Kelly is prepping for back to school this week while Lizz just celebrated her two year anniversary with Mattie. In driveways dumps they lay out their dream shopping center: Target (of course), Home Goods, Trader Joe's, a local coffee shop, Athleta or Lululemon, and a sushi restaurant. Kelly warns the Carpool crew that Netflix rom coms suck, so take a leap back into the 1990s and rent The Bodyguard. Next on her list is Rumor Has It and Lizz adds It Ends With Us might be worth the watch, too.

In industry news Kristy Rasback spills all the hot tea going on in the GM world. Kristy says she loves her supercruise and agrees that the intuitive setup with physical buttons is an advantage across the Chevrolet line. Kristy talks semi-autonomous driving advantages with the gals and how the more you use it, the more you can trust it. Kelly says this feature boosts both fun and safety for drivers. Kristy's #1 must-have safety feature surprises Kelly.

  • Efficiency is an art, so host Thawgust with your bestie! On this jam-packed episode Kelly is leaving the baby-having stage, entering her birthday week, and discovering she's absolutely not about the recipe influencer life. To top it all off, Tyler has started the shiplap process and Kelly and Lizz are stunned, to say the least.

On driveway dumps, Lizz needs to know—how many snacks in a day is too many snacks? Kelly says, if you have to ask, it's too many. Taking a note from Chris' book, tell your kiddos the kitchen's closed, but the fruit bowl is always open. And if you're looking for a meal-planning hack, turn to Chat GPT to make you a menu for the week.

    Last three transactions
Lizz picked up toilet locks, disposable gloves and drywall anchors and Kelly rounds out her last three transactions with glitter hair gel to up Hattie's hair game, aesthetically pleasing blocks for the living room, and Jack-o-lantern shirts for the kids.

A couple who plans to keep their vehicles for 10 years is looking forward to growing their family, they write in to ask if they should buy a truck or SUV as their second car. Another listener wonders if paying in cash gives you better buying power? Surprisingly, Kelly says no, it won't and shares her juicy advice on negotiating a price at the dealership.

Industry news is just grasping at straws. Mary Rice is shaking in her boots about the Grand Highlander Lexus TX recall—if you're looking for one, look used! And Tellurides have actually burst into flames in the driveway, so Kelly's adding them to the list of brands who could use better quality control.

You're trying so hard to feed your family healthy, so why let your cookware leach yucky chemicals into your food? With Caraway cookware you can rest assured that you're cooking with non-toxic pots and pans that also look gorgeous with any design aesthetic. • The bumps are free, everyone's talking about cucumbers, and Kelly and Lizz are showing up in defense of car content filming. In millennial news, Kelly's got clarity on brat summer and is ready for next year to be Polly Pocket summer.

@Logansfewd is going viral for eating an entire cucumber a day and Kelly and Lizz are loving his recipes. Hard boiled eggs are coming in strong this summer, too with a stellar flight from @smaller_sam.pcos.

Kelly is thrilled with her experience with Vonder Car Wash and Detailing and Lizz is in her hire-it-out era. August 16th is Kelly's birthday and she'll be getting nestie with a bestie before baby arrives.

The gals were shook recently at a playdate when the green banana debate made its debut. How are these better than yellow bananas? They can offer healthy starches and a lower sugar count than ripe bananas.

Canadian Carpoolers made the 11 hour trek to the Auto Show and brought a bag of Canadian snacks that Kelly and Lizz are trying today on the taste drive. While the ketchup Lays might make Kelly toss her chips, the all-dressed are something Canada can be proud of.

Kelly and Lizz are making their post-partum show and movie list. They've got their eye on the Sex and the City reboot and the Real Housewives of New Jersey.

In industry news, Stellantis is super struggling right now. Kelly's prediction is that the reliability scores are hurting sales and thinks the Pacifica needs to be moved to Jeep or another brand. Their CEO is ready to cut brands that are underselling and speculations wonder what might happen to Maserati, which lost $89 million in the first six months of the year.

  • It's baby watch month! It might be time to wash clothes and get baby's things together…but you won't catch Kelly packing her hospital bag until the day she needs to pack it. Lizz will be a little more prepared with Athleta jumpers in tow while Kelly will likely stick to her Lulu Align leggings.

In the great eight of salads, Kelly and Lizz's favorites go for gold. Who will bring the medal home? Caesar, Greek, Cobb, Wedge, Caprice, Taco, Italian, or Goat cheese?

Kelly was deterred from a shower cap too soon. She's sure it's going to be life changing and Lizz doubts she'll use it. Stay tuned for the 30-day report. Also in driveway dumps, Kelly has one more thing to say about Ballerina Farms—200 years ago, we all would have been trad wives and would have figured it out.

