Many African countries, Kenya included are heavily indebted at the moment. Kenya owes about 14 trillion shillings, which is about 72% of our GDP. Half of this tax is domestic debt (denominated in Kenya Shillings), and the other half is foreign currency denominated (USD). What are our options, seeing as it seems we have hit the ceiling insofar as how much we can raise from taxes.
Kwame talks to us about the nature of our debt currently, and our options (if any) moving forward. ------------------------------------------------------------------------

We look at the design flaws, the lack of flexibility, and the lack of understanding of our social and economic context that culminated in the #FinanceBill2024 protests.
