  • Derek and John chat all about their thoughts on the Agatha All Along Finale. We discuss Episode 8 “Follow Me My Friend To Glory at the End” and Episode 9 “Maiden Mother Crone” in spoiler filled detail.

    Agatha All Along Finale Synopsis

Agatha Harkness Character Created by Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby.

    Creator and Showrunner: Jac Shaeffer

Episode 8 Written by: Peter Cameron

Episode 9 Written by: Jac Schaeffer and Laura Donney

Both Episodes Directed by: Gandja Monteiro

Following Lilia’s death, Agatha is confronted by Rio, the personification of Death. She believes Billy is an abomination as he gained a second life by entering the body of William Kaplan. Agatha agrees to deliver him willingly to Death once they’ve completed the road and is allowed to continue on the journey with Jen and Billy.

But after a few steps they find that The Witch’s Road goes in a circle. Angered that the road is not what he thought, Billy puts his shoes back on, and the three are transported to body bags in a version of Agatha's basement with grow lights that slowly go out. The final trial has begun.

Each of the remaining members of the Coven need to get their reward for reaching the end of the road. When Jen learns that Agatha was the witch who bound her, she performs the unbinding spell and regains her abilities. Jen disappears, having gotten what she needed from the Road.

Agatha helps Billy locate Tommy's soul, and Billy puts it in the body of a drowning boy. Billy disappears and Agatha grows a flower through a crack in the floor using a seed from her locket, completing the trial in the nick of time. She leaves the room and finds herself in her garden, where Death awaits her.

While Billy returns to help Agatha, she attempts to complete her vow to Death and give Billy up, but he convinces her it is her time. Agatha kisses her old lover and dies, returning to the earth.

Death allows Billy to leave, and he returns home to his parents. Upon entering his bedroom, he realises that many of the objects match aspects of the Road and hears Agatha laughing.

Elsewhere in 1750, Agatha has difficulty in childbirth, as Death arrives to take her son, Agatha pleads with her not to take him. Death tells Agatha that she already has a better deal than anyone else alive so all she can give her son is time. Agatha gives birth to Nicholas Scratch, knowing that one day Death will eventually return to take him.

Agatha spends the next six years absorbing other witches' powers and leaving their bodies for death while raising Nicholas. As they travel together, Nicholas and his mother concoct a familiar song of their journey. Over many iterations of their travelling tune, the Ballad of the Witches' Road is formed. Nicholas performs the song in a small village, hoping to ensnare some witches for his mother. But he is too sick to complete the ruse. That night Death finally comes to take the young boy.

While Agatha mourns her son at his graveside, a witch from the village approaches her. She wants Agatha to help guide her down the famous Witches Road. Agatha hatches a plan to continue her long life using the song she created with her son. She spends the next three centuries absorbing other witches' magic by tricking them into gathering covens to open the Road then aggravating them into attacking her.

Back in Billy’s bedroom in present day, Agatha, now a ghost, tells Billy that he created the Road. He despairs, blaming himself for the deaths of Lilia, Alice, and Sharon. Agatha tries to relieve some of his guilt saying she killed Alice and Lilia gave herself up but admits Sharon was killed by Billy’s mind. As Agatha planned to kill the whole coven anyway, she believes he should consider himself a saviour as Jen got out alive.

Billy returns to Westview and tries to banish Agatha in her basement; But she reveals that she is afraid of dying because she cannot face Nicholas Scratch after all she’s done.

  • It all comes together for Lilia in Agatha All Along Episode 7 "Death's Hand In Mine". John and Derek chat about it all in our spoiler filled chat all about the episode.

Agatha All Along Episode 7 Synopsis

Agatha Harkness Character Created by Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby.

    Creator and Showrunner: Jac Shaeffer

Episode Written by: Gia King & Cameron Squires

    Episode Directed by: Jac Shaeffer

Agatha Harkness and Billy continue on the Road together. He angrily disagrees with Agatha about his mother being Wanda Maximoff. He has a mother from when he was William Kaplan. But he wonders if Wanda is alive or dead, with no help from Agatha.

