousands of miles through California, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Arizona and even Canada. She made us feel safe traveling around this crazy country of ours and we wouldn’t have done it any other way.
Christmas 2014 was our last “staycation” with Blu. We took those last two weeks and spoiled her silly as she quickly declined losing her ability to walk but never losing her sparkle. She was the rambunctious light of our lives and went out in a spectacular flurry of hamburger parties and junk food heaven. We miss her everyday and hopefully one day we can bring ourselves to welcome another puppy into our lives but for now we may just cross over to the dark side with a little kitteh’ since the thought of trying to replace Blu seems outrageously impossible.Join the adventure!

“Really? This could be my last trip and you wanna go WHERE?”
I always thought that Bishop was just a spot you stopped at for a quick potty-n-petrol break on the way to Mammoth.
When Honey suggested we go here for her birthday and a quick get away before I was to start my first chemo treatment, I initially felt a little less than impressed, but was I in for an awe inspiring surprise!
In this episode, we bring you...(insert drum roll here):
Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest: Home of the world's oldest known living tree. The Racetrack at Death Valley National Park: Mystery rocks who’s paths show that they’ve moved over the years – but nobody is quite sure how.Bodie State Historic Park: With 110 structures suspended in a state of arrested decay, this awesome Ghost Town is an Instagramers paradise!Alabama Hills: Mars-like rock formations combined with Mount Whitney, the highest summit in the contiguous United States, makes Alabama Hills a perfect backdrop for your next photo op – so don’t miss this easy side trip!Mono Lake Tufa State National Reserve: Otherworldly views dotted with clusters of salt pillars rising from the sea – home to trillions of teeny Brine Shrimp beckoning the hungry masses of migratory birds.Tioga Pass at Yosemite National Park: If you enjoy thrilling tight curves and sharp drop-offs then make sure to check out the highest mountain pass in all of the Sierra Nevada mountains on CA Highway 120.Buttermilk Country Loop: Stop for a picnic and a little bouldering while waiting on an afternoon storm to appear.Lake Sabrina: California’s tasty state fish, the Golden Trout, is abundant in these parts.Rock Creek Lake: If you’re looking to try your luck with the most popular hike along highway 395 that isn’t Mt. Whitney, then head up to Mosquito Flat at Rock Creek and you’ll find the trailhead to the stunning Little Lakes Valley.Manzanar National Historic Site: In 1942, the Manzanar War Relocation Center off Hwy 395 was just one of ten remote locations where more than 110,000 Japanese Americans were detained in military style camps during World War II.Check out this episode's blog post for more info.