Got pregnancy brain? A crazy summer mom schedule? No worries, Rocket Money has got your back. Over 74% of people have subscriptions they've forgotten about. A mom of one writes in to ask the gals if she should get rid of her Telluride for a car with more miles that would save her on monthly payments. Kelly isn't sure it's as good of a deal as it sounds. Her number one car shopping tip—even more than choosing your salesperson—is you have to understand what the monthly payment is going to be before you go to the dealership. Use the Car Mom car payment estimator to find your numbers before you shop!

Another listener wonders what should be put in her hospital bag and when should the carseat be installed in the car? Kelly and Lizz say be sure to pack your own towels, a heating pad, a cute robe, and toiletries. Oh and don't forget those life-savers to keep you going during an epidural!

In a short and sweet industry news, Kelly reveals how she's feeling about the Traverse—it's lacking power, and that's saying something for her.

Throw your next girl dinner in a bowl to ditch the drive-through. All you need is a package of Thai chili tuna, rice, avocado, cucumber, soy sauce, seaweed crisps, and your favorite toppings. Mix it up and enjoy!

  • Kelly's no Macy Blackwell, but she is conquering laundry for a family of five—a super mom feat. Also while pregnant, she's wearing her seatbelt safely and on a mission to save the internet from dangerous contraptions promoted by influencers who don't know the risks they're taking.

To tip or not to tip at coffee shops—this question is at the top of Kelly's driveway dumps today. Lizz worries she'll get a bad coffee if she doesn't tip online and Kelly's going to start using a two-month tipping hack. George and Hattie are taking on more chores around the house and Lizz suggests making floor cleaning a game of who can bring mom the dirtiest rag. A complete transformation via freshly painted trim is underway at Lizz's new house while Kelly is still waiting for her shiplap saga to end.

Who would Kelly and Lizz date, marry, and divorce in popular car brand lineups? Kelly shares her BMW picks—date the M4 convertible, marry the X3, divorce the X7—considers the Telluride vs the Carnival from Kia, reveals what she hates more than the Jeep Gladiator, and Lizz wraps up the game with Ford. That Bronco might buy her a drink, but who's she going to date? Kelly also names the cars she'd put in her dream five-car garage.

In industry news Rivian is doing what no one is asking for and removing the key fobs from their vehicles completely. Lizz wonders what happens if tech is down. She's not a fan and wonders when a conspiracy theory is just a good what-if question. EVs trickle into Toyota's lineup as the Highlander evolves into one. Unfortunately, Kelly and Lizz both recognized that the disappointment of the ball at the Car Mom Auto Show was the Grand Highlander. Kelly is done with GM not putting lower anchors in their third rows as George is outgrowing the harnesses in his front-facing seats.

  • Absence makes the driveway dump list longer, so Kelly is ready for the Carpool today. She kicks off the episode with another reminder to utilize your iPhone features and wraps with a baby name clue—hint, she won't be taking the Harry Potter theme route.

Today's millennial word of the day is 'it was a movie' meaning it was so good it could have hit the big screen. Kelly and Lizz try to break down a 'brat girl summer' again and Lizz has taken her stance—if the explanation is 'the essence' she's out.

In driveway dumps Kelly wonders if she needs a shower cap, is plotting a 'try not to waddle' pregnancy challenge, and has a hot take on Ballerina Farms and the life cycle of an influencer. In short, you can get an angle out of anybody. Both gals are loving the Olympics and following Ilona, a female rugby player who's giving the best behind the scenes peeks on social media. Lizz is watching men's rugby and Kelly is loving gymnastics and swimming. Both agree—water polo is some kind of superhuman feat.

On last three transactions, Lizz has a Frame TV update and made a big Little Sleepies order as well as an order for an electric fence. Kelly is nesting. She ordered Silverettes for breastfeeding relief, 200 pre-cut parchment paper (thanks Naptime Kitchen for the hack!) and snagged a couple of quality Beckham Hotel Collection Pillows for her master bedroom.

In industry news, Deadpool features Honda Odyssey and the Kia Carnival while Toyota is replacing every single engine in a hundred thousand Tundra pickups and Lexus LXs—yikes.

Barbeque glazed sausage is hitting the dinner table in five minutes flat thanks to Lizz's pin-spiration. Ditch the drive-through with your favorite links and a little dash of BBQ.

  • Being a mom is a kick you while you're down kind of industry and if it throws you into your ugly era, getting out just isn't free. On this episode of the Carpool podcast Kelly and Lizz share their recent relatable mom experiences and a review of the third annual Car Mom Auto Show.

