Welcome Back!
Connor and Dustin are back and jumped right into the Conference Finals, of course talked about the Red Wings as the Griffins are currently on a playoff run for the Calder Cup. The prospect pool is churning and looking forward to the offseason to see whats happening contractually and what youngsters will we see take the ice.
Dustin brought up Trocheck when he was meaning to bring up Trouba, when he was referencing Gudas.Support the show

Connor and Dustin talk about the Wings Season, while overall they finished strong, theres still that issue of the losing streak they went on during Larking absence. It shows the lack of depth in the center position and hopefully thats something that Yzerman looks to strengthen this offseason via prospects or trades/free agents. Raymond surely put on a show this season making the case made for a big long term contract. With the Wings out of the playoffs the Connor and Dustin can watch some unbiased hockey. The Wings need to be in a WC1 position next year or better or they will have a lot of questions to answer.
Who do you think is going to win this years Stanley Cup? Will the Presidents Trophy Winner the Rangers finally break the curse?Support the show

The Wings have had an interesting end of February and early March. They had a winning streak moving into their West Coast trip and have recently lost 3 straight(ironically after announcing the recent jersey partnership). For the first time in a long time the Wings find themselves in a Wild Card spot. However when you evaluate the recent signings by Vegas, Colorado, Edmonton the Wings do not look to be at the calliaber. Does that mean Yzerman makes no moves at the deadline, and just shops in the offseason like we have seen him do as of late? We have some big signings this offseason with Seider and Raymond coming of their rookie contracts.
Do you think the Wings will end the season in a Wild Card Spot?Support the show

Connor and Dustin jump right into discussing the current status of the Wings.
With only 2 games back from the All Star Break there wasn't too much to dive into but they are needing to keep with their winning ways if they want to make the playoffs. Currently holding on to the last Wild Card Spot, the wings look to finish strong on their West Coast trip.Support the show

Dustin and Connor of course break down the recent Lions game, because we are Detroit based and I think everyone was talking about it. They had one amazing season and something to be proud about! Connor being the more analytical person wasn't as hard on Aaron Glenn as Dustin was. We think the Lions have created a solid team and cant wait to see how it plays out next season! The Red Wings have recently found themselves winning hockey games! After their early season slump they have turned it around big time without Kane skating for them. Larkin scored his 200th goal recently and Copp scoring his 100th(He didnt care). The team is playing solid hockey and not having the typical 2nd, or 3rd period break downs we have seen in the past. The Wings need to continue this winning in an ever challenging Atlantic division. The All Star break starts this upcoming Thursday, so the boys will be taking a break till hockey starts back up! Dustin will break down his time at the Stadium Series game Flyers vs Devils.

Connor and Dustin are back after taking time for a quick Winter Break, with Christmas and New Years its always hard to find a time to record. But the boys are back and so are the Red Wings. The Wings have been playing an elevated level hockey that was reminiscent to how they started the season. They have found their way back into playoff contention currently sitting with a wild card spot after winning against Tampa last night. Speaking of Tampa, the boys recorded before the game, but WOW! Lets go LIONS.
Patrick Kane is looking to nurse an injury and get back to skating, he did not skate the last two games on the road for the Wings. The Wings need to continue this elevelated play if they want to stay in contention for the Playoffs.

Connor and Dustin finally connect after a good holiday season with their families. One of the hot topics was of course the Joseph hit on Larkin and the Perron aftermath.
Dustin and Connor both echo Larkins comments about the Player Safety Board being so inconsistent that most of the players have little to no idea what will get supplemental suspensions and what wont. The Wings need to find out how to keep pucks out of the net quick, with their goaltending roaster starting to dwindle with injuries and the blue line looking moderate at best, they need to find some pieces to supplement soon.
Kane looks to be heating up looking like the Kane as of late, however, recent rumblings suggest he could be moving teams if the Wings are not a playoff contender come trade deadline.
Do the Red Wings look into their system to explore possible Blue line call ups? Do they search for a possible trade partner? What do you think needs to happen to make that next step?Support the show

