  • Hello friends! Enjoy this re-release of an old ep that we thought was quite fitting for our mini series!

    Hello friends!

This week Lena & Ge discover that the age-old adage that ‘your friendships in your 20s will closely resemble a 90s sitcom’ (you know the one 👀) is in fact complete BS. Instead their friendships seem to have a lot more friends moving away, friendships drifting apart, texting without seeing each other for months and other mundanities. We also listen to your voice messages on the expectations you had about friendships in your 20s (thanks to everyone that contributed!). We hope this helps you feel less alone, muddled and/or insecure about your friendships and we are not in any way  responsible for any remote-control-throwing or laptop-lid-slamming that watching 90s sitcoms about friendships might ensue…

    Our weekly reccs:

Ge - I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy (extra recommend the audio book which is read by Jennette!)

Lena - Go to your local library (Ge also taught Lena that most local library’s have an online audio book collection accessible through Libby or BorrowBox, which happens to be where Ge listened to her recommendation!)

  • Hi!

This week we chatted about the heavier sides of friendship - toxic friendships, calling out bad behaviour, how to know when it’s time to move on from a friend and what moving on from a friendship break down can look like. We also had a juicy advice question that took a little bit of debating to get to an answer. We hope this one resonates.

  • Hello again!

Lena & Ge are talking about grieving your youth, aka that transition period/feeling/nostalgic-inducing-time where you have more responsibilities than ever but maybe don’t quite feel ready to navigate them. We chat through how youth is a privilege but how no one really equips you to deal with the sadness of starting to say goodbye to it. This is something we’d love to hear from our beautiful listeners on so please don’t hesitate to get in touch with your own thoughts, feelings and experiences.

  • This week Lena & Ge sit down with Bella Simon, who was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis at 16 and at 20 required a liver transplant in order to live. Bella generously shares what it was like to be chronically ill as a late teen, what it meant for friendships and firsts, what waiting for a life saving liver transplant felt like and how it has shaped the direction of her career. We certainly learnt a lot from Bella and we hope you do too. If you are not already we would encourage you to become a registered organ donor (more info below) and discuss your wishes with your loved ones. It might just save a life. If you want to skip ahead of our fluff (you will miss out of passata chat) you can skip to 10.52 ☺️

You can become a registered organ donor (in Australia) by visiting the Services Australia Website and following the instructions and you can donate blood or plasma by following the instructions at Red Cross Lifeblood Australia and finding your nearest donor centre.
