Ravens and Bengals put on another thriller, but it would come late in the second half of the game. The Ravens trailed by 14 late in the third quarter, and per usual Lamar Jackson had another 'superman' performance to help propel them pass the Bengals. This win would help the Ravens complete yet another sweep of the Bengals for the second consective season. The last regular season win the Bengals have over the Ravens would be back in the 2022 season.
Though the Ravens were able to squeak out a 35-34 win, it would be costly as they surrendered over 457 yards and 5 touchdowns to Bengals star receiver, Ja'Marr Chase. With this being said, can the secondary be fixed? Is Zach Orr (or Dean Pees) the problem? Can the Ravens win in the playoffs? The Baltimore Ravens 5 game win streak came to a screeching halt by the hand of an AFC North Division rival, the Cleveland Browns. There's many to blame for this loss: the offense dropped passes, the defense dropped INTs, Justin Tucker missed a field goal. At the end of the day, they are a team and this was for sure a TEAM loss.
With that being said, the Ravens are 9.5 point favorites against the Broncos (sounds familiar? so were they last week against the Browns) and they will have a test against one of the league's top pass defenses. The Ravens will take their talents to Cleveland as they will face their second divisional opponent this season in the Browns. The Browns lone win would come in week two against the Jags, however since then they have loss 5 straight. If that is not enough, this past Sunday they would lose their franchise QB, Deshaun Watson, for the year with a torn achilles.
The Ravens go into Cleveland as the top offensive juggernaut in the NFL. The QB/RB duo of Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry has been sensational this season. They could go down as one of the greatest duos in the history of the NFL. With all of the highs of the offense, there is one noticeable low on the defense, the secondary. Last week, the secondary appeared to be turning somethings around with Marlon Humphrey consective picks on Baker Mayfield. But that was almost forgettable as the Ravens would allow 21 points to the Bucs offense. Will the secondary's performance improve with the return of Arthur Maulet? The Ravens offense has been 'red hot' this past month with Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry leading the way. This is seemingly becoming the best QB/RB duo in recent memory, or maybe in NFL history. Tonight was no different. Though they got off to a slow start in the first two drives, and found themselves in a 10-0 deficit. They would quickly find their footing, and it was all down hill for the Bucs from there. Lamar Jackson and company would score 17 unanswered, and two big interceptions on the Bucs ensuing drives would help set Baltimore up with their halftime lead 17-10.
After half time, Ravens would only punt once and rack up 24 additional points as Lamar Jackson would have another 5 touchdown night. Derrick Henry would end the night with a total of 182 yards and a touchdown. Mark Andrews would make history with his touchdowns as now being most in franchise history. The resiliency of this team is breathtaking, and even with a slightly abismal start the appear to be unstoppable. Can the Ravens go on a run? What team can stop this offense? The highly anticipated matchup between 2X NFL MVP Lamar Jackson and 2023 Heisman Trophy Winner Jayden Daniels for sure did not disappoint. They both held their own and accounted for 654 total yards and 3 touchdowns. Of course, the Ravens played take away ball as they dominated T.O.P. for 36 minutes and ran the ball over 150+ yards on just 37 touches.
Jayden Daniels was not to be taken lightly, as he carved up the Ravens underperforming secondary spreading the ball around and throwing 2 touchdowns to star receiver, Terry McLaurin. He played very poise, very collective, very DEMURE (lol). However, it was not enough as the Ravens were able to use their “closer” Derrick Henry to once again add to their multi-game win streak. With that being said, is this the Ravens “new identity”? Should we be concerned about the secondary? Can the Ravens compete in the postseason now? This game is setting itself up to be an absolute delight on Sunday afternoon at the M&T Bank stadium. Jayden Daniels, rookie from LSU, and the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner, is taking the NFL by storm. The Commanders have won 4 straight games and have outscored their opponents 135-78, and in 3 of their last 4 wins they have held their opponents under 20 points (avg about 15ppg). They have also outscored the AFC North 72-46 scoring 3TD and INT.
On the other hand, the Ravens have also been on quite a streak. They won their their last three games some would say in dramatic fashion (at least the last one lol). Lamar Jackson is playing MVP caliber football and could be on his way to a 3rd. He has only thrown 1 interception this season, 9 touchdowns, and 4 of those touchdowns came against the Bengals last week.
Can the Commanders pull off the upset? Can the Ravens stifle the Commanders offense and take advantage of their less than talented secondary? Will Ravens secondary issues continue? All this and more on another episode of Purple Pride Power Hour!

The Baltimore Ravens and Cincinatti Bengals put on a game for the ages. It is being said this game for sure will be a GOTY (game of the year) candidate. Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow account for 962 total yards and 9 touchdowns. Jamaar Chase nearly repeated his performance against the Ravens two years ago with 193 yards and 2 touchdowns. But, not so fast because Lamar's favorite receiver, Isaiah Likely, also was able to get in the endzone twice. There can be much said about the defenses in this game, but both did not come to play.
In my opinion, Lamar Jackson is having another MVP caliber season as he is the glue to this Baltimore Ravens team. Without his quick and efficient decision-making I do not see the Ravens riding this 3 game win-streak. This game most definitely has proven his elite status. On the other hand, how does this affect the pass defense? Can they get things together? Can the Bengals dig themselves out a 1-4 start? Is Joe Burrow still elite? This game has much to be desired. On the one hand, the Ravens are riding a two-game win streak after starting the season 0-2. On the other hand, the Bengals loss three straight, but were able to get their first win of the season last week against a less-talented squad in the Carolina Panthers. So, we can safely say both teams could slowly be trending upward. However, this game is a little different. This will be the first AFC North divisional game for the year.
Ravens have outscore their last two opponents 65-35 and have led the league with over 1700 total yards of offense. Lamar Jackson is 8-2 all time against the Bengals in his career, while Burrow is just 3-4. Will the Ravens get their third consecutive win? Can the Bengals stop Derrick Henry? Will Joe Burrow expose the Ravens secondary? All this and more on another episode.

