  • In this week's episode, I'm going be talking about embracing change and getting inspiration from nature. All of us face change at some time in our lives, it can be a difficult experience for many people. We are creatures of habit and tend to resist anything that disrupts our routine. However, change is absolutely necessary for growth and development. Without change, we would remain stagnant and unable to move on or progress.

Change can take many forms, a major life event like job loss, breakup, divorce, or simply something like a change in routine. And many of us find it hard to cope and it can have a massive, profound effect on our lives. I believe getting inspiration from nature can really lessen its impact. As we understand that we move in cycles, as the seasons do, we also change and evolve.

    Here are the highlights:

(02:13) The more we get in tune with nature's cycles, the more we become in tune with the divine flow of life.

(02:36) We can learn from the wisdom of nature.

(04:05) We can learn from the resilience of trees.

(04:50) We connect with each element in the Awaken the Creatrix course.

    (04:59) Earth

    (05:11) Water

    (06:21) Fire

    (07:13) Wind

(08:36) The changing of the seasons is a beautiful reminder of the impermanence of life.

  • This week I'm going to be talking about the Spring Equinox. As a writer, I'm always on the lookout for inspiration and new ideas to fuel my creativity, and as I walked through the seasons and let them inspire my creativity, it has given me such a powerful connection to nature and its cycles on top of also doing moon journaling when it's New Moon and Full Moon.

I've also got in touch with my own cycles of creativity and when I have high energy and low energy, which has really helped the creative process as well.

So what better time to harness the power of the universe than during the Spring Equinox?

In this episode, I will be exploring the symbolism of the spring Equinox and its connection to creativity, as well as giving some journaling prompts and creative writing exercises that can help you incorporate Spring Equinox themes into your writing.

    Here are the highlights:

(01:34) What is the Spring Equinox?

(02:44) The Spring Equinox is traditionally a time of rebirth, renewal, and growth

(04:22) The Spring Equinox can also serve as a powerful source of inspiration for your writing

(06:40) What things really ignite your creativity?

(07:36) Ideas to help with creative renewal

    (09:29) Book recommendations

  • Women and men have been circling and sitting in circles for thousands of years. Women in particular would come together during certain Luna and menstrual cycles throughout the month or for special events throughout the year.

Women's circles are a brilliant way to tap into the power of sisterhood and foster connection, and healing. And so this week I'm going to be talking about my own experience of creating circles.

    Here are the highlights:

(02:17) Whatever happens in the circle, stays in the circle

(03:48) It's been an honour and a gift to be able to host these spaces for people

(05:37) When we bring women together in a circle beautiful things happen

(10:56) It’s extremely important to bring back these traditions

(11:57) You are just simply heard and held in that space

(12:50) We are all goddesses, shining lights to each other, the world and ourselves

(14:27) I'm all about collaboration and connection

  • This week, I'm going to be talking about finding your writing voice. This is something that's deeply fascinated me as a professional writer for over 20 years, how does that voice change as we progress and grow as humans? Also, how the skills that we need and the way we need to express ourselves change as our own businesses or the work that we do changes too. That's certainly been the case for me.

So what is a writing voice? It's what keeps readers coming back. It's what makes you stand out from other writers, whether you are doing it for yourself or you are using it to share your words and wisdom with the world.

    Here are the highlights:

(01:29) Blogging is a brilliant way of getting your unique voice out in the world

(02:15) Your writing voice really is what connects you to readers

(03:46) How do you grab people's attention with your voice and what you are writing?

(06:24) Who are you writing for?

(07:35) I really love sharing my words

(09:31) What transformation do I want my readers to experience?

(10:13) Don't stay in your comfort zone

  • Today I'm going to be talking about the benefits of spending time in woodlands and forests. This could be called forest immersion, forest bathing or shinrin-yoku, which literally means forest bath. It was the Japanese who first coined this phrase in 1982, and it means bathing in the forest atmosphere or taking in the forest with all of your senses.

If you are interested in nature connection and spending time in nature, you may have noticed a massive increase in people offering this as a form of therapy, ecotherapy, or simply just to take stressed-out people into nature to make them feel better and really connect with nature and themselves. This is of course, what the Creatrix Journey is all about, spending time in nature and connecting with all of your senses to the elements and the nature around you and expressing it through creative writing.

So I'm obviously a massive fan.

    Here are the highlights:

(01:53) How forest bathing helped me

(04:57) Take your shoes off and connect to the ground

(05:27) Forest bathing can improve wellbeing in general

(07:58) Too much time online can contribute to health problems

    (09:32) The forest school movement

    (12:39) Nature prescription

  • I am a massive fan of journaling for a variety of reasons, it's really good for mental well-being, and it's a great writing practice to help improve your writing and also your general well-being and mood every day. Processing thoughts and feelings out of your head and onto paper can help you become more expressive in the way that you write.

