Are you delivering phenomenal results for your org but aren't getting the recognition and respect you deserve? Perhaps you're doing TOO good a job!
In today's value-packed episode I am talking about a problem a lot of new clients are struggling with.
Maybe you're seen as a 'reliable, safe pair hands' which on the face of it is great! But when you look a bit deeper, it can mean you're being trapped in a role you have outgrown when you're ready for that next STRETCH!
I'm sharing what signs to look out for and some strategies to combat this problem right away.
Join me!
Here is something I said today:
"Delivering more of the same results is a waste of your time! You have already demonstrated your ability to deliver: you have a solid track record. Now it's time to have a stretch in your career to develop your value proposition!" (Rebecca Allen, Host, Her Ambitious Career)

With the Bullet Mentoring Method, you could have 7 different mentors in a week and build credibility faster.... here's how!
Any mentoring relationship is about educating yourself, to fill a skills or knowledge gap or to learn from someone else's expertise and experience.Traditional mentoring can be longer term, 3-6 months and feel quite formal. Whilst Bullet Mentoring is a chance to learn from 7 different mentors in any given week and explode your knowledge faster!
There is huge value in engaging in both longer term and bullet mentoring of course but today, I am sharing my Bullet Mentoring method because it's phenomenally powerful!
Are you feeling curious?
That's good! That's exactly the attitude you want with bullet mentoring!

Are you ASSUMING or ABDICATING your own authority? It's the difference between backing yourself and believing in your value (and right) to be there... and abandoning all hope. I know which strategy I would rather adopt!
In my business I focus a lot of energy with clients on the concept of assuming your authority. When you crack this idea you make huge shifts in how you view yourself, how you start to show up and critically, how you are seen by the senior stakeholders around you.Today I am sharing 3 significant ways in which you could be abdicating - or abandoning - your own authority.
These 3 actions - or inactions - will be having a significant negative impact on your career right now and your ability to realise your true potential. That’s how important this strategy is.
So buckle up! We are going to be covering a lot today.
Something important I said today:
"So until you start assuming your authority, backing yourself and showing up with a heightened sense of your value proposition to your organisation, you are likely doing something else entirely: you are likely abdicating, or abandoning, your authority and missing all the best opportunities in your career." (Rebecca Allen, Host, Her Ambitious Career podcast)

Are you looking for a speaker for your next Women in Leadership conference or event?
In this episode I am giving you the lowdown on my signature talk, The 5 Strategic Career Tips Women Don’t Ever Get, But Critically Need.
So if you're looking for a fresh conversation at your next International Women's Day event, conference or panel discussion this could be the ideal practical speech to enrich and empower your audience.
Women who are struggling to get promoted to leadership are often told they have a confidence 'problem' and just need to learn to be more assertive and speak up more. This kind of advice is usually missing the point.
Women don't have a confidence problem; they have a strategy problem.
And in this talk, The 5 Strategic Career Tips Women Don’t Ever Get, But Critically Need, I am sharing the precise strategies 21st century women need to be successful and fulfilled by their careers.
Tune in and let me share an introduction about this speech.
Download Rebecca Allen's Speaker Bio hereCheck Rebecca out at www.illuminategrowth.com.au
Something I said today:
"Once you know this game-changing advice, and start acting on it, you move from being stuck (in a role you’ve possibly outgrown) to being recognised and rewarded for your impact. Women who come to my talks say to me all the time that this advice is genuinely life-changing because quite frankly, if you don’t know what you don’t know.... how can you possibly get what you want?"

