  • On this episode of Generation Red: A Husker Podcast, Scott and Ken discuss the State of the Husker football program following the loss to UCLA.

Rather than covering the game in detail, the guys tackle some difficult questions that are swirling around the Husker football program after the lack of effort they saw in the shocking loss to the previously 2-5 UCLA Bruins.

This is more of a philisophical discussion, as opposed to a breakdown of what went wrong. Why bother? We all saw it. Tonight, we try to answer the question of why. Who is Nebraska? Why do they play so well in Columbus a week ago, and then literally crap the field at home against one of the worst teams in the conference? I am not sure if we ever arrive at any answers, but at least we believe it was therapeutic,

  • On this episode of Generation Red: A Husker Podcast, Ken and Scott look back at the nearly-miraculous Saturday morning in Columbus, OH. Not only did the Huskers basically shut down one of the most explosive offenses in college football, but they also scored some points in the second half! TEN of them! AND THREE FIELD GOALS!!!!! What happened?

Of course, not a single bigtime game can go by without the B1G referees inserting themselves and/or NOT asserting themselves when necessary. The boys discuss this with the aid of some screenshots from Twi-X.

They break down the offense, defense, and give their main take aways and MVP award before turning their attention to previewing the UCLA game on Nov 2.

  • On this episode of Generation Red: A Husker Podcast, Ken and Scott attempt to explain just what the heck happened on the road against #16 Indiana. They dive into some numbers from the offense, defense and give their main takeaways before naming a Game MVP, which wasn't really much of a contest. Only one player stood out, while everyone else just stood there for four quarters and took a beating. Then the boys switch gears to cover the upcoming trip to Columbus by comparing all the season stats for both teams and make their doom and gloom score predictions. What else can we do after a performance like that?We hope you enjoyed this episode, and we would love for you to contact us with questions, comments, or suggestions. The cover their overall impressions, give their main takeaways going into the first bye week of the 2024 Husker football season, and give out the Game MVP Award.

Then, they shift their attention to previewing the Huskers upcoming road trip to Bloomington to take on the undefeated Indiana Hoosiers on October 19th. This game will mark Nebraska's second trip into the state and the guys compare the season stats for both teams, while also comparing the overall schedules for both teams and how well their opponents have faired throughout 2024. They finish up with a quick score prediction.

  • On this episode of Generation Red: A Husker Podcast, Scott and Ken react to the Huskers' important win in West Lafayette, IN over a pretty bad Purdue team. Even after the crazy scoreless first half, there was not doubt as to who the better team was, it just took more time than usual to establish their superiority. It was good to see a second half performance that Nebraska desperately needed.

The boys recap their overall impressions, share their main takeaways, award a game MVP and then preview the Rutgers game coming up this Saturday afternoon in Lincoln.

  • On this episode of Generation Red: A Husker Podcast, Scott and Ken have moved their show to Tuesday nights, and this show featured their reaction to the somewhat surprising loss to Illinois last Friday night, which spoiled the 400th Sellout Celebration. They give their overall impressions and main take-aways from the game, and finish up the recap by naming their Game MVP.

After that, they turned the page to the Purdue game coming up on Saturday morning in West Lafayette, IN. They go over the season stats for both teams before breaking down how they each see the game going, and finish things up with their score predictions.

  • On this episode of Generation Red: A Husker Podcast, Scott and I are in-studio tonight with his three brothers and special guest, Jake AKA: Texas Toast on Twitter! We talk about early Husker memories, what it's like seeing a game at Memorial Stadium when you know the team is good, and of course the game itself.

The defense was a little bit leaky, especially on 3rd down, while the offense was efficient and prolific, leading to zero punts by Brian Buschini and a comfortable win.

Then we turn our attention to next Friday's contest versus the Illini of Illinois, complete with stat comparisons and score predictions.

  • On this episode of Generation Red: A Husker Podcast, Scott and Ken recap the altogether enjoyable 28-10 beatdown of the Buffaloes, which should have and could have been worse...much worse. But they're pretty sure the refs couldn't get any worse. It was almost as if they may have had money on something...like the total points over/under, maybe?

However, I don't think anybody had an over/under for broken bones...which were 2. Both CU players. And of course, Rolex the Rapper left the field with 2 minutes to go. What a bad sport!