The gals extend a huge thank you to everyone who made the drive and flew during the Microsoft outages. The third Auto Show was truly the best and Kelly and Lizz loved meeting their fans—from moms to young listeners. The VIP night vibes were on point, the extended hours were awesome, and Capital One's giant car seat was a hit.

Kelly deems the Belle of the Ball and most talked about car the BMW X7 or Kia Carnival. For the next show, Kelly will be hiring staff — a need she underestimated this time— and more carefully curating the kid's movie characters that attend.

Kelly escaped her ugly era with a new lipstick duo from Ulta while Lizz feels like she needed a full montage movie makeover to get out of her funk for a few days.

A Mom of one driving a (paid for) 2018 Toyota Four Runner is feeling the pressure to drive a bigger car when her second kiddo arrives. Kelly re-shares her Mom-Car hot take: the car you have is the best mom car when you're just starting a family. Any car fits two kids and unless you have other unique needs you probably don't need to go car shopping yet.

In industry news, the new Honda Odyssey is incredibly underwhelming and Kelly is ready to see a hybrid option. Both gals are on the edge of their seats for the '25 Expedition.

Kelly's sassy pasta is today's ditch the drive-through. Grab a little olive oil, Boursin cheese, and cream if you have it and treat the cheese like the 'butter' on your noodles. Kelly added sweet potatoes, peas, and rotisseries chicken to her dish and served plain (actually) buttered noodles with peas and meatballs on the side to her kiddos.

  • Kelly is spilling the story of going from mommy blogger to mature brand that stands up next to brands like Car and Driver with the new The Car Mom Logo (that made her cry). The moral of the story—if you don't want anyone's feedback, don't put it out there until it's official.

Kelly can't spell her baby name yet, but she's loving the nickname that starts with a different letter than the name itself. And this isn't the first time she's played the naming game, she also helped Lizz get her edge with a little spelling tweak.

Today's driveway dumps are full to the brim with parenting perspectives and married date night hacks. Kelly learned the hard way this weekend to set low expectations when you're planning something fun for one of your kids. Drop the news close to the event, undersell the event, and pack a diaper bag. The reality of being a mom of two is setting in for Lizz. Kelly's best advice? Get on your snack game. And the gals agree—parenting personalities aren't right or wrong, parenting 'experts' should have some real experience under their belt, and everyone should be more aware of who they're taking recommendations from online.

There's nothing that will come between you and your husband like a week with your kids or a crazy busy schedule—like this week getting ready for The Car Mom Auto Show. Kelly shares the progressive date night she planned for the week after as well as a listener-submitted hack for when you have an event to attend with your spouse. No matter where or when you're connecting, remember to focus on the needle movers when you know you're going into a hard season.

  • Even though she didn't have a single drink all weekend, Kelly is still recovering from an absolute bender at the lake. Lizz is residing in her new home, but not exactly moved in. And both gals agree tablescapes and formal place settings for 16 people are a thing of the past.

→ Kelly and Lizz can't wait to see you at The Car Mom Auto Show next week! Grab your tickets and hit the road to see the best family rides all in one place. And snag a peek at the $950 Baby Ark car seat while you're there!

Today's millennial word is 'brat girl summer' inspired by Charlie XCX's new album. Kelly and Lizz discuss how there are four type of girls: Barbies, Bratz, Polly Pockets, and American Girls. And George is winning money, shopping, and finding 'sick' buys on Amazon.

Sometimes motherhood is just hard—Lizz had to go daycare shopping and she's been in tears since. The encouragement and comments from The Car Mom Crew Facebook Group were just the balm her mom's heart needed.

Lizz kicks off last three transactions with a Fourth of July sale on Ruggable—she's becoming an absolute stan. Tyler will be helping her hang a frame TV over her fireplace and her Pink Blush Maternity haul will be helping her get ready for the Auto Show. Kelly scored her maternity haul at H&M, ordered a bearded dragon leash with George, and she couldn't help but order just one more budget carseat for the Auto Show.

Jen is trying for her first baby and hauls around several teenagers with sports gear. What kind of car can she get to accommodate her busy family that will keep her under a $400-500 monthly payment? Kelly says the Honda Pilot might have just the versatility she needs.

In industry news the 2025 Kia Soul has been released and offers a Soulmate Special Edition. Leasing now makes up over 35% of EV transactions compared to 24% of transactions for all vehicles.

Crack chicken sandwiches are today's ditch the drive-through meal. All you need to get started is three chicken breasts, a block of cream cheese, pack of ranch dressing, and half a cup of water or chicken broth. Cook on low for eight hours then shred the chicken. To finish off the sandwich filling, add in eight ounces of shredded cheese, chopped cooked bacon, and chopped green onion. Serve on toasted brioche buns.

