Saying “Yes” is an easy thing to do (often too easy). Many of us are trained to accommodate, assist and oblige others’ needs and wants. But this pattern becomes a runaway train for so many, when we’re not able to stand up for ourselves, or even identify our deepest wants. A chronic habit of an unexamined “Yes” brings us to a never ending list of to-do’s, “shoulds” and resentments. Eventually “yes” can lead to “I’m utterly exhausted and drained” and filled with the anxiety of too many distractions.