This week was a quick episode, while Kane took the ice and skated he remained scoreless however had multiple opportunities. The Wings let up 4 goals after scoring their own 4 goals to lose in OT via the Sharks. The Wing needs to tighten up if the expect to remain a conversation for the playoffs, especially with the recent Kane signing. Connor was at the game and mentioned the odd rotation of the lines, with Kane staying out sometimes for 20 seconds sometimes longer.
Currently the Wings are 3rd in the Atlantic a spot they haven't held after Thanksgiving in some time. They need to look to capitalize when they are scoring and not let large leads go to waste. We hope to see Kane running normal lines sooner than later.
*This episode was recorded pre Larkin incident, this will be on the next episode as Connor and Dustin were both at the game*Support the show

The hot news of the week is the recent signing of Patrick Kane. Connor and Dustins expectations are similar in that you are getting a low cost high caliber player. Is he going to be superstar Kane like we are use to seeing? Only time will tell. I think its best to go into this at finding another solid scoring piece. How do you think this shakes up the lines? Do we see a Captain America Line? Cat-Larkin-Kane? Alex Lyon has proved to be a bright spot in between the pipes after Dustin gave him a hand slapping last pod, for what seemed to be for no reason as he posted a shutout soon after.
The Red Wings need to continue their offensive zone pressure and keep putting goals in the back of the net, Dustin would like to see Sider keep his emotions in check or take a comparable player with him to the box.
How do you think the Wings look coming into the Christmas break? Currently they are 3rd in the Atlantic, however with the Lightning getting their cup winning goaltender back in the net this division looks to tighten up closer to playoffs.

The Red Wings with almost a quarter of the season played are really right where most analysts had us at the start of the season unlike the Oilers...
However after a hot start from the Red Wings with Alex Debrincat starting the season on pace for 100 Points things have slightly cooled. That being said the Red Wings are currently in the Top 5 of most scoring teams, a big change over years past. However we are still ending a lot of games with 1 goal for or 1 goal against, when we thought goal scoring would win more of these toss ups this season. Seider has been taking a few penalties as of late, Dustin thinking he needs to pick his battles especially with the Domi penalty, him getting taken off the ice to Connors point is detrimental when he is the leading penalty killer and plays the power play as well.
The Red Wings needs to find the ability to score in the first period and hold off goals in the first as well, that has been their biggest hole this season.
The Boys hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with you friends and family!Support the show

The Red Wings are off to a hot start being 2nd in the Atlantic Division. Larking and Debrincat are clicking and we finally have true 2nd and third lines.
Thoughts and prayers out to Adam Johnson and his friends and family.
Dustin and Connor talk about neck guards and the implementation of them in multiple leagues around the world.
Dustin and Connor think the Wings have 4-5 wins in them moving into Thanksgiving. If they can keep up this pace there is 0 reason they wouldn't at least be in the conversation for playoffs and being buyers at the deadline.

What a way to start a season! After coming out with a loss to New Jersey the wings have been nothing but HOT since. Yzermans offseason signings have started to find their footings in the Yzerplan. The first line with Debrincat, Larkin, Raymond has been nothing but on fire. Currently Alex is on pace to score 100+ goals this season. The Larkin haters have seemed to be silenced as he can finally be the playmaker the Red Wings know he can be.

Episode 164
Preseason is here, and there is MUCH more excitement this time around. With the new additions to the roster, this Wings team should be primed for playoff contention. We know, we know - one step at a time.
The DeBrincat-Larkin connection is already looking good - the duo had identical goals in the games against Pittsburgh and Washington where DeBrincat receives a pass down low on the left side of the goal and feeds it across to Larkin, who then buries it in the gaping net.
We understand that preseason scores shouldn’t hold a lot of stock, but we can’t help but be pumped for a good Wings team! It’s been about 10 years since we’ve had something going!Support the show