It would take just one play from the offense on the first drive to establish the tone for this game. Derrick Henry's first play from scrimmage would go for 87 yards to the house. He would end the night with over 200 total yards of offense and two total touchdowns. Lamar Jackson was also sensational, and as the unquestionable leader of this team, it's only up from here. The Ravens would steam roll the Bills as they cruise to a 35-10 win.
Now with that being said, will the Ravens finally accept that running the ball down their opponents throats is simply, THEIR IDENTITY? They lead the league in not only running the ball but defending the run as well. This offense will be lethal if teams are unable to defend it. On the other hand, were the Bills exposed? Ravens are set to host the Bills in a 'Sunday Night Delight'. The Bills will enter M&T Bank Stadium undefeated led by their franchise Quarterback, Josh Allen, seeking to improve to 4-0. This may be short-lived if the Ravens can get their same second straight win of the season, and first at home. Ravens fell short in a close one in their 2024 home opener against the Raiders in dramatic fashion. So, we all know they will be looking for retribution this time around.
Lamar holds a 2-1 record over Josh Allen all time in their 3 meetings (excluding the playoffs). The last meeting between the Ravens and the Bills was at M&T Bank Stadium in 2023, and the Ravens would lose a close one 23-20. That was not a good game for Lamar and the Ravens, as he threw 2 interceptions, and the Ravens were held scoreless in the second half.
In tonight's match-up the Bills still appear to hold the upper hand, however will they be able to be an offensive juggernaut missing their two biggest threats: Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis? Will the Ravens offensive line continue their success despite the early struggle? Can the Bills stop the Ravens #2 ranked rush attack with King Henry in the backfield? The Ravens win in dominate fashion in Dallas, although it appeared they were mounting a comeback. The offensive line issues were put to the side, at least for this game. We'd have to see if this formula will continue as the Ravens will face two formidable opponents. With that being said, there was a lot of positive coming out of the first win for the 2024 campaign.
As in all things, there are still some areas of concern. One being, Justin Tucker possibly losing his "mojo" or could it all be a mental lapse. Second, penalties have not been in the favor of Baltimore this season. They have committed over 25 negating just under 300 yards to their opponents. What are the areas of concern? What or Who should be held responsible? I will discuss the key takeaways from this game.

Last week the Ravens would lead the Raiders 23-13 before surrendering and ultimately losing the game. It was all too familiar for Ravens fans to see yet another 4th quarter lead erased by the Ravens. Not only have this been an issue, but the offensive identity of this team have haunted them for the past several seasons.
Now they head down to the D-Town, home of the "America's Team" Dallas Cowboys, in hopes of digging out of a 0-2 deficit. Both teams will actually be looking to capitalize on the other since both suffered losses in Week 2. The Cowboys have given up 283 yards on the ground against their last two opponents. This should be advantage Ravens, especially since they lead the league in allowing just 99 yards rushing to their opponents. Most of the biggest question will be how the Ravens offensive line will hold up against the likes of: Micah Parsons and Damarcus Lawrence.

In today's episode of the Purple Pride Power Hour podcast, I will give my perspective on the state of the Ravens, as they start their 2024 campaign with an overall record of 0-2. They would lose a close one against Gardner Minshew and the Las Vegas Raiders at home! This would not only our second consecutive loss this season, but the second time they would lose to Gardner Minshew. Last time, it was in overtime last year when he was the quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts.
There are several takeaways from this game that will be discussed: offensive line issues, pass defense, penalties, and the foolish challenges made by Head Coach John Harbaugh. Should Harbaugh be on the hot seat? Are the Ravens Superbowl window closing? All this and more will be discussed.

The Ravens took a tough loss against the defending back-to-back Superbowl Champs, the Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead. It was a nail-biter down the end when Isaiah Likely appeared to have scored a game-tying touchdown, and appeared to have been going for the 2-point conversion for the win. However, they would come up short by the TOE of Likely's cleat.
This week the Ravens will host the Las Vegas Raiders for the 8th time in their history. Ravens hold a 9-4 all-time record against them, and have dominated them at home holding a 6-1 record. Their last loss came in Vegas back in 2021 when they lost a close one in overtime.
This is a game the Ravens should win and dominate. However, there are several questions that need to be answered concerning their offensive line, secondary, and even how Derrick Henry will be used. All this and more will be answered in another exciting episode of the Purple Pride Power Hour Podcast

What a thrilling season opener, the Baltimore Ravens fell just short against the Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead, with the game ultimately decided by the narrowest of margins. Both quarterbacks, Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes, showcased their elite skills, delivering impressive performances that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Rookie Xavier Worthy scored twice (one on the ground, one in the air), and King Henry got his first touchdown as a Raven. Mahomes, however, emerged victorious in this nail-biter that was tightly contested throughout. The decisive moment came down to the toe-drag catch by Isiah Likely in the end zone, which ultimately sealed the game for Kansas City.