Anyway, the boys use a new approach and recap the game by presenting Three Takeaways each, and intersperse the latest clips from Coach BA's Breakdown. Being 2-0 feels incredible. Being 2-0 after beating the Vermin feels incredible times infinity.

At the end, they share a quick preview of UNI.

  • On this episode of Generation Red: A Husker Podcast, Scott and Ken are joined in-studio by three very special guests: Ken's wife, Wanda and his cousin Janelle and her husband Chuck, who are visiting Nebraska for the first time. Supposed Penn State fans, Chuck and Janelle were in Memorial Stadium Saturday afternoon for their very first major college football game. We talk with them both about their experience and then turn our attention to the game.

Dylan Raiola shined in his debut as the Huskers' starting QB, and the Blackshirts shut the Miners offense down after one quick strike drive to propel the Big Red to their very first opening week win since 2019. In fact it was also the first opening week at home since then as well.

We also debut a brand new segment on the show called Coach BA's Breakdown, where Coach Ben Aude, host of the BA Coach's Show breaks down two plays from Saturday's game: one on offense, and one on defense.

Derrick and Justin from the Husker Cuz Cast join Ken &Scott to present the 4th Annual installment of The Over/Under Game. We look at some of last season's offensive and defensive stats and try to determine how the 2024 team will perform in comparison. The six statistical categories we’ll be discussing are:Total Passing OffenseTotal Rushing OffenseScoring OffenseTotal Passing DefenseTotal Rushing DefenseScoring DefenseThere's a special player-related question after each category as well. • On this episode of Generation Red: A Husker Podcast, Scott and Ken welcome back Justin Adams from the Nebraska Football channel at the Voice of College Football on YouTube. After the usual ad reads and general podcast housekeeping, Justin updates the Generation Red audience with the latest in recruiting…namely, the recent commitment from Isaiah Mozee, and supremely talented wide receiver from Missouri, who’s father Jamal was recently added to the offensive staff. What implications - if any - could this flip of a highly touted Oregon commit mean for the likes of David Sanders, Jr? Or Michael Terry, now that Texas has landed their #1 target at receiver?

After that, it was time for the main topic; where based purely on speculation and the players getting the most buzz early in Fall Camp, the boys have a good time predicting the starters for the revamped Husker offense and their legacy quarterback, Dylan Raiola. The boys’ picks rarely differed, and there was great peace and tranquility in the Realm of the Red. Then they shifted their focus to the Blackshirts, which featured a lot of different opinions on who should be awarded the coveted practice jerseys..

  • On this episode of Generation Red: A Husker Podcast, Scott and Ken welcome two new guests
to the show. Justin Adams is the host of a successful Husker Football Recruiting channel at The
Voice of College Football. You can find his show at Nebraska Football
at the Voice of CollegeFootball on YouTube, and @The_HtownHusker on Twitter/X. Our other guest is Coach Ben
Aude, host of The BA Coach's Show on YouTube, and also available on any podcast app of
your choice. You can follow Coach @theBACoachsShow on Twitter/X
We start the show by talking about the HUGE talent that made their way to Nebraska over the
weekend, in the likes of #1 OT in the 2025 recruiting class, David Sanders, Jr. Also in town was
Oregon commit, 4 star WR Isaiah Mozee, who's father Jamar was
    just hired as an offensive
assistant to help coach receivers. Justin's specialty is recruiting, so he led the discussion, and
then talked about the visit with Phil Steele that the Voice of College Football recently hosted.
After that, we spent over an hour reviewing some clips of video from B1G Media Days, where
Isaac Gifford, Ty Robinson, Ben Scott and Head Coach Matt Rhule emphasized the concept of
    family at Nebraska.
Finally, we reviewed a clip of video featuring the SEC's biggest hot-take apologist, Paul
Finebaum, who took offense to Matt Rhule's comments about the B1G being the best
conference in college football. The commentary was incendiary for sure, but the response was
especially heated, including a tweet from friend of the show, Bryan, host of t
    he Husker Army
Podcast. It was a fun, silly segment about a silly man with silly SEC homer-ism, who feels his
job is to gatekeep college football and put everyone in their place who just don't auto-anoint the
SEC as the greatest thing ever to happen in the
    world of sport.