  • Lizz future career in impressions may be uncertain, but her baby on the way and new house are both sure things. Kelly is getting her first peak at the place soon and planning her future Trader Joe's, Target, and Lizz runs.

Today's millennial word of the day is 'raw dogging a flight.' That's when you take no music, no literature, and no devices — it's just you, your thoughts, and the flight tracker map.

Kelly recently discovered the late fee notification feature on Rocket Money, where she's already saving money every month canceling her unwanted subscriptions.

Jennifer Stockburger from Consumer Reports joins Kelly and Lizz to talk about how they test, what they test for, and even what their recommendations are for young drivers.

Jennifer shares how Consumer Reports didn't start out with an auto-focus and when they made the move to expand, their reviewers were borrowing friends' cars to report on. Today, Consumer Reports has an auto division that is entirely funded by Consumer Reports subscriptions ensuring their reviews are as impartial as possible.

Every car goes through a break-in process to receive its road test score. By the end of 6 to 12 months the car has accumulated 10,000-20,000 miles including everyday driving tests. They then receive reliability and owner satisfaction ratings. In 2023 Consumer Reports had also collected over 330,000 responses on individual cars adding to their robust consumer data.

  • Fresh squeezed lemonade is changing Lizz's summer sipping game and beating out every cocktail, even margaritas. Fourth of July never flops and the gals are ready to celebrate freedom and enjoy the sun. And if you haven't gotten your tickets yet, run don't walk—The Car Mom Auto Show VIP is giving date night. Ditch the drive-through features a staple from Kelly's half a hog, the always beloved bacon. When you're in a pinch for dinner, whip up some bacon and serve up BLTs for dinner. You can do the most with avocado, cracked pepper, and sprouts or do the least with a loaf of Sara Lee's honey wheat and aioli—aka mayonnaise with a glow up.

In driveway dumps, Lizz learned that tight hugs calming your nervous system down and now James is sleeping through the night thanks to wrestling before bed. Kelly started the Celine Dion documentary. And both gals are aghast at how 1.4 billion is probably not the big bucks Bluey truly deserved.

Another $1 billion infusion from Volkswagen is on its way to Rivian as the EV maker develops new models. Jeep Wrangler doesn't perform well on a road test, doesn't have good reliability, and doesn't have much to talk about—yet owner satisfaction is so high. Kelly and Lizz don't quite get it, but they can get on board with the cute duck duck jeep trend whose founder recently passed away. Lizz says, "Keep on Jeep'n!"

A listener's brother has a bad rap with girlfriends and is having a baby with a girl he's been with for four months. Should she feel jealous because this is the first grand baby in the family when she was waiting for mom to retire? Kelly and Lizz say let the cousin work out the kinks out of the family and have kids when the time is really right for you. Another listener wants advice on key FOB security. Can you get car information from a key FOB that is laying out on a counter? Shockingly, yes.

  • Lizz is feeling lighter, Kelly is on a bearded dragon journey, and this episode of the Carpool Podcast is absolutely jam packed.

Making headlines everywhere, major cyber attacks have infiltrated the auto industry. As Kelly puts it, this is spook city whether your dealership uses CDK tech or not. 50% of dealerships in the company have been affected by these attacks and hackers are holding the software ransom and asking for millions of dollars to return it. Lexus and Toyota also have a major recall out on the TX and Grand Highlander for side airbags not deploying. While it's a voluntary recall, the gals still hate to see it.

→ Are you coming to the Car Mom Auto Show? Mark your calendar and get ready for a road trip full of family festivities with Kelly and Lizz.

Yes, there are car washes in Dallas. No, there isn't any technical merit to Kelly's claim that clean cars drive better. In today's driveway dumps the gals officially share their clean car disclaimer and reminisce about their favorite carpool trivia battle, the SUV challenge. Did you listen to it, too? Or have a similar must-listen in your family when you were driving to school in the morning? MBA grads are shifting away from startups and are looking to acquire businesses from the retiring boomers. Kelly wonders if colleges in their flop era— becoming less relevant while trade schools become more valuable again. Lizz wouldn't be mad if her kids didn't go the college route.

  • It's a new week, and Kelly and Lizz are just a couple of menty b's away from the Car Mom Auto Show. Mark your calendars, and make the drive to enjoy a ton of family festivities with Kelly and Lizz.

Today's millennial word of the day is Chipotle boys. These are young men who are at Chipotle five days a week. Mostly finance bros, gym bros, and former frat boys—aka the modern day basic girls.