Ania is sharing tips on:
1. How change impacts people, and how to lead effectively through transformation
2. What makes a successful leader during unpredictable times
3. How to look after yourself first, because as the leader, you're still part of the Change
4. Managing emotions such as grief, guilt and fear (uncertainty) as your team moves through Change
5. How to embed Change over the longer term, by constantly coming back to original objectives, and reinforcing benefits, after each phase ends
6. Assume people don't understand to ensure your communication of the Change is always clear
7. How to frame Change positively
8. Personnel change and redundancy (17:00 mins)
9. Leading through Technological change (22:30 mins)
10. What Ania loves MOST about Change! (27:00 mins)
Something Ania said:
"As a leader navigating a changing landscape, it's important to give people in your team space for their thoughts and feelings... so it's about regularly checking in on people. What's motivating them? What's making them unhappy? Particularly with restructures, it's important to be as transparent as possible based on what you do know and being honest about what you can't share yet." (Ania Archer, guest on Her Ambitious Career - the podcast)

The start of a new year is the perfect time to review both our good (and bad) habits.
Much research has been made into the negative impact that social media, and technological over-use, has on mental health...
I don't know about you but I find that when I'm doing mindless tasks online - like reading unwanted emails, searching for emails (or files) I can't find, or getting sucked into the social media vortex - not only do I waste a lot of time, I find I'm also unfocused on much more important tasks that need my attention!
In today's ep I am sharing 7 quick steps you can take today to declutter and detox your digital activity...
We are looking at inboxes, Apps, mailing lists and organising folders...
So you can stop wasting time and start getting back in control of your time - and sanity!

Are you bored setting goals? Me too! Here's a fresh way to commit to yourself this year!
I want to run a half marathonI want to get promotedI want a bigger carI want to lose weight
When we talk about goal setting, we are often looking only at what we want to DO or HAVE in our lives:But the problem with these kinds of goals is, they don't tell us how to behave any differently to actually get that result.
So in today's ep, I am sharing my thoughts on looking at the commitments you make to yourself slightly differently. We are looking at goal setting from the angle of BECOMING someone slightly different to achieve your result! Join me.
Here's something valuable I said today:"Being proactive, about creating the outcomes you want this year in your life and career, starts by understanding who you need to BECOME to actually achieve it. This implies a real shift in behaviour - which is exactly what is needed." (Rebecca Allen, host of Her Ambitious Career - The Podcast)

Reviewing the year you just had, your impacts and growth areas is critical to your wellbeing and growth!
Wow... it's the last day of 2024 - what just happened? When did you feel alive and fulfilled this year? What did you achieve that makes you proud?Where did you proactively create opportunity for yourself?
I really think one of the most valuable things you can do, regularly, is reviewing your progress.
These are some important questions to be asking yourself regularly.. but what better time to do it than TODAY, at the end of a year, to help remind you of your impact and value?
Here's something valuable I said today:"How proactive were you in 2024 about creating the opportunities you needed in your career?" (Rebecca Allen, host of Her Ambitious Career - The Podcast)

Learning agility is a major buzzword right now and if you want to be at the cutting edge of leadership, these 5 skills could be exactly what you need!

What happens when our young boys have positive, male role models? They learn the lessons of respect, kindness and equity. Let's talk about this vital topic today.
In this episode I am sharing a personal story.
My son is 8 and he plays football (soccer) with his mates three times a week. Not only is he improving his football skills, he is also cementing his learning to be a good kid - and ultimately a good man. How? Because the lead coach at his club is a natural leader and one who (seemingly) effortlessly earns the respect of the other coaches, the kids and the parents.
This is such an important topic and one I hope you'll listen to til the end. Comment by becoming a member of my free facebook group!
Here's something valuable I said today:"One of the important factors that often gets forgotten when we talk about creating an equitable world is the value and importance of the work that has to go into coaching and supporting our young boys. What kinds of people do we want our boys to look up to and want to emulate?" (Rebecca Allen, host of Her Ambitious Career - The Podcast)

I live for those phone calls from clients, jumping up and down, telling me they’ve got that promotion, negotiated a seismic pay rise or have moved into a role completely aligned with their mission, values and strengths. I’m a working mum of two wonderful children, adore travel and trying my hand at anything creative. I’d love to connect with you!
