The Ninety-Nine Novels Podcast delves into Anthony Burgess's 1984 survey of twentieth century literature, Ninety-Nine Novels: The Best in English Since 1939. The book is a personal, and somewhat idiosyncratic, selection of Burgess’s favourite novels, and not only stimulates debate but acts as a crash-course in the literature that inspired and influenced Burgess throughout his career. The Ninety-Nine Novels Podcast invites experts to illuminate Burgess’s choices, and includes episodes on famous masterworks to unjustly forgotten gems. The Ninety-Nine Novels Podcast releases two series a year, and has featured episodes on Thomas Pynchon, Iris Murdoch, V.S. Naipaul and Ian Fleming.

¿Qué hace que una persona que vive en pequeñas ciudades como Halifax, Winnipeg o Victoria tenga una idea de cómo es Canadá? En el exterior del país, ¿qué imágenes existen de Canadá en Antofagasta, Córdoba, Barquisimeto o Cajamarca, sin hablar de las grandes capitales del mundo de habla castellana?
Una respuesta, siempre parcial, se encuentra en los textos que tienen como escenario las distintas ciudades de Canadá, el segundo país más grande del mundo. La circulación y la memoria de esos textos va dando forma poco a poco a un imaginario de lo que creemos que es este país.
A partir de algunas páginas tomadas de la literatura canadiense, les presentamos algunos lugares, calles, ciudades y locales que han quedado grabados en esos trabajos. De paso conoceremos brevemente algunas de las preocupaciones e intereses de las y los autores canadienses. -

סופרות לאחור הינו הסכת ספרותי חדש מבית "מדברים עברית" בהנחיית הסופרות מעין רוגל ונילי אסיא, המתמקד בספרות מתח ובלש. כל עונה מורכבת מארבעה פרקים ומתמקדת בספר בלש אחד בדגש על ספרות מקור, ספרים מהבקליסט (ישנים, נשכחים, לא מוכרים) ובספרים המתמקדים בבלשים ובלשיות מהשוליים לדוגמא, בלשים להטבי"ם, בני מיעוטים, נשים, שחורים, על הרצף וכו'. בכך מבקשת "עברית" להמשיך ולתמוך בספרות ישראלית, להאיר ספרות מקור מוצלחת לדורות חדשים שלא מכירים אותה, ולתת עדנה מחודשת לסופרים ותיקים.
כללי המשחק
מעין ונילי וצוות "עברית" בוחרים ספרים שהם לא קראו מעולם או שקראו ושכחו. עבור כל פרק משלושת הפרקים הראשונים מעין ונילי קוראות שליש מהספר, כך שהפודקאסט מתחקה אחרי חווית הקריאה של הספר בלייב בדומה לבוק קלאב. בפרק הרביעי, מתארח או מתארחת הסופר.ת והמנחות מראיינות אותו סביב היצירה. במידה והסופר.ת אינו זמין המנחות תארחנה מרואיינים אחרים הקשורים ליצירה והפרק יהפוך להיות פרק בונוס.
