It’s the season 7 finale, Witchcasters! And in this episode, Emily and Kate are discussing a subject that has haunted them for a while: Spirit boards, or as they are more commonly known: Ouija boards. They discuss the ancient origins of spirit boards, from automatic writing in ancient China to its popular heyday in the era of 1890s Spiritualism, how Ouija got its trademark and when did they become synonymous with communicating with the devil thanks to the Satanic Panic of the 1970s. Then Kate and Emily both draw a couple tarot cards each, from Kate’s Universal Goddess tarot deck and from Emily’s Moon Power tarot deck, and discuss their meanings.
What do you think? Do you use spirit boards or Ouija boards? Do you think they are powerful tool and not to be trifled with — or just a mere plaything? Let us know!