  • On this episode of Generation Red: A Husker Podcast, the guys are in-studio with former Husker Chancellor Brewington. Right out of the gate, they talked about how Chance made his way to Lincoln, why he felt it was such a good fit, and what it was like to play for the Huskers. Then they spent a good bit of time previewing the 2024 season, and how Chance feels about the culture changes, and the potential he sees in the receivers and TEs on this team. Finally, they finish up by discussing his current life in Lincoln, and what keeps him here as opposed to going home to Arizona. We also shared some fun facts about reading, Larry the Cable Guy, and cologne obsessions…and of course the charity golf outing coming up in October.

On this episode of Generation Red: A Husker Podcast, Scott and I are honored to be joined by
Nebraska Football legends Grant Wistrom & Jared Tomich. Anyone who watched the
    Blackshirts in the mid
    -
90's know who these fine gentlemen are, and many a former college
quarterback likely still experience night terrors after being pulverized by these two and their
    teammates. Peyton Manning, anyone?
We will talk to the guys about what they're up to these days, discuss the glory years, and the
Championship Mindset that was cultivated back then, and then ask them when and where they
believe the program began to slip. Then,we will have Grant & Jared answer a few questions
from our live audience, and social media. Finally, we wrap things up by discussing the current
team, and if The Bookends believe Matt Rhule and his 2024 Huskers will begin to right the ship,
and usher in a new Era of Nebraska Greatness on the national stage.

  • On this episode of Generation Red, A Husker Podcast, Scott and I go through Nebraska's schedule, game by game, to predict final scores...from two perspectives: Realistic and Drunk-As-Hell-On-Rhule-Aid.

We start with the realistic predictions, which were pretty optimistic considering what we've both seen since starting the podcast in 2021. Y'all remember 2021, right? The Greatest 3-9 Football Team in History?

Before moving into the Rhule-Aid predictions, we have a HUGE announcement at the midway point that you DO NOT want to miss.

BUUUUUURP!!!! After downing ginormous tumblers of Rhule-Aid, we dive into our optimistic views of how the season could play out...and if either one of us is right, Nebraska could very well be hosting a first round CFB Playoff game come December. Holy crap.

  • On this episode of Generation Red: A Husker Podcast, I am joined by Redcast Rob, who is in
town for the Spring Game. Scott wasn't able to join us as he had other plans, and the podcast
was unplanned. Rob came over to see the studio and signed the sign, and
    then we said: "Hey!
    Let's do a podcast!"
So we did. And fun was had by all until the tornado sirens started going off. So we wrapped it
up, and ended up sheltering in the basement for awhile.

  • On this episode of Generation Red: A Husker Podcast, we are back in the studio, where we are joined by Ravi Lulla from @hurrdatsports. He hosts Hurrdat Sports Radio every morning from7-10AM on AM 590 ESPN and ESPN Tri-Cities, where he and former Husker running backDamon Benning have a unique on-air chemistry that blends sports talk, in-depth philosophy, and some crazy rabbit trails to make for a fun and thoughtful show every morning. Ravi also serves as the Business Operations Manager at Hurrdat. For the first part of the show, we discuss Ravi's journey to Hurrdat. Then we transition intoSpring Football for the Huskers, and talk about the storylines that have grabbed his attention, expectations for the Spring Game, the position group that needs to make the biggest jump to help production, and our favorite binge worthy TV shows. Plus, because I am a forgetful old guy these days, we remembered to have Ravi sign our sign after we went off the air. Still, it added even more "cool factor" to our evolving exploits in [email protected] hope you enjoyed this episode, and we would love for you to contact us with questions, comments, or suggestions. • On this episode of Generation Red: A Husker Podcast (@genredpod), Scott and I list our the ten people in the Husker football program who will make an impact on the 2024season. Mind you, we said people...not just players. It has been a tumultuous last ten days or so for the program and the fanbase, and we're happy to get back to just talking football. There will be zero administration drama discussed on this show. None. Nada. Nyet. We have our opinions, but there's already a crap ton of them floating around the Husker Podcast Universe, and adding ours to them won't change what happened, nor influence the future, so we'll just stick to what we can control...making preseason lists. We hope you enjoyed this episode, and we would love for you to contact us with questions, comments, or suggestions.
