Kristel is half of the powerhouse team behind Your Super, one of the biggest superfood brands in the U.S. and Europe. In just over 8 years, Your Super transformed from zero to hero, with a whopping $200 million in revenue and an exit in October 2022.
Your Super was launched when Kristel’s partner, Michael, was diagnosed with cancer at age 24. While Michael was going through chemo, Kristel started experimenting with the possibilities of using food as medicine. Together with her Orthomolecular Nutritionist Mom and her Aunt she developed organic superfood and plant protein mixes to help boost Michael's immunity and overall health.
From humble beginnings in Amsterdam, the company quickly spread across six continents and 60+ countries. With headquarters in the U.S., Your Super has helped millions of people to change their lifestyle and feel better with the power of plants.
This female founder is a force to be reckoned with. She is the mastermind behind Your Super formulas, packaging and branding. Bio:
I am a Floridian, born and raised in Satellite Beach near Cape Canaveral. I grew up a competitive cheerleader and figure skater with a love of science and the outdoors. My childhood experiences taught me the values of precision, poise, humility and respect. Becoming a surgeon was a natural choice as these values are the very backbone of training and practice. I pursued my passion and received my Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Florida. While in college, I had the chance to intern in plastic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. It was then I realized I must become a plastic surgeon. I was enthralled by the intricacies and details of their surgeries and enamored by the dissection and surgical outcomes. Like an artist, the human body became the canvas, and the scalpel became a brush. Having my goal in mind, I remained true to my Florida roots and continued my medical education at Florida State University where I graduated and started the long journey through surgical training.
I spent five incredible years in general surgery residency with some of the nation’s best surgeons at Advent Health in Orlando, Florida. From there, it was time for a change of seasons as I matched in a plastic surgery fellowship at Summa Health in Akron, Ohio. I have completed all surgical training, and I am currently board-certified in general surgery and board-certified in plastic surgery. I look forward to sharing my talent and passion with you all as your newest plastic surgeon in Orlando, Florida!

Sara McGlothlin is a holistic health coach, health writer, cookbook author, wellness entrepreneur and yoga/fitness teacher based in Richmond, VA.
