  • My very special guest today is a former Sergeant with the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment who led his men into close quarters combat with Iraqi insurgents back in 2004.

It was the first time since the Falklands War that British soldiers had fixed bayonets before going into combat - in what became known as the "Battle of Danny Boy”

You may have heard about this in the news earlier this year – as if the trauma of the battle itself wasn’t enough, a so-called human rights lawyer named Phil Shiner took it upon himself to falsify claims about the details of this battle and bring bogus suits against members of an incredibly brave company

Thankfully this charlatan was finally exposed, but sadly the damage had already been done.

So without further ado, I give you Brian Wood, inspiration, hero and recipient of the Military Cross – telling the story of the Battle of Danny Boy in his own words…

  • My guest today is the Chief Executive of a very important charity called Hope and Homes for Children - that I discovered one day when one of their representatives made it onto my land and captured my attention for minute, which isn’t easy or safe…

And before you know it they have me, Kenny English and T-Bone roped into doing a triathlon and raising money for them!

Hope and Homes for Children, work tirelessly to take children out of orphanages and place them in loving homes where they can thrive and right now you can support them through their End the Silence campaign.

Go to endthesilence.com where you'll find an interactive music memory time capsule which allows you pick your most precious childhood song, donate, and then share it on social media along with the memory it evokes.

By joining the world’s top musicians in sharing your most precious childhood musical memory, you can help to end the silent suffering of neglected children in orphanages.

Hope and Homes for Children's End the Silence campaign aims raise £1.5m by Christmas to save eight million children suffering silently in shocking overseas orphanages.

And the great thing is that every pound donated to the campaign before the 27th December will be doubled by the UK Government - so do your thing my good people!

Now tune into this enlightening conversation with a very special guy - Mark Waddington - Chief Exec of Hope and Homes for Children...

So onto today’s guest. I hope your ears and your brain are warmed up and ready because this guy does not miss a beat! It’s 45 minutes of high intensity action and strong opinions!

If you’re very liberal you might want to put a little cotton wool in your ears to buffer what’s coming your way! But not too much now…

But yo seriously, I’m all about hearing all kinds of views and opinions, listening and maybe actually learning something – and maybe you will too…

So I give you Big Phil Campion – a veteran of military operations in just about every conflict-prone corner of the world, both as a soldier in the regular Armed Forces, an elite operator, and as a mercenary.

He’s now an author of 4 books, including his biography of his time as a military operator; Born Fearless, as well as two novels and an SAS everyday survival guide

And he’s also the brains and the muscle behind The Remembrance Rumble. A charity boxing match that sees ex-SAS soldiers take on ex-US Navy Seals. That’s goin off on November 11th in London, google it, getcha tickets.

We go all over the map on this one, putting the world to rights like only two vets can do. You’ll also hear a little bit from Phil’s wife Wendy too… Check it out and try to keep up!

  • It’s my brother from another mother and one of my closest friends – who also happens to be a badass superstar DJ – Mateo DiFontaine

Now some of my Fun Lovin Criminals fans out there will know Mateo – he toured with us back in the day, and earlier this year too, supporting the band, getting our crowds warmed up like no other. It was a blast to have him back with us this year rockin the decks and rockin bods!

Now Mateo is an insanely cool dude, who when he’s not making you jump around at an FLC gig you’ll most likely find him DJ-ing a Vanity Fair party, workin his magic at some awards show after party – hobnobbing with the rich, famous, cool and talented.

But in this pod we talk specifically about the last couple of years of his life when some real crazy life changing shit happened to him – how he came through it and how it’s changed his whole perspective on things.

And we manage to throw in a story about the time we got pinched roliin round the streets of New York on our BMXs, so listen out for that one….

And just a heads up on the sound on this one. We’ve heard your feedback and we’ve made some change to improve the sound quality on future episodes.

But this one was recorded a little while ago in the summer, out on Mateo’s deck in Brooklyn, so there’s a wind and the sounds of Brooklyn goin off in the background. Stick with it, it’s great story and we’re workin on the sound for future episodes,as I said….

    Check it out, yo.

We got my boy DJ Mateo DiFontaine coming up soon, as well as hip hop legend DJ Premier, so it wasn’t all fun and games – I was thinking of you while I was chillin with my peoples.

We’re hitting the ground running with a seriously inspirational guy today – he’s an ex Royal Marine Commando who was injured in the line of duty – now a triple amputee – and wheelchair free.

So don’t whatever you do feel sorry for this guy… He can lift more than you, row harder than you, run faster than you, swim farther than you...Which is a good deal because he’s competing in the Invictus Games in Toronto starting this week – on September 23rd 2017.

  • For this week's pod got with my man Arthur Baker – it’s another transatlantic connection with Arthur dialling in from his adopted home town Miami.

If you don’t know, Arthur is a legendary music producer and DJ who’s been on the scene since he gave Muddy Waters a ride home when he was 17 years old.

He’s worked with literally everyone in the business from Mary J Blige to Miles Davies and he’s got all the stories you’d expect from a guy who’s been around a block that fancy. He was also a regular on the UK rave scene in the 90's, hung out at Hacienda in it's heyday and produced records for New Order...

So kick back and tune in for more rock n roll insider stories on Huey: Off The Record…

  • My guest on today’s pod is a little different to the line up so far, but she's still a musician and a total G so I know you’re gonna like her. Jen Sincero is the New York Times bestselling author of You Are a Badass and You Are a Badass at Making Money.

She’s also written a semi autobiographical novel called Don’t Sleep with Your Drummer – a sentiment that I absolutely endorse! As well as The Straight Girls Guide to Sleeping with Chicks...

Jen is a badass New York musician and writer who got tired - in her own words - of being ”broke as a joke” so she set out to learn about the world of self improvement.

She journeyed to LA, high fived people at seminars, and did all kinds of corny stuff that made her cynical New York sensibilities feel very uncomfortable… And as she shares on the pod, it started to work!

Now she’s a bestselling author, success coach and motivational cattle prod – again her words! – and she shares some pretty cool stuff on how to get what you want out of life, and she does it in a really easy to understand, non-corny way, which is very coo

So open your mind and your ears, it’s bona fide badass Jen Sincero…