The pair come across a castle, the setting for their next challenge. As their new trial begins, the two are garbed as the Wicked Witch of the West and Maleficent, respectively, and are presented with tarot cards. The teen is inexperienced in Tarot and Agatha has no belief in this type of magic. But if they put a card in the wrong place they may be killed by a sword from above and if they don’t complete the trial in 30 minutes they will be crushed by the approaching ceiling.

Meanwhile, the pieces of Lilia’s complicated life slowly fall into place as she reaches her end. Lilia has been experiencing her life out of order, creating gaps between what she knows and the conversations she has.

After falling through the witches Road, Lilia discovered that Rio is actually the personification of Death (something Agatha already knew), threatening that her time is coming.

She awakens Jen and after avoiding the Salem Seven, venture through the tunnels before reuniting with Agatha and Billy (Lilia is dressed as Glinda, Jen is dressed as a hag). As Tarot is a speciality of Lilia’s she takes over the trial. Initially she reads for The Teen, confirming he is Billy Maximoff. But the reading doesn’t slow the trial and she realises it is for her not Billy.

Lilia puts together the elements from her life placing the proper cards in order, saving them all. As the exit opens, Lilia chooses to stay behind as the Salem Seven come down on her.

She reverses the Tower Card, causing the entire room to flip, impaling the Salem Seven on the swords. As Lilia falls to her death, following her unorthodox life, she arrives back at her first lesson with her mentor centuries before.

The party ends when an emergency call goes out as the Hex over Westview created by Wanda Maximoff begins to fall. While driving past Westview, William's parents become distracted by the collapsing Hex and have a car accident where William dies, at the same time, as Wanda says goodbye to her sons, Billy Maximoff awakens in the empty vessel of William's body.

Billy has trouble adjusting to life in William's body after the accident because of his ability to read the minds of those around him and his lack of memory of his life before.

Three years later, William and his boyfriend Eddie meet with Ralph Bohner (Bohnerriffic69), who used to be controlled by Agatha Harkness inside Wanda's Hex. He tells them about what happened there and about Wanda's twins Billy and Tommy, making Billy realise who he is. Determined to use the Witches' Road to find Tommy, Billy goes to Agatha and undoes Wanda's spell.

In the present, Agatha escapes the mud and confronts Billy. Realising that the sigil has been destroyed, she deduces what his goal is and tells him that they must continue together to find his twin, since Billy cannot control all that power he has inside.

Agatha Harkness Character Created by Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby.

    Creator and Showrunner: Jac Shaeffer

    Episode Written by: Jac Shaeffer

    Episode Directed by: Jac Shaeffer

In the quiet town of Westview Detective Agnes O'Connor arrives at a cliche crime scene where a woman's dead body has been found with blackened hands. She is the only one that can solve the case. During her investigation, dealing with many familiar Westview residents, she learns the woman was killed in Eastern Europe and her body has been dropped in Westview.

Back at the station FBI agent Vidal is, stereotypically, put on the case too. Agnes hates the agent but can’t remember why. Agent Vidal pays a visit to the characteristically lonely Agnes to try to get her to remember who she is. While the women drink together a teenager breaks into Agnes’ house.

She chases down and captures the teen but while questioning him, he tells Agnes he knows who she really is and begins speaking in Latin. He has cast a spell that begins to break Wanda Maximoff’s hold on Agnes. With a final push from Agent Vidal Agnes learns her real name, it was Agatha All Along.

She learns that following the death of Wanda, Agatha experienced a break from the character of Agnes and began living out a fantasy as a true crime detective with the help of other Westview residents.

Agent Vidal reveals herself to be a rival witch who wants to punish Agatha for all of her previous transgressions. She’s not the only one. Other witches known as the Salem Seven also want to punish Agatha. But she negotiates with Vidal to wait until she’s back to full power before defeating her.

With Vidal dealt with, Agatha turns her attention to the young magic user who broke her free from the Scarlet Witch’s spell.

  • It's finale time as we chat about Echo Episode 5 Maya. The series comes to an end and has an intriguing set up for Daredevil Born again.

    Echo Episode 5 Maya Synopsis

Echo Character Created by David Mack and Joe Quesada

    Head Writer: Marion Dayre

Written by: Amy Rardin and Steven Judd & Ellen Morton and Chantelle Wells

    Episode Directed by: Sydney Freeland

In a flashback to her childhood, Maya hits a woodpecker with a slingshot. Taloa reprimands Maya for hurting an innocent life, and, with her hands glowing, heals the woodpecker. Later, the two release it back into the wild.