We were joined this week with special guest, Carter Mazur! This young, 21-year-old wields a combination of skill and a scoring touch. Taken in the 3rd round (70th overall) by the Red Wings in 2021, Mazur played just two collegiate seasons at Denver University, winning a National Championship AND being named Rookie of the Year for the NCHC in his freshman year. Carter ended his second year at Denver by signing his ELC with Detroit and joining the AHL-affiliate Grand Rapids Griffins for the remainder of the season, tallying 6 points in 6 games.
We are just a few weeks from preseason hockey! Best of luck to Carter Mazur at the NHL Prospect Tournament up in Traverse City as we hope to see him in the winged wheel in the near future!Support the show

Episode 162
Early Stanley Cup odds are out and the favorite seems to be the Carolina Hurricanes with the Maple Leafs and Devils right behind them. There’s a 4-way tie for worst odds overall at +25000: Anaheim, Arizona, San Jose, and Montreal (lol). Your Detroit Red Wings have the 24th best odds at +7500, which is a definite underestimation since the Sens are at +4000.

Connor and Dustin catch up on some golf talk as well as the biggest move of the summer for the Red Wings.
If you haven't heard Yzerman finally made a big move in the offseason, signing Michigan native Alex DeBrincat. The boys have talked about him ad nauseam and it finally came to fruition. The Wings have needed a natural goal scorer for sometime and with this signing it looks like Larkin will finally have a linemate that can score. Raymond - Larkin - DeBrincat would be a goal scoring line and a real contender as a top line finally. Look for Larkin to increase his point production while not necessarily adding goals. It looks like the team is finally making strides to become a playoff contending team after currently tying the longest playoff drought in franchise history with 7 years(1971-1977).
With additions of depth players and a plethora of goalies the Red Wings look to find a team that can win. Do you think the wings made the right moves? Is it enough for the playoffs?

The draft went just as well as any Wings fan would hope for, but the free agency moves have the faithful quite confused. Although it’s only just begun, many were hoping that Yzerman was going to dive into a signing big name early such as DeBrincat or Terasenko.
Stevie definitely addressed some needs, however, with the depth added on the back end with Justin Holl and Shayne Gostisbehere as well as in the center position with the signing of JT Compher. On paper, the team seems deeper, but do these moves make the team a playoff contender? That’s the question as of now, and we shall see how the next two weeks pan out for free agency!Support the show

Episode 159
And just like that, the 2023 season is in the books! Vegas has won the cup in just their 6th season as an NHL franchise. What an incredible run for both teams - battling through broken bones all the way.
Just like many playoffs, stars were born during this year’s run: Eichel proved to be one hell of a playmaker these playoffs, Marchessault went from undrafted to Conn Smythe (beating his former squad in the SCF), and Adin Hill was a BRICK WALL all playoffs, setting records along the way.
Summer is here! This means we will be going to a bi-weekly schedule, so we will be back in a couple weeks!Support the show

The SCF is all set for 2023: Vegas vs Florida. Neither team has lifted Lord Stanley, so this is a series for the books! With Vegas already taking game 1, they are a mere 3 wins from etching their names into the silver sides of the Cup. Can they get it done or will the pesky Cats fight back and bring home the Cup to the Sunshine State?
Please go to 7 games! We need to milk as much hockey as we can out of this final series! (Dustin: Ill allow a game 5....fine a game 6 for Connor)Support the show

Episode 157
Because it’s Memorial Day, we had to get our golf talk in. Dustin gives his thoughts on his recent trip to American Dunes in Grand Haven.
Next topic was the Jamie Benn brain fart moment of cross checking Mark Stone in the jaw, leading to a 5-minute major plus a 2 game sussy. What on earth was the goal there? Although Dallas rallied for games 4 and 5, all signs point to a Florida vs Vegas Stanley Cup Final.
Does Tkachuk continue his tear and bring home the Panthers’ first Cup in franchise history? Or will Eichel get the sweet taste of a Stanley Cup victory, bringing Vegas their first Cup in franchise history? Either way, it will be an action-packed Final and we can’t wait for it!!Support the show
