Two 911 calls, a salon, and witches.
In the fall of 2023, 30-year-old Yoshua Monday moved into an apartment with friends in Angola, Indiana.
Less than a month after he moved in, 56-year-old Bryan Hall was shot dead inside his apartment.
Investigators were able to piece the puzzle together quickly, but what was the motive?
If you or someone you know is struggling, resources are available in the US 24/7 at SAMHSA - Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration

After Felipe Santos and Terrance Williams vanished in Naples, Florida, investigators turned their attention to the last person both men were known to have contact with and that was Collier County Deputy Steve Calkins.
When Calkins sat down to talk, his stories about his interactions with the missing men left more questions than answers.
As the years passed, other officers came forward and spoke about their experiences with Corporal Calkins.
Felipe Santos and Terrance Williams remain missing.
If you have any information about the disappearances of Felipe Santos or Terance Williams, please contact the Collier County Sheriff's Office at 239-252-9300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS. There is $200,000 reward for information.

This week Margot with Military Murder Podcast is here filling in!
On May 13, 1998, an unsettling discovery was made beneath a billboard in Mebane, NC - the lifeless body of a young boy. This tragic finding raised haunting questions: Who was this child? Had he been murdered elsewhere before being dumped in this desolate spot, perhaps weeks earlier?
What added to the mystery was the heartbreaking reality that no one had reported a little boy missing, leaving his identity shrouded in darkness. Whith scant evidence on the scene and the body, the case went cold.
Yet, amidst this despair, one determined investigator refused to give up. Driven by an unwavering commitment to justice, they continued to search for answers. And then, in an astonishing turn of events in December 2018, the truth finally came to light; the identity of the boy was uncovered.
This is more than just a story of loss; it's a testament to perseverance, the relentless pursuit of justice, and the hope that even in the darkest times, the truth can find a way to emerge. Join us as we delve into this gripping tale of mystery and resolution.
Dig in with Margot, as she tells you the gripping mystery and resolution of the murders of Bobby Whitt and Myong Whitt.

Nearly three decades, an unlikely suspect, and a new sheriff in town.
On September 21st 1996, 15-year-old, Danielle Houchins made the short trip from her home to Cameron Bridge in Belgrade, Montana. She was only supposed to be gone a few hours.
When Danni didn’t return, a search was launched and hours later her body was found in a marsh.

100,000 photographs, a survivor, and a monster hiding in plain sight.
In September of 2022 neighbors in the 300 block of Old Orchard Avenue in Excelsior Springs awoke to a nightmare.
A young woman was beating on their doors begging for help, telling neighbors that her friends didn’t make it and “he” was coming to kill her.
As law enforcement began their investigation, they were led to 301 Orchard Avenue, the home of 39-year-old Timothy Haslett Junior. And what they found behind the doors of that home led many to believe there was a serial killer on the loose in Kansas City.

Hurricane Milton came and threw us all for a loop. Thankfully, Kim from A Million Other Choices podcast is here filling in with the case of Alison Parrott.
Eleven year old Alison Parrott left her upscale Rosedale home on July 25, 1986 to get her picture taken with her winning track and field team.
She never returned home and her body was found 2 days later in Kings Mill Park.
Ten years later the technology used to find the Scarborough Rapist - one Paul Bernardo - would also lead to Alison't killer and finally justice for her family.

Due to some unexpected circumstances, I was unable to get an episode out this week. However, our friends, Lori and Jen at Dealing Justice have just dropped a new season and they were gracious enough to share their first episode from Season 3 with us!
Fourteen-year-old Anthony Lamar Peterson went missing during the summer of 2005 while visiting family in Palatka, Florida.
Days later, his unrecognizable body was found floating in Deep Creek, just miles from where he was last seen.
In a bizarre twist, Anthony's remains would go unidentified for months, leaving his mother to search the small rural town in vain for her only son.

A missing wallet, secret recordings, and a trundle bed.
As the trial for Christopher Palmiter continued, he testified about the days leading up to 11-year-old Madalina Cojocari’s disappearance.

Vacuum marks, a brightly colored blanket, and Christmas tinsel. In November of 2007, 68-year-old, Sara Dixon was found shot to death inside her home in Burlington, North Carolina. From the moment investigators arrived at the home on McCray Road it appeared that the scene had been staged to look like a robbery gone wrong. While it appeared nothing of value had been taken, there were several clues left behind; Christmas tinsel stuck to the door, an empty picture hanger, and a footprint in the carpet. A year after Sara’s murder a man walked into the police station and gave investigators a small piece of information that unraveled the entire case. Another ruling, two new trials, and brand new charges.
After the ruling by Judge Blackwood, the prosecution fought to save the verdicts.
When the dust settled there would be two retrials.
Twelve years after the murders, the man the Newsom family believed had murdered their son would finally be charged with murder.

Two trials, an impaired judge, and a ruling that shocked everyone.
George Thomas and Vanessa Coleman were both tried for their roles in the murders.
As Judge Richard Baumgartner struggled to read the verdict, many questioned whether the judge was impaired.
Baumgartner blamed his medical issues, however and investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation revealed something much darker that put all four verdicts in jeopardy.