Having left Tamaha and on the road Maya stops off at services unaware that back in Tamaha her family are in danger as Fisk plans retribution for her rejection of his offer to return to New York as his Partner.

In Tamaha as the community gets ready for the Choctaw Nation Pow Wow, Biscuits messages Maya that Chula and Bonnie are missing, and she returns to Tamaha. She quickly visits Chula's home, and is met by a vision of her mother, Taloa. Taloa tells her that she is the embodiment of their people's legacy, and that this legacy will echo through her actions.

The vision ends, revealing Chula's finished garment. At the Choctaw Pow Wow Festival, Maya locates Fisk, who has kidnapped Chula and Bonnie, and threatens to kill her entire family for betraying him. While Biscuits incapacitates Fisk's men with a monster truck, and Henry takes out Zane, Maya shares her Choctaw powers with Chula and Bonnie, who overpower Fisk's men.

Using her powers, Maya takes Fisk to the memory of his father beating his mother, in an effort to heal his trauma and help him let go of his anger. Returning to reality, an outraged Fisk demands to know what she did to him and leaves the festival before the police arrive.

The next day, Maya says goodbye to her family before leaving Tamaha. In a mid-credits scene, Fisk is on his airplane watching with interest a news story that talks about the lack of front-runners in the New York mayoral elections and sparks an unexpected idea in the Kingpin.

  • Derek, John and Chris are back to Echo Episode 4 Taloa the penultimate episode of the tv show as we learn another ancestors story and Maya gets an offer from Fisk.

    Echo Episode 4 Taloa Synopsis

Echo Character Created by David Mack and Joe Quesada

    Head Writer: Marion Dayre

Written by: Ken Kristensen, Joshua Feldman and Chantelle Wells

    Episode Directed by: Sydney Freeland

In 2008, a young Maya is verbally abused by an ice cream vendor, who fails to understand her request for ice cream. An enraged Fisk retaliates by brutally attacking the vendor. Although Maya witnesses this, she kicks the vendor as payback.

Several years later, Maya is about to begin working for Fisk, when he offers a final lesson - only the two of them can trust one another. While they finish their shared dinner, Fisk's ASL translator is dismissed and brutally killed.

Back in Tamaha at Maya’s family home, Fisk and his men surround Maya, but Fisk gives Maya an augmented reality contact lens so that they can communicate without an ASL interpreter. Fisk tells her that he will give her his criminal empire if she agrees to return with him to New York, giving her one day to decide.

Maya shares this with Henry, who advises against it, but she suddenly receives a vision of her ancestors. At the Choctaw Powwow festival grounds, Chula receives the same vision. Henry takes Maya to see Chula, who tells her that their ancestors help them when they need it most, recounting a vision that she received when giving birth to Maya's mother, Taloa.

Maya leaves in anger, feeling abandoned by Chula as a child. Chula later begins to work on a special garment. That night, Maya goes to Fisk's hotel with the intention of killing him. Revealing to her that he killed his father after seeing him beat his mother, Fisk tells her to make good on her threat if that is what she needs, but she rejects this. He repeats his invitation to join her in New York, but is enraged to find out the next morning that Maya has left Tamaha without him.

Marvel's What If? 206 What if Kahhori Reshaped The World? Synopsis

Executive Produced by: Bryan Andrews, A.C. Bradley, Brad Winderbaum with Kevin Feige

    Head Writer: A.C. Bradley

Episode Written by: Ryan Little ( In collaboration with the citizens of the Kanien'kehá:ka -The Mohawk Nation)

    Episode Directed By: Bryan Andrews

After Surtur destroys Asgard during Ragnarok, the Tesseract crash-lands in the Haudenosaunee Confederacy in pre-colonial America. The Tesseract falls into a lake, releasing the energy of the Space Stone into it, giving it magical properties.

In the late 15th century, a young Mohawk woman, Kahhori, and her brother Wáhta are hunted by Spanish Conquistadors led by Rodrigo Alphonso Gonzolo, who have ransacked their village in search of the Fountain of Youth. The Conquistadors chase them into a cave, where they capture Wáhta and shoot Kahhori, causing her to fall into a lake.