In driveway dumps, Kelly is on a hunt—at Gap—to create the perfect casual family photo vibes for when the kids meet their new sibling for the first time at the hospital. She'll also be picking up matching PJs for their first night at home.

Kelly is back on her kids antique Tupperware sippy cups game, trying out a new indoor plug in fly trap, and is loving the cordless rechargeable lamps her mom got for her bookshelf. Also in last three transactions, Lizz bought a maternity swimsuit, a camera monitor with no bluetooth, and…a HUGE surprise you'll have to tune into to believe.

No one's doing anything in industry news, Kelly is just waiting for the you-know-what to drop. Lizz is debating whether she wants to drive an Atlas or a Pathfinder for her next car. And Kelly is getting ready to spend a month in the Chevy Traverse.

Lizz is bringing a throwback baby name clue today. This name has grown in popularity over the last several years, and she thinks it could be because the name is from two shows from her young adult/teen years.

Meal salads are today's ditch the drive-through. Get to chopping and serve up a gorgeous salad, heavy on the protein at your next get together.

  • Moms are baddies who cannot be touched—and Kelly is ready to share her contagious confidence, Lizz officially feels like her sweet trio is a family, and both gals need to know "What is a write off anyway?"

Kelly is getting into her hostess era in her hostie-home and it's warming her heart. Lizz is staying on her freezer game with a homemade meatball stash. Both gals are outraged about the Red 40 and Yellow 5 in the glucose test drink. Simply put—why? If you need some kid-snack inspiration for the summer, head over to The Lazy Genius Podcast's snack episode—Kelly's latest audio obsession. This show will help you learn how to decide once, simplify snack time, and give your kids more choice while you're still in control of their limits.

Straight from the childhood files, Kelly and Lizz reminisce about the effectiveness of their mom's kid of the day hack and assigned seats so you never have to listen to another fight about where your kids are sitting again. Kelly is curating her wish list in the notes app so she can move into her investing era and out of her consumerism era. She's currently eyeing a Frank & Eileen dress, Mejuri jewelry, and a nice fruit bowl.

Chemicals are everywhere, so thank goodness it's Caraway June! Check out their limited time offers every Monday this month to eliminate toxic materials from your kitchen. Yes, Their pots and pans are made without any PFAS, PTFEs, POH, or other hard to pronounce chemicals. Over 65,000 people have given Caraway kitchenware five stars. A mom of four writes in to find out what Kelly's take is on the size of a Traverse vs. an Expedition. Kelly shares that the Expedition interior feels significantly bigger than the Traverse, but the trunk space is essentially the same while the Max drives like a bus, but does give you more space to haul your family's stuff.

In industry news, Stellantis has issued 30 recalls in the US so far because of a backup camera issue, according to NHTSA data. Ford ends their controversial EV certification program and reopens EV sales to all dealers. And roughly a third of car buyers say the absence of Apple CarPlay or Android Auto would be a deal breaker. Kelly is ready for manufacturers to listen to the consumers and stop looking to Tesla's cult following as an example of what buyers want.

Erica shares her breakfast burritos for today's ditch the drive-through. Just cook some sausage, Trader Joe's hash browns, scrambled eggs, and assemble your ingredients in a flour tortilla with salsa, cheese, peppers and onions. Pop them in the air fryer for about five minutes to really crisp them up.

Kelly is beating the heat with a summer base model luxury that you won't want to miss. She mixes up a whole pitcher of lemonade with Ultima electrolytes for the family and keeps it cool in the fridge. Her new motto? If you mix it they will drink it!

In driveway dumps, Craig is keeping Lizz safe after catching a tire tear on her car. Lizz is enjoying Perfect Match—another trash dating show on Netflix. Kelly's bedroom furniture is on order and she's looking forward to Bridgerton drama on a bigger screen. Lizz is listening to the Girls With Bright Futures audiobook. Lizz is crushing the Amazon maternity top game and she's stocking up on a blouse tank top with a bow in the back so she can feel cute all summer long. Kelly is excited about the new water table she got for her kids after the last one was trashed in the move.

A listener writes in to ask for advice on a Doona seat and stroller. Kelly and Lizz agree, they're clunky, expensive, heavy, and too low to the ground. They're going to stick with their Mockingbird/Clek combos. Another listener has a 2018 Kia Sorento that is burning oil and wonders if she needs to disclose the issue at trade in? The gals say anything you say can and will be used against you. Don't lie, but don't word vomit your car's history and drag the value of your trade in down.

In industry news, more than 40% of EV buyers want to go back to a combustion engine. The Car Mom Auto Show is just around the corner and has verbally confirmed a Traverse, Telluride, Palisade, Atlas, and Santa Fe.
