In this show, I wanted to reflect on our first 50 shows. This is going to be a great show for newer listeners to get an idea of which shows they might want to prioritise when back cataloguing, but it’s also a chance for us all to reflect on the incredible knowledge that’s been imparted with us over this first year, and perhaps revisit some of the shows that are just so packed with information that - if you’re anything like me - you want to make sure you didn’t miss anything.
Enjoy the show as I talk about my favourite aspects of each show and celebrate the collective knowledge shared so far.
Thank you so much for joining me so far and see you in September after a month’s break in August!
Alexx.

In this week’s show after the 3 part series on GMOs, pesticides and organics, we are travelling to the moon - Well, almost.
I thought it would be lovely to take a closer look at how the phases of the moon can impact us and Jordanna is the perfect beginner’s guide for us.
We look at productivity, action, retreat and reflection, setting intentions vs, sitting back and analysing and when is the best time in the moon’s cycle to optimise various plans in our month and lives. Jordan also takes us through what setting up a moon practice might look like and shares loads of interesting facts with me in our chat from biodynamic agriculture, to women’s cycles, to how astrology fits in and more.
If you thought a white sphere some 380K kilometres away from the earth didn’t impact us, think again and enjoy this week’s show.

Fran Murrell was just going about her science degree in the mid 90s, a new mum horrified by pesticide use and its implications concerning our health in the long term. She decided to do a thesis on how these new GM crops back then, were going to be these amazing developments that would allow farmers to use minimal to no pesticides.
What she found in her research was quite the opposite and in today’s episode, we share her deeply personal realisation as both a scientist / researcher and a parent as well as a beautiful chat FULL of nuggets on just how simple it is to change the world from our homes and daily choices.
You are guaranteed to leave this week’s show feeling a whole lot more positive about the future and I hope you enjoy the chat as much as I did.

A solo show today to follow on from last week’s sobering exposé by Profession Michael Antoniou on pesticides, namely those containing glyphosate with his ground breaking lab study on low level exposure and the damaging effects.
Rather than freak out today’s show helps you do the opposite. Freaking out is SO not the vibe of living low tox, where KEY is positive, delicious change rather than being paralysed fear, doom and gloom! So, stop feeling guilty about what you’ve done up until now, start feeling excited about what you can change and let’s talk about how to incorporate more organic foods into your day today in such a way that won’t break the bank and will lower toxic load in an impactful way. Sound good? I can’t wait to hear what you think and please add your own ideas and additions over on the show notes comments section, which you’ll find here along with our beautiful sponsor offer: https://www.lowtoxlife.com/podcast/

We hear about genetically modified foods now and then in the media but do we REALLY hear unbiased information, whether it be farmers that use them or manufacturers that tout their ability to ‘feed the world’ or whether it be on blogs and natural health click bait sites warning that they are the root of all evil, bringing the world closer to impending doom?
Alexx met Professor Antoniou at his King’s College London lab at Guy’s hospital (yes that’s the kind of visit Alexx likes to make on holidays overseas!) to see first hand the test he was carrying out on what the effects of low level every day residue of pesticide, specifically glyphosate used heavily in GMO agriculture, might do to the body.
They talk about that study and much more in this not to be missed episode for anyone seeking clarity and a deeper understanding of the GM concerns and effects of glyphosate based herbicides.

There’s a lot of buzz around intermittent fasting and the 5:2 diets over the past couple of year BUT: Are they for everyone?
What do we need to consider before embarking upon either? How do they differ? And are there therapeutic benefits or dangers in either of them? These are the questions and more that Alexx asks Naomi to shed light on today so that if you were to consider giving them a go, you’ve taken your own health factors into account and you know what the signs of either success or them not being the right thing for you right now might be.
Lots of great info and a little curiosity challenge set for us all, too.

Alexx launched this podcast nearly a year ago, with a passion for bringing you all aspects of the low tox life - toxin reduction information, inspirational eco businesses doing right by people and planet, health topics for the body and mind to help us live our best lives…
The very first show was the infamous “Poopcast” all about poop, and if you thought there was only one show in the topic, you’d be wrong ;-)
This week we talk all about constipation with Lynda who is highly specialised in the the area and what’s brilliant is, it’s a super practical, can-do show to help you and anyone you know, get moving. Our bowels aren’t our only detox point, but they’re an important one, and the ramifications of NOT going, can be many.

This week Alexx your host, chats to the wonderful Meik Wiking - A man with an idea to research happiness who then founded the Happiness Research Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark - the happiest country on earth.
In this show they discuss 2 things. Firstly, The Happiness Paradox - what makes Denmark a recurring winner of the title “Happiest country in the world” and why the happiest countries in the world don’t have the lowest suicide rates. Secondly, they go on to chat about Hygge and his New York Times best seller: The Little Book of Hygge: The Danish Art of Living well.
It’s a meaningful chat and one Alexx knows you’ll be able to take on the challenge we set for all listeners this week with gusto.

Alexx absolutely adores meeting a fellow nerd - someone who passionately digs and digs into all the wonderful areas we can go on various aspects of health and wellbeing.
Like Alexx, Kirsty Wirth came to start her journey of digging due to health challenges - her gut woes and her son’s autism diagnosis. What that diagnosis did was propel her to become an expert on all things related to gut health, including an encyclopaedic knowledge of the role of individual probiotic strains.
In today’s chat Alexx and Kirsty discuss the benefits of certain probiotic strains as well as the hindrance of other certain bacteria strains to feeling your best. They talk dysbiosis, leaky gut, histamine, autism, pathogens, parasite cleansing and SO MUCH MORE.

In this week’s show, Alexx chats to Cole Clayton, who after career searching for much of his 20s, he tuned into his sadness for the state of health of so many kids today and became a health coach, specialising in kids.
His passion for helping kids thrive matches Alexx's own but his approach is different and she found it wonderful to chat to him about his passion for Oral Myology and helping mouth-breathing kids correct the reasons they’re mouth breathing (not having mouth closed as default position) and the impact that sleeping with your mouth closed can have on energy, brain function, behaviour, sinus health and more.
If you’re a parent or simply interested in out of the box therapies and their impact, this is definitely a show you’ll enjoy - not to mention getting to know this easy going, passionate man on a quest for better children’s health.
