The Signature sounds of the 1970s Underground of which bore seeds to cultivate the very essence of Soul, Harvested from Blues & Jazz syphoned through influential Funk cultivated out the oppression and Greater depression of this time was to become a beacon of hope as no matter what situation you were in be it financially or the like's you could guarantee the Uplifting ,Suggestive and often relatable Lyrics were all you needed to be transported to within a safe space where nothing outside either Harmful or Detrimental to your state of mind would or could harm!
This place later became too infectious to contain as it served as a beacon of light and hope for all who Sought her confines and promise of warmth embrace & Sanctuary… We once knew this hallowed confined space as a DANCE-FLOOR.
This relatable hallmark Sound was used as the template of Disco & later Dance 80s morphing and being experimented on numerous times throughout the eighties to feed the forever changing demands of Producers and DJs to feed their quest for uniqueness and Fame.
The near eradication of Soul Musics dominance was nearly achieved as recording artists and their outdated melodies found contracts, Record distributions and an audience for their crafts dwindled as many sought the High octane sounds which many rode along to fuelled by an Un-natural high!
Not Me! I never stopped Soul Searching as Many in the game replaced their once cherished Records for CDs [Compact Disc’s].
My Venue’s & Gigs reduced during this Un-Soulful period! But never died! And then as the new Decade turned… So did our fortunes.
A Resistance emerged once more! This time from the Underworld of the UK.
Armed with an array of Respected Army of influential Musicians Producers Disc Jockeys and record Labels/Stores armed with a rich history through the Origins of Jazz, The Mysticism of Blues of Funk, and yearning for the Sweetness of Mother Embrace Acid Jazz was born… My adoption of this Revived sound was without compromise, With all forms released on record Media, My fire was re-ignited and fuelled many of our Legendary NightSpots for so many of the 90s glory years.
As we welcome the Solar ray’s as Sunshine makes a return this Bank Holiday weekend over many parts of the UK, And a perfect backdrop for this months celebration marking 20 sumptuous years of Broadcasting Soul A.M,

International Music lovers of the World...and beyond,
This week we touch down wishing a year that the corporations once again pounced to hijack the euphoric and unstoppable beats rhythms and rhymes that infected our scene since the turn of the decade,
Reminiscent of the Decade before like when Disco ruled the airwaves dance-floors fashion and record stores.
observing with envious eyes and ears the Intensionally Infiltrated the positively charged undiluted and uplifting sounds from the 70s underground, once again praying for the day to assimilate this uplifting groove that had grown since 81-85 that its potency had the capability to induce true uplifting vibes seen since the 70s.
This was unacceptable to them hence releasing a negative frequency that whilst undetectable to most! The dilution of Soul within our music was the objective but it would take time! And time is what they had.
The introduction of studio created dance music originally crafted by DJs using deep R&B cuts as an evolutionary celebration bubbled away within the true underground known as Jack trax or Garage House was perfect to use as its potential was easier to create whilst its popularity was the right platform to aid in the dismantling of the age old craft of making music with instruments that has for an eternity lifted spirits through it’s possible frequency’s through dedication to become one with instruments.
The meteoric rise of house was no coincidence with its infectious repetitive groove was slowly tweaked to emulate a darker tone! its popularity became to hard to contain...
Thus history was primed to repeat it self once again,

Laying witness to how energy is created by the body was one thing ! witnessing first hand how thermo-nuclear kinetic energy was created between Ying n Yang was something else completely previously only being subjected to house parties (remember those] with elders Rump-Shaking to the Bump & the now legendary Hustle or older siblings practicing their moves in front of the mirror before stepping out thankfully good old TOTPs and the Kenny Everett shows were on hand with Dancers teasing my young mind seductively through suggestive thrusts and poses indicating that there was more to Nite-life than I thought that I knew.
Little did I know the music that once sounded reminiscent to Disco was about evolve once more s the 1980s cranked up the wheels of fortune…Feeding this new found positivity to not only make the Dance-Floors shake your very skeleton with Bass but would make the very Planet Rock…

We continue to back track this now definitive season which is best served fluid to give you a sample of what made us feel fine when we stepped out on the tiles of the late 1970s … Music lovers introducing to you the Mighty 1979,
The year the hottest disco sounds shook your skeleton as the clubs base pins caressed your very soul within parties clubs and bars that were packed at the weekend. Artists and Records labels unleashed hit after hit by jocks cueing up to Mix as your favourite club DJ floated above the celestial space known as the dance-floor like gods looking down upon the earth, like a lord behind a pew to unleash the lover in you…
Records stores spread across the lands armed with the latest U.S jams, serving the best for you to share, If they did not have… you simply beat the streets elsewhere! Until you found the hottest cuts to make your sets an essential must…
But for the grace of record stores and dance floors were not enough to feed your crave the walkman became the latest craze,
like wearing a complete hifi on your hip! Tell someone back then they did not feel slick, only bettered I guess by multiple pairs of wheels as roller skating to your tunes making you feel like no other…
Unless you had a BMX bike Chopper, Grifter chipper or trike!
To make your outside experience feel like dynamite.
Roller Boogies had us scaring around a ring, and yes skateboards were also my thing armed with lime crypto’s to make you glide slalom & Bunny hop all to disco funk and Electro Rock…
There is so many fond memories to make you feel fine!

A tempo is born from 4 beats on the floor! Creating an uplifting tempo, that kept you up all night craving for more, more, more…
Being overweight in club world was rare… As your moves toned by the Grooves burned the calories away! As body positivity became the new rage?
We wished the working week away! To get out in front of your Local DJ…
As the euphoria grew! So did your blood pressure! What was once reserved for behind closed doors was now displayed on the dance floors! Hedonistic Voyouristic flirtatious… and very dangerous!!
Little did we know hanging loose would soon be blamed… As out of the darkness came AIDs…
Something that has never sat quite right with the name… almost as if it was man-made to shame.
The birth of the Disc Jockey was also born, spinning the latest Sound's a few Pioneered the craft in the Art of melding beats matching rarities into new uplifting feats out of the lofts & Garages Block parties often replicated but never quite re-created,
Groovy tunes popular on the streets were cut up into beats from sounds seg-wayed straight from the Get down!
The objective… to extend the joyful parts of the records, inspiring the extended hits aka the 12” mix.
