Na safra de milho inverno 2024-25, o Brasil deve produzir 94,6 milhões de t do grão e exportar 34 milhões de t, ou seja, cerca de 36pc. Os portos do Arco Norte são estratégicos, devido à proximidade de importantes regiões agrícolas, além de serem uma importante via de exportação para mercados da Europa e da África. Os portos de Itaqui e Barcarena respondem juntos por mais da metade dos embarques de milho do Arco Norte.

Brazil is expected to produce 94.6mn metric tonnes (t) of corn in the 2024-25 second crop and export 34mn t, or around 36pc of the production. Northern Arc ports are strategic because of their proximity to important agricultural hubs and are important export route to markets in Europe and Africa. Itaqui and Barcarena ports account for more than half of Northern Arc's corn shipments.
