There are some celebrities and businesspeople that make where they are from part of their identity. Jay-Z and New York, Mark Wahlberg and Boston, and who can forget Abe Froman the Sausage King of Chicago. But as we embark on our 5th year of doing our show, we are going to pay homage to one of the icons of our city. Ted Turner and Atlanta. Ted followed loosely in his father’s footsteps but built a cable empire that changed the way we watched television. While Ted was a pioneer in the television world, he went on to do even more in his conservation efforts. But there has to be some skeletons in that massive, walk-in closet after all these years, right? Ever wonder why so many people are Braves fans in Pocatello, Idaho? Well, we hit a bit of a milestone with this show. Not only has this been our most requested show subject, but we’re also celebrating our 5-year anniversary! Thank you to all of you that listen and give us your support, it means the world to us!
Now, on to business… We’ve talked about royalty on our show, we’ve talked about people being the “greatest of all time” at their particular craft, but it’s hard to deny that Michael Jackson earned his title as the “King of Pop”. MJ dominated the airwaves from the time he was a kid in the Jackson 5, to creating some of the most recognizable hits in his solo career. While his music and dancing inspired generations to come, there was a lot, and I mean a lot, of off-stage behavior that had people asking a lot of questions. And some of those people were the police. Did MJ get a fair shake in all this, after seemingly being guilty in the court of public opinion? How did his childhood play into his odd behavior? And what did that room smell like when Michael caught his hair on fire? We’ll dive into this and more in the Michael Jackson episode of AHC Podcast.

A lot of our show subjects have many, often well publicized incidents that make it no surprise that they find themselves in our courtroom. There are also a lot of shows that we’re sure listeners see the subject and think, who? Well, most of you have seen Terrence Howard on television and the movies, but today we’ll dive into one of the more, we’ll just say, interesting, people we’ve talked about on our show. When a celebrity dives into other areas outside of their expertise, we’ve seen some crazy things happen. But Terrence’s ideas of how basic math and physics work, now has a lot of people shaking their head. Does his thinking prevent him from getting roles? Is there more than just some crazy ideas that shone a negative light on the Hustle and Flow star? Does 1x1, really equal 1? So, the original idea for the show was going to be about another accused pedophile, and honestly, we just wanted to talk about something else. The British have seemed to corner the market for celebrity TV personalities that can be more or less classified, as pric*s. We’ve already done a show on Gordon Ramsey, I’ve heard that the second-best Bond, Pierce Brosnan, can be a bit of a jerk, and today’ show subject has made a name for himself not only in the music business but with his snarky putdowns. Simon Cowell was a star in the UK before coming to the US in the early 2000’s and the show he brought with him, American Idol, took the US by storm. We’ve seen a few of our courtroom contestants meet their maker, as we all will one day, after we release the episode where they are the subject. Just recently, OJ Simpson, passed away and lots of people made one final dig at The Juice. Many would say it was well-deserved for what most view as him “getting off” for killing his ex-wife and her friend, but some still say that if the glove doesn’t fit, you must acquit. Once we got done with our Update Show a couple months ago, we thought we had done a good job of getting everyone caught up on some of shenanigans our subjects had gotten into since we did their show. And I mean, we couldn’t leave Steven Seagal sitting where he was in our final ratings.
But then came the absolutely insane stories about Sean “P Diddy” Combs just weeks after our Update Show. The stories coming out are absolutely nuts and the names involved make this story even more salacious. So, we decided to revisit P Diddy and his latest escapades and allegations. How deep do these allegations run and how many celebrities are just hoping and praying their name doesn’t come out? Is Diddy the monster he’s been made out to be? “Men want to be him, and women want to be with him”, that line couldn’t have been more fitting for the show subject in this episode, Hugh Hefner. Hugh was a pioneer in the porno world and his creation, Playboy, was the introduction of naked women to many in the American public. Hugh lived the life that many only dream of, and it seems as though all the stories have a ring of truth to them, both good and bad. As you can only imagine, the shenanigans that went on at the world’s wildest party house can only be left to the imagination. But did things go to far? In the 4+ years we've been discussing the many subjects in our courtroom, it's very much come to our attention that some of our older scores may not align with where we are now. How we got to some of the earlier scores, we can't really explain, but we'll chalk it up to alcohol and inexperience. But we're here to make it right!
In this episode, we are going to dive into updates on a number of people we've discussed in the past, as well as go back and make a few scores right. And and of course we're going to talk about one of our biggest misses of all time, Steven Seagal. This was one of our favorite episodes to record, enjoy! -
If you are a celebrity, I would imagine the goal for your career would be to ride out your prime years and then gracefully age out into Hollywood history. There may be some bumps along the way, but if you can avoid that big blowup, it should be smooth sailing. And then there are those that don’t quite have that made-for-tv ending. Paul Reubens, aka Pee Wee Herman, was killing it career-wise when it all came to a screeching halt after a night out at the local theater. Problem was, it wasn’t the kind of place you would pick for a date night to catch a Marvel flick… The number of jokes that followed were countless, but Pee Wee quit. We saw him a few more times before more trouble popped up and that pretty much did it for the character so many of us grew up watching. But was Pee Wee the perv everyone made him out to be? How did the character even come to be? What was he thinking when he went to the flick show that fateful night? We’ll dive into this and more in this episode of AHC Podcast.

Some of the subjects in our courtroom may require a little jog of the memory when you first hear of the person, others not so much. And unless you’ve been living under a rock or in a coma for the last 10 years, Taylor Swift is a name you probably have heard much about, regardless of your taste in music. The hardworking star has been topping the charts for about a decade, and probably the most remarkable thing about her, is that she has seemed to avoid that one big blowup. When you think of the “mastermind” behind successful things, you usually find someone with a high level of education, decent business sense, and most importantly, a good idea. Al Capone ran the largest organized crime ring in Chicago in the 20’s with the education of a 6th grader, a penchant for violence, and an idea that’s been tried many times. But there is something to be said about being in the right place at the right time. Capone was one of the first “dons” to take his underworld fame to the public eye. But was the cavalier attitude of the original Scarface what eventually brought him down? How many dudes did this guy kill to climb our charts?
