Episode 11 - A Poet's Dream with Guest Phedora LynnPhedora spent the first 11 years of her life in Labuan, Sabah. In 2008, her family relocated to Kuala Lumpur. She has since spent 12 years in the city and can safely be labeled as a city girl. Phedora majored in human resource management at the International University of Malaya-Wales (IUMW). Although she started writing at a young age, she only actively pursued writing at the age of 21.
Phedora has always wanted her debut as a writer to begin with a sci-fi novel, but life took her on a different turn and she fell in love with contemporary poetry instead. In June 2017, following the end of her long-term relationship, she started actively writing and sharing her poetry on her official page @phes.poetry on Instagram.
In December of 2017, Phedora self-published her first raw collection of poems (under the pen name Nori Ryoko) titled “#ShittyPoetry”. It is a collection of poetry that revolves around love, heartbreaks, and a slice of life. Since publishing her first book, she began dabbling in the art of the spoken word. After graduation, Phedora is now working full-time in a corporate environment. She hopes to someday fund the dreams she has always been passionate about and take the leap of faith to realize her goals.Stay Tuned at Impact Valley! ✨

Doctors On Ground (DnG) @dngmalaysia was founded in January 2021 by Arissa Jemaima and Dr. Syazana Ali. It is an initiative to provide easier access for vulnerable communities, primarily refugees, to medical advice, consultation, and services. It also centers the focus towards combating medical discrimination and stigma in Malaysia.
Dr. Syazana is the co-founder of Doctors On Ground (DnG). As a medical doctor and family medicine specialist-in-training, she is also currently pursuing her Masters's in family medicine and leads the DnG medical team of doctors and students.
Arissa Jemaima is the co-founder of Doctors On Ground (DnG) and Women For Refugees (WFR) - NGOs that work primarily with refugees in Malaysia. She is currently pursuing her undergrad in international relations and international law and is expected to graduate in 2023. Her topics of interest are human rights, youth empowerment, and mental health.

Episode 4 - "Cancer Is A Journey, Not A Battle"
"My name is Razak, 24 years old, state of origin is Sarawak. I finished my education at UNIMAS, and Public Health college Malaysia. I am currently living in Malacca and working in the government sector.
I used to work as an English commentator at Sarawak river cruise and was a private teacher at a private institution (less privileged) school, taught low-income SPM and orphans in Kuching.
I've been diagnosed with cancer at the age of 22 in 2019 at Queen Elizabeth, Kota Kinabalu. Capturing the attention of many cancer fighters on my Facebook due to my active lifestyle and motivation I gave them esp among senior citizen."
In 2019, Abdul Razak bin Hamdan received the devasting news that he had thyroid cancer. Three years later, Razak is now a successful business owner in Kuching, selling his childhood favorite dessert - Putu Piring Ibuk.

Episode 6 - The Art Of Debating with Guest Keana Reinu
Keana Reinu, Founder of Asia Youth Speakers, Coach. Asia Youth Speakers @asiayouthspeakers
is a collective of young passionate minds seeking to educate, empower, and express ourselves through the art of debating.
With almost 15 years of competitive debating & public speaking experience, her career has been focused on student education since 2013. She has judged countless prestigious international competitions and coached at youth speaking camps such as the World Federation of United Nations Associations Youth Camp in South Korea, and most notably became the first Malaysian to ever hold a position on the Chief Adjudicators Panel at the World Schools Debating Championship in Germany, 2016.
Along the way, she has coached hundreds of students of various backgrounds and experience levels both domestically and internationally. Making history, she also coached the first Malaysian teams to ever represent the nation at the Cambridge Schools Finals Day and Oxford Schools Finals Day in 2017, Harvard World Schools Invitational 2018, and the International Competition for Young Debaters held in Oxford, 2020. -
Episode 3 - "I have a dream to build a school"
Peter (Tawk Lian Sang), from Myanmar 🇲🇲.
He is a Refugee Teacher in Malaysia, Chairman of the Chin Student Organisation, and Initiator of Rescue Action - an initiative to donate groceries for the vulnerable and needy Chin communities. He has been volunteering in teaching at Chin Student Organisation Malaysia for 7 years. He also is the Chairman of the Chin Student Organisation Malaysia. Chin Student Organisation formed in 2005, a charity to supports The Chin Refugee community living in Kuala Lumpur. They run schools to give children access to education.
He is a refugee teacher at a rented space located in Pudu, Selangor. He taught English, Math, and Science to 15 Chin students from Grade 1, 2, 3, and 4. Peter had faced a lot of challenges in providing a high-quality educational curriculum and materials to the students. At the same time, he is lacking manpower, financial issues, and a proper teaching setting.
"My dream and priority are to build a school for my students. The kids and teenagers from my community are missing so much in education. We can't fill the gap and we have missed a lot in their education. So, we have to start from the ground to make sure they have a strong foundation to go to their secondary education. English is one of the best subjects to teach my students because I think English is important for them."
Currently, Peter had 3 volunteers from UK and Malaysia.
He is eagerly looking for volunteers and financial support to move to a better setting or place to teach the students. -

Lei Wang 王雷, a mountaineer, motivational speaker, executive coach, is the first Chinese woman and the Asian-American who have successfully beat the record in climbing the Seven Summits — Mountain Kilimanjaro, Denali, Elbrus, Aconcagua, Carstensz Pyramid, Vinson, and Everest—are the highest peaks on each of the seven continents and skied to both the North Pole and the South Pole, the so-called Explorers Grand Slam.
