Then Hannah describes what happened at the SC GOP State Convention last Saturday. It was unproductive and chaotic but why should anyone from outside South Carolina care? Hannah uses this event to make an important point regarding a topic that is floated out every so often by many within the Republican Party.

Deviating from her normal content, Hannah reviews two books this week for today's podcast. First up is an autobiography by Sonora Carver-- A Girl and Five Brave Horses. This first book is the true story about horse diving in the United States. Wrapped up in the friendship between Wild Bill Hickok, Buffalo Bill, and Doc Carver, the origin of horse diving is fascinating and the full story is bound to intrigue any history lover, but especially horse enthusiasts. Hannah next reviews the book Mama Bear Apologetics by Hillary Morgan Ferrer et al. Written for moms but appropriate for both parents, this is a dive into the various ideologies our children face in the 21st century. Ferrer and her co-authors help parents recognize the various ideologies and then respond to them Biblically. Hannah recommends this book for any parent but ideally for small group settings.

Politicians in South Carolina once again fumbled the ball on taxes but thankfully, the Senate Medical Affairs Committee made the right decision regarding Ed Simmer. Today's podcast covers both stories. As for federal news, Donald Trump's administration has been deporting illegal aliens to El Salvador and has ended a program titled "CHNV Parole". How are they vetting the men they are sending to El Salvador? Additionally, what is the CHNV Parole program? How many immigrants came in through the program? Was it problematic? Is Trump right to deport everyone who entered the US through the program? Then in today's Homeschool Hints segment, Hannah is joined by her Mom, Carlotta Jackson, and they discuss the new-ish term "morning basket". What is it and how is it used in a homeschool?

The U.S. House passed a Continuing Resolution this week. In the aftermath, Thomas Massie and Donald Trump got into a dustup on X. In this week's Homeschool Hints segment, Hannah is once again joined by her Mom, Carlotta Jackson, to discuss what a homeschool day looked like in their home growing up. With nine children, two with special needs, and a myriad of extra curricular activities, what did the average day look like in the Jackson homeschool?

And what does "gender dysphoria" have to do with it? Today's podcast covers why this lawsuit is happening, what the goal is, and what the strategy is behind some of the language. Lastly, as promised, Hannah interviews her mom, Carlotta Jackson, on why, or how, some homeschool families fail at homeschooling. What does it mean to fail at homeschooling? Why is defunding USAID such a big deal? Why are people on both sides of the aisle raising such a fuss about it? The grant dollars are only a fraction of the federal budget, what's the big deal? Where does the money go and what does it do? Is USAID Constitutional? Is it Biblical? Also, Hannah addresses the argument many Christians made this week about a Christian's obligation to those across the globe vs their family. Do we have a higher obligation to the impoverished across the world than to our own families? Lastly, should I be upset that Donald Trump is threatening schools who promote DEI and the LGBTQ agenda?

Before launching into the funding freeze that didn't happen this week, Hannah shares from the counseling room. Who frequently suffers because of parents' poor life choices, whether it be because of infidelity, addiction, spending problems, etc? The children. Again and again, Hannah sees children suffering because of their parents' choices. It isn't fair, but it is reality and instead of excusing the parents' poor behavior, it should spur all of us towards righteousness. What about the funding freeze that was frozen? Hannah covers what happened, why it happened, and what should happen from here. Namely, was it Constitutional? Speaking of funds, let's talk about 14 ways Trump could get the ball rolling on spending cuts. Lastly, in her Homeschool Hints segment, Hannah covers the last approach to homeschooling. This approach is titled, "Packaged Programs" and may benefit parents who find themselves lacking confidence in their homeschool journey or maybe they just don't have the time and energy to give proper oversight. Hannah covers this approach and helps parents decide if this is a good homeschooling method for their family.

Argentina is beginning to see the fruit of President Milei's economic policies. After over a year of implementing his economic policies, Argentina's government agencies, workers, and spending have all been greatly reduced. Furthermore, inflation and federal regulations both have been drastically reduced. Are Milei's economic policies a roadmap for Trump? One of the Executive Orders Donald Trump signed in his first few days as President was an EO ending birthright citizenship. While it's been buried amongst a plethora or executive orders, Hannah believes this is an issue that will rise to the top once all the dust settles. In preparation for that, Hannah takes time to educate her listeners on the 14th Amendment, Supreme Court cases involving birthright citizenship, the historical context of the 14th Amendment, and the intent of the original framers. All of this information helps give listeners a better understanding of the illegality of birthright citizenship. In today's Homeschool Hints segment, Hannah covers the eclectic approach to homeschooling. Most homeschoolers eventually fall into this category even if they start out with a more traditional or singular approach.

This week's podcast addresses Peter Hegseth and his hearing to be confirmed. Hannah responds both politically and Biblically. Responding politically, she lays out his agenda, the improvements he wants to make, but she also points out two issues that Conservatives should be aware of if Hegseth is confirmed. Addressing his nomination Biblically, Hannah covers the sexual assault allegations, providing some history on Kat Dugan's accusations. Furthermore, Hannah provides commentary on how Christians are responding to these allegations. In today's homeschool segment, Hannah dives into the topic of Independent Study as an approach to homeschooling. What is it? What situations is it best suited for? When is independent study not a good idea? And what curriculums offer independent study options? Join Hannah this week ash she answers these questions and more!

As promised, this week’s podcast covers the Bird Flu. Starting the episode, Hannah lays the groundwork for what is happening in California and Governor Newsom’s state of emergency declaration. What was the declaration? What are the measures? What is the risk to humans? And what is the risk to the food supply? At this juncture, Hannah begins to interview her Dad, Dr. Robert Jackson, regarding how many cases we’ve seen in the US, how many deaths, and whether there has been human to human transmission. Dr. Jackson goes on to discuss the merits of the flu vaccine and who should or should not take it. Lastly, Hannah closes the show by discussing an article Joel Salatin for the Brownstone Institute regarding chicken culling and the governments response to the bird flu each year– is there a better way? Join Hannah and her Dad for this week’s podcast as they discuss all these questions and more.
