    How has your organization adapted to the evolving landscape of leadership development? What we know about effective learning for leaders has evolved over the last decade, and even since before the pandemic. In today’s episode, my guest and I explore what has changed.

    My guest is Larry Baider. Larry has served in several executive HR leadership positions in large organizations and is currently the Vice President of Talent Management, Leadership & Learning at AmeriHealth Caritas.

    He is enthusiastic about helping individuals and organizations optimize their potential and their capacity to lead. Some of the most impactful contributions his teams have made include award-winning development programming and sustainable talent management and leadership practices.

    Larry has graduate education in Strategic Communication & Leadership, Applied Positive Psychology, Industrial-Organizational Psychology and is also a graduate of CoachU’s coach training program. He is now on his PhD journey in Performance Psychology.

    Larry is a regular speaker on leadership, organizational psychology, and peak performance. He authored his first book, Leadership to the Fifth Power in 2007 and is currently co-host of the Lean In Leaders Podcast.

    My guest is Nabeel Ahmed. Nabeel Ahmed is SVP & Chief Human Resources Officer at Enlink Midstream, a role to which he has served since 2023. Previously, he served as Head of Human Resources, Operations and Talent Acquisition for U.S. Steel Corporation. Before joining U.S. Steel, he spent nearly a decade with Halliburton Company, most recently serving as Director of Global Compensation. Earlier in his career, he worked in HR roles at Baker Hughes and Weatherford International.

    Ahmed specializes and continues to consult and coach both individuals and organizations in developing and executing people strategy to drive competitive advantage, transforming Human Resources into a strategic quantifiable value-generating function and building compensation strategy with practices to instigate a culture of superior performance and accountability.

    Ahmed earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Information Systems and a Master's degree Management from Mississippi State University. Furthermore, he has completed Executive Leadership programs in the areas of Strategic Talent Development, Finance & Sustainability Leadership from Harvard Business School, Texas A&M’s Mays Business School and University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.

As Head of HR, she leads the people strategy with a focus on optimizing employee engagement through effective talent management and organizational performance systems. With over 20 years of progressive experience, Tanya has previously held senior HR roles with Mouser Electronics and The Neiman Marcus Group. She is committed to shaping the future of wireless connectivity while fostering a positive, creative, and collaborative work environment for all Boingo employees, affectionately known as “Boingoites”.

    In addition to her work at Boingo, Tanya has also served on the Board for HAKing Innovation, an organization focused on creating confidence and competence in our youth through STEAM programming. Tanya received her BA from San Jose State University, and her MBA from the University of Dallas. She also holds a certificate of Employment Law from Cornell University.

In today’s episode, my guest explains how she and her team are leveraging many different development vehicles and sources to create an environment where people don’t need to be pushed to learn but instead ask for investment in their learning.

    My guest is Aman Malhi. Aman represents the People and Culture team at the executive level at Refrigerative Supply Limited. She also owns Business Strategy for Refrigerative Supply. Under her leadership, the People and Culture team has grown from 1.5 individuals to seven experienced professionals who support the business in all human resources functions.

    Aman is a seasoned business leader with industry experience in manufacturing, production, pharmaceuticals, restaurant and hospitality, retail and wholesale, financial services, telecommunications, mergers and acquisitions, insurance, distribution, and not-for-profit industries. Her organizational experience includes startup, high-growth, mature brands, franchisee, publicly traded, unionized, centralized, decentralized, private equity, family-owned, North American and global firms.

    Aman has an MBA specializing in International Business and Innovation and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a major in Human Resources. She is a current Chartered Professional in Human Resources BC & Yukon member and a past member of the MacKay CEO Forum and TEC Canada. Additionally, Aman is a Program Advisory Committee member at Acsenda School of Management in Vancouver, and an HR committee member for PHS Community Services Society. She previously led the marketing team for Lean In Vancouver and was a Professional Mentoring Program Committee lead with the Human Resources Management Association.

    How well does your people strategy align with the overall business strategy for your organization? Are you part of the process up front, or catching up in reaction mode after the business strategy is locked down? In today’s episode, my guest makes the case for why the PEOPLE strategy must be a critical component of an organization’s overall goals and strategy.

    My guest is Cindy Thomas. Cindy is an Executive HR professional, business leader, coach, facilitator, and speaker. Her work draws on 20 years of organizational leadership experience, Business transformation and Executive Coaching in multiple global locations.

    She started her career in the financial services industry in 2004 at PwC. Before joining KONE Canada as the Director of People & Communications in 2023 she was the Head of People & Performance (CANAC & R&D) at Kraft Heinz, and prior to that the VP of People & Culture at Quark Expeditions (a Global Polar Expeditions company part of the Travelopia (KKR) group) in hospitality, travel, and tourism industry.

    She has worked in several executive management positions with PwC, Nokia, Hilton Worldwide, and Pizza Hut International (Yum! Brands) on four continents, namely: Africa, Asia, North & South America.

    Based in Canada, in her current position, Cindy Thomas leads the People & Communications (HR) for KONE, Canada.

    Cindy Thomas is a graduate of the University of Stellenbosch, Cape Town, with specialization in Business: Industrial Psychology and Logistics Management with a further specialization in Labor Relations & Organizational Development. She is married and is a mother to a daughter. As an avid traveler and eternal explorer, Cindy speaks English and Afrikaans fluently and has learned German, French and Spanish as part of her many travels and work experiences. The only continent she has yet to land on is Australia.
