It is the actual audio recording of the "Laughs" TV Show which aired in 1987 on ABC, and stars Tony Edwards, Terry Dadd, and a good Friend of mine...Bruce "Babyman" Baum. Here is some standup comedy recorded during a live show from 1984 starring Comic/Magician Mark Kornhauser, also sharing some comedy, John Carfi and Perry Kurtz. I am sharing small parts of each comics act to let you hear how the standup material and audience participation made it a fun night for the Thursday audience.
Mark was Nationally known and was touring with the band "Sha Na Na", John was a writer for Joan Rivers, and Perry Kurtz was the Annual Host for San Francisco's "Exotic Erotic Ball" held every New Years.
Perry Kurtz, John Carfi, and Mark Kornhauser are recognized figures in the comedy scene, each with their unique style and approach to comedy and magic. Perry Kurtz’s playful, interactive style sets him apart, as he notably incorporates audience suggestions into his performances, showcasing his ability to spontaneously engage and entertain audiences. I found some very old recordings on cassette tape I wanted to share with my audience...
On this Bonus Show you will here a rare recording of Dana Carvey (doing a little Ross Perot impressions) from the 1992 Republican Convention. What makes this special is he mentions my name a couple times...very funny! Also, I am sharing an old radio promo for a Bobcat Goldthait club visit, and then a short set recorded live of Bobcat!

Bobcat Goldthwait, famous for his direct and loud comedic approach, gained recognition in the mid-eighties comedy circuit, particularly at Laughs Unlimited in Citrus Heights, performing alongside fellow comedian Dana Carvey. Threading a line of self-deprecating and sarcastic humor, Goldthwait was unafraid to tackle controversial topics such as politics, but always with a comedic twist, making his performances unique and memorable. Similarly, Carvey polished his skills at the same comedy club before his iconic stint on Saturday Night Live, with his talent for impersonations shining through, evident from his representation of a local talk show at the 1992 Republican Convention. On this Bonus Show I am sharing some old audio that means a lot to me and is entertaining. For you comedy enthusiast, a short set by Jerry Seinfeld recorded back in the 80's that I know you will enjoy. But around he comedy set are a couple commercials and a "Salute to the Big Galute" by the famous radio team of "Charlie & Harrigan" out of Texas. I also shared and old radio commercial for a Jay Leno concert I produced, and a badly pronounced radio promo for a Bob Saget & Dave Coulier special show...so lot's of Mixed Media...Enjoy!

Another solid interview; but this time on the fringe of Comedy as I interview Musician/Producer/Author Dick Bright. From his stories about music of Ella Fitzgerald, BB King, Joel Grey, & Huey Lewis to his comedy connection with Jack Gallagher, Bruce Baum, and Robin Williams; Dick has worked with the best! He also started the "Bammies" in the Bay Area, and acted in the movie "Mrs Doubtfire". His new Book "Work'n For A Livin" is out and a solid guide for musicians of all ages.
Dick Bright, a world-class violinist and music producer, has a music career deeply entrenched in his family background, as he learned his craft from his father, a music teacher. Dick's perception of his career in music is one filled with enjoyment, meaningful relationships, and life-changing experiences such as introducing Huey Lewis to Ella Fitzgerald. He maintains that working in the music industry should be not just profitable but also pleasurable and fulfilling. His background and experiences, including co-leading a rock band and co-creating a music award show, have led him to value the importance of a supportive and positive environment in the music industry. Through his book, "Working for a Living: How to Make It in the Music Business," he passes on these beliefs to aspiring musicians, emphasizing the significance of fun and decent earnings in pursuing a music career.

This is a fun filled podcast show featuring many of the standup comedy acts that performed for my 1985 Fox TV Special :"Live at Laughs Unlimited". It was hosted by the world famous ventriloquist Willie Tyler & Lester, and includes comedy from Dave Coulier (Full House/Fuller House), the comedy team of O'Brian & Valdez (Valdez being only blind comic working Nationally at the time), Bob Worley (from Ice House Comedy Club in South Pasadena), and from the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour...Comic Pat Paulsen (who had run for President of the US a couple times!)...all together for a fun 32 mins of standup comedy...Please Enjoy, Rate, & Share!

This was a fun interview with a young comic from North Carolina who has also out together is own Black Power Rangers Comedy Tour. Wills Maxwell Jr. is a talented comic and aspiring Producer, and his story is both fresh and inspiring. His comedy set is a statement about growing up in the South...Interesting!
