It’s been a few weeks between drinks (and films) but Tom, Will are Marco are back and better than ever! After a few weeks’ hiatus, Marco, Will and Tom are back with the OSCAR, BAFTA, SAG, Golden Globe (and just about every other award show) nominated/winner Nomadland, and at least two out of the three boys clearly agree this is one of the best films of the year! This week Tom, Marco and Will head to an almost empty cinema to see the B-grade action film Boss Level. For those who may be interested, the main takeaways are: Frank Grillo has great abs and Mel Gibson probably now has lung cancer. Will tries to distract the other boys from the atrocity that is the film by bringing in a most delicious single barrel bourbon whiskey from his favourite American distillery Koval. This week Will, Tom and Marco check out the latest Thomas Vinterberg film about 4 middle-aged friends who seek to improve their mundane lives by maintaining a contestant state of low-level intoxication. What could possibly go wrong, right? Marco celebrates this week’s theme by bringing the Auchentoshan Single Malt Scotch Whisky to the table. Extra dram for being able to pronounce this one without help! Episode 2 of season 2 sees Tom, Marco and Will review another Aussie new release: High Ground. Set in the early 20th century in the remote Arnhem Land region of northern Australia, an indigenous community seeks revenge for an unprovoked and callous massacre by the white colonists. It’s Will’s turn to bring a whisky to the bar, and he departs the Australian shores in favour of a Japanese blended whisky, the Fuyu. The boys are heading back into the bar (and the cinema) with a brand new Aussie film staring our very own local Hollywood hero, Eric Bana. Marco is first up on whisky duties and to kick things off in 2021 he travels back in time with the Shackleton Highland Blended Malt Scotch Whisky. In the final episode of the year Will, Marco and Tom review Happiest Season, a new Christmas feel-good film by writer/director Clea DuVall and staring Kristen Stewart. The boys also do a full wrap up of the movies and whisk(e)ys tried throughout the entire first season and talk the highs and lows of the past 30 episodes. 3 Boys in a Bar will be back in 2021 with all new movies and whiskeys to review so until then, stay safe and happy holidays!

Episode 29 is a Gary Oldman masterclass as he helms the latest Netlix original, David Fincher film: MANK. Will reviews an American Single Malt Whisky all the way from the Westward Distillery in Portland, Oregon.

In Episode 27 the boys review one of the best films of 2020: The Trial of the Chicago 7. Writer/director extraordinaire Aaron Sorkin has done it again with this well-timed, superbly acted political masterpiece. Marco also selects one of the best whiskies of the year and toasts Tom’s 30th with the Limeburners Single Malt 8yo from the Great Southern Distilling Company in Western Australian.