The Space Stone, located at the bottom of the lake, creates a portal and teleports Kahhori to another dimension, where she is nursed back to health by fellow Mohawk people. One of the villagers, Atahraks, explains that people who interact with the lake are teleported to the "Sky World", where they gain powers and become immortal, but are unable to return to their home. Kahhori stays and becomes acquainted with the Sky World villagers while also familiarizing herself with her new powers.

Eventually, Gonzolo dispatches men into the lake, believing it to be the Fountain of Youth. The Conquistadors are teleported to the Sky World, where they attempt to attack the villagers but are stopped by Kahhori, who forces the portal in the sky to the ground and returns to her home to rescue her people from the Conquistadors. She is later joined by the Sky World villagers, who help her defeat the Conquistadors and rescue her people.

Sometime after, Kahhori and the Sky World villagers force Queen Isabella of Spain to make peace with the Mohawk people. Doctor Strange Supreme appears from a portal and congratulates Kahhori for causing "world peace", saying that he has been looking for her for a long time.

  • Happy New Year fellow Defenders we're back once again with our chat all about What If? 205 What if Captain Carter Fought The Hydra Stomper? One of the best episodes of the season so far.

Marvel's What If? 205 What if Captain Carter Fought The Hydra Stomper? Synopsis

Executive Produced by: Bryan Andrews, A.C. Bradley, Brad Winderbaum with Kevin Feige

    Head Writer: A.C. Bradley

    Episode Written by: A.C. Bradley

    Episode Directed By: Bryan Andrews

Following a mission to retake the Lemurian Star, Captain Peggy Carter and Natasha Romanoff find a still-alive Steve Rogers inside the Hydra Stomper armor. Rogers attacks them both before destroying the vessel.

A briefing with Nick Fury leads Romanoff to deduce that Rogers, who went missing in 1953, was brainwashed by agents of the Red Room. Carter and Romanoff help Brock Rumlow protect Bucky Barnes, who is Rogers' next target, before incapacitating Rogers and traveling to a secret hideout in Scotland.

Attempts to reboot the suit fail as it is keeping Rogers alive, though each activation reduces chances of survival. Rogers then offers to help Carter take down the Red Room in hopes of finding a cure before escorting her and Romanoff to a former KGB test site. The three survive an ambush by various automated drones before Rogers' brainwashing is reactivated by Melina Vostokoff, who admits to staging the earlier events.

Carter battles Rogers while Romanoff fends off Vostokoff's Black Widows. After Carter pleads with him to stop fighting, Rogers flies towards the Red Room and destroys it in spite of her protests. Noticing Rogers move, Romanoff fires her grappling hook to latch onto him and ties it to Vostokoff, who dies in the explosion.

Sometime later, Carter, convinced Rogers is still alive, decides to find him. As she bids Romanoff farewell, a portal opens beneath Carter's feet and transports her to another universe, where she encounters medieval-era variants of Fury and Wanda Maximoff.

In 2012, Tony Stark saves New York by redirecting a nuclear missile towards the Chitauri mothership, but the wormhole closes before he can return to Earth. Stark crash-lands on Sakaar and is forced to stay by its ruler, the Grandmaster.

Tony interferes in a death race to save one of the racers, Korg, and encounters Gamora, who was sent by Thanos to kill Stark for stopping the Chitauri. The Grandmaster's chief enforcer, Topaz, imprisons Gamora and Stark. Stark escapes, but upon learning of Gamora's purpose, decides to save Sakaar from the Grandmaster.

Tony recruits Korg and Valkyrie, builds a new Iron Man suit and challenges the Grandmaster to a race for the title of Sakaar's ruler. The Grandmaster uses numerous cheating methods, but Stark ultimately wins the race.

Valkyrie crashes into Topaz to save Stark's life, causing her staff to hit and melt the Grandmaster. After Valkyrie is crowned king of Sakaar, Stark joins Gamora in confronting Thanos.

Having been convinced by Iron Man to forge her own path rather than live in her father's shadow, Gamora kills him with Topaz's staff. In a mid-credits scene, the still-alive Grandmaster begs Topaz to collect his puddle form.
