After two stunning silvers from Tom Walsh in the shot put and then Eliza McCartney in the pole vault, we all awoke on Monday morning of the Glasgow 2024 World Indoor Champs to discover Hamish Kerr had flown to the top of the world with a 2.36 WL, =AR and PB victory in the high jump. And then to top it all off Geordie Beamish unleashed the most brutal kick in the final 100m of the men's 1500 to become world champion!
So 10 athletes brought home four medals, seven top 5s, another top 10, multiple PBs and area records. That is one way to get us pumped on athletics in 2024!!

The New Zealand Cross Country Champs are arguably the toughest distance foot race in the country and this year did not disappoint. Bluebird weather, epic course and an all-time dramatic Senior Women's race. Then we came back for another day on the Sunday for the NZ Cross Country Mixed Relays where Bays came out on top.
We hear from Senior Men's winner Cameron Avery as well as the rest of the men's podium David Lee and Micheal Voss. And catch up with Lisa Cross after her EPIC weekend and her team captain James Kuegler of TTT Runners. Finally, we hear from Athletics NZ Competitions Manager Jason Cameron about the new development with mixed relays and where we are at with the state of domestic events and racing.
