The Pitlane Punters Podcast is back, and you guessed it, there’s more news about Erebus Motorsport that’s dominating the headlines.
The team that won the Supercars Teams Championship last year is reportedly up for sale after a tumultuous start to 2024 and could have a whole new look next year.
That’s not the only Erebus update this week, as Brodie Kostecki now has full-time backing secured for 2024, and the identity of his enduro co-driver has been revealed.
There is also a bunch of news in open-wheel circles, with the sensational news that the Red Bull Racing dynasty could be on the verge of crumbling with designer Adrian Newey confirming his departure from the dominant force.
Meanwhile, Max Verstappen has been offered mega money from Mercedes, whilst Ferrari keeps on finding new ways to disappoint the F1 community…
We also commemorate the icon Ayrton Senna 30 years after the tragic events of the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix and pay tribute to Austrian racer Roland Ratzenberger.
And there’s been plenty going on in IndyCar as well, as Team Penske and Scott McLaughlin found themselves at the centre of controversy as a cheating scandal erupted from the season opener in St Petersburg.
Scotty Mac wasn’t down for long though, dominating the Grand Prix of Alabama over the weekend, whilst the motor racing world was introduced to a mannequin named Georgina.
Join Josh, Anthony, and Zac as we try to make sense of a crazy 2024 motorsport season on the latest Pitlane Punters Podcast.

The Pitlane Punters Podcast is back to debrief the Supercars Championship’s triumphant return to New Zealand at the Taupo Super400.
It was all action over the weekend, as the Kiwi fans were treated to two excellent 200 km races, highlighted by New Zealand’s own Andre Heimgartner winning on a wet and wild Saturday to cement his place in the history books.
The boys also throw their hats in the ring on the debate on whether or not a New Zealand doubleheader should be on Supercars’ priority list, and the Driver of the Year points get their latest update.
Whilst all eyes were on New Zealand in the Supercars world, two Kiwis stole the motorsport headlines in America over the weekend.
Shane van Gisbergen had a legitimate shot at victory in both NASCAR’s Xfinity and Cup Series’ at the fearsome Talladega, whilst Scott Dixon claimed an emotional win at IndyCar’s Long Beach Grand Prix days after the passing of Sir Colin Giltrap, one of Dixon’s key early backers.
All of that plus a look at the Chinese Grand Prix, where Max Verstappen continues to collect trophies like Monopoly properties, and Lance Stroll gave a new career a try…
Buckle up, it’s a wild ride on the latest Pitlane Punters Podcast.