Journal writing is a form of self-expression and self-reflection. It's a way to organise and document your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. It can be a really creative practice and a powerful tool for self-discovery. Many people use journal writing as a way to explore their emotions and gain more clarity in their lives. It can also help reduce stress, improve mental health, and unlock your creativity.

    So what's not to love?

    Here are the highlights:

(01:37) It can be traced back to ancient cultures

(02:51) Journaling helps you cultivate gratitude

(04:21) Writing down your plan for the next day can help you sleep better

(06:37) There are no rules for writing a journal

(06:45) Tips to help you get started

(10:37) You can do some self-exploration

  • This week, I'm talking about a topic that comes up a lot in conversations with my clients and on my social feeds. How do you become a better writer? A lot of people have a mental block around this and they'll say things like, “I'm not a great writer.” “I was rubbish at spelling and grammar at school.” There are lots of different reasons why they lack confidence in their writing ability. But it's my belief that we are all creatives, and whether you're a creator or a creatrix you can write, but it's something that you need to practice. It's like a muscle, the more you practice it, the better you get at it.

    Here are the highlights:

    (01:34) Practice your writing

(03:24) Find a space and time to journal and put it in your diary

    (03:47) Walking and writing

    (05:13) Accountability

(05:49) Focus - turn off all distractions

    (06:27) Make a daily commitment

(07:35) You need a fresh pair of eyes on your own work

(09:13) Are your headlines and sub-headlines attention grabbing?

  • Today, I'm going to be talking about nature connection. I believe very strongly that nature heals and spending time in nature inherently makes us feel better physically and mentally and spiritually. So in this episode, we're just going to do a deeper dive into why I think many of us know instinctively that nature is good for us.

    Here are the highlights:

    (02:04) Nature impacts our health

(03:59) Children who participated in activities outside had better vision than kids who spent more time indoors

(05:01) Nature improves your psychological well-being

(05:48) being outdoors reduces the stress hormone cortisol

(08:34) Here are some ways you can bring nature connection back into your life

  • This week, I'm going to be talking about being a content creatrix. For some time I struggled with how to merge Content Claire with Creatrix Claire and then I realised that she is one in the same thing and so are you. We are all innately born creators, creatives, creatrixes and it's in our lifeblood to want to share our creations with the world.

Now obviously in the content world, there are many, many types of content you can create and often people get blocked or overwhelmed or they hit a point of burnout where they are churning so much content out, they're not spending time on sales or growth of their business or strategy or other areas that they also need to be concentrating on.

So how do you tap into your magic, your source of creative power to make sure your content makes an impact?

    Here are the highlights:

    (01:38) Simplify it

(02:45) Sometimes we need to do something to switch our brain off

(04:02) Creating written content, visual content and audio content means you are hitting all of our audience’s needs

    (06:25) Create a content schedule

(08:08) What are the things that get on your nerves and what lights your fire?

(10:29) What content creation makes you happy?

  • In this week’s episode, I'm going to be talking about how creativity can spark your next big idea and why it's so important. There are lots of things that I believe creativity does well. Firstly, I believe it's what makes us feel fully alive. It's what we are put on this earth to do, to bring our unique magic and ideas and creativity. It doesn't always have to be through the work you do, you may not be an entrepreneur. You may love the work that you do, you may be creative in your work you may have a creative job, but you may also want to have other creative projects. You might want to do macramé, art, poetry, dancing, or singing. They don't necessarily have to be your job. I think being creative every day and every week makes such a difference to your mental well-being and how you show up in the world.

    Here are the highlights:

(02:18) My challenge for you today

(03:35) Connect back to that joy and happiness

    (04:09) Breathwork

(05:52) Get out in nature and walk or dance

    (06:30) Try the Pomodoro technique

(07:29) You have to be willing to share your art

  • This week, I'm going to be talking about how to find your inner storyteller. Anyone that's been listening to this podcast for a while knows that this is a topic I'm really passionate about. It’s the reason why I became a journalist in the first place. Being able to tell other people's stories has been really important to me and now it's really important to me that people find their own voice and share their powerful stories and words and wisdom with the world, which is what the Creatrix Journey is all about. One of the things we need to do as creatrixes is to step into our power by sharing powerful stories of transformation, and also the ups and downs of our lives. So that people get to understand the work that we do and why we are here, our mission at this time and how we can help other people.

    Here are the highlights:

(01:35) Sometimes people get stuck in fear and procrastination

(02:43) Why is sharing my story important?

(03:26) What actions would you like people to take after they’ve listened to your story?

(04:17) Everyone loves a great story

(05:10) Personal anecdotes can be really powerful

(05:46) Use language which your readers will understand

(06:58) Do not be afraid to share your story
