A couple of months back, I sat with Paddy Creaven for an honest and open podcast. He was on a weight loss mission while trying to recuperate after surgery. His 'failure is not an option' proverb, saw him through this challenging time. The positive and supportive reaction to his story warranted a revisit. Charlotte Sweeney was a young woman who embraced life, loved new challenges and had a heart of gold. A metastatic breast cancer diagnosis may have put an obstacle in her way, but her zest for life kept her going in the face of adversity. Sadly, she was taken from her family and friends in December of last year. As a keen Scientist, she explored her illness, and now in her memory, her family and friends want to continue her legacy with Charlotte's Vision. I sat with her mam, Virgie and two friends, Michelle and Caroline. We talked fondly about Charlotte, and the upcoming New Year's Eve Ball.

Tuam native, Paddy Creaven, is on a mission. After crippling hip pain brought him to a sobering meeting with a consultant, Paddy was told the inevitable. 'Get the weight down, and surgery for an arthritic hip was a possibility'. The Tuam man has been battling obesity most of his life, but has turned things around, and is using his challenge in a proactive and productive way. He has already reached his goal, and is staring at it in the rear view mirror. He isn't finished yet! Take a listen to this inspiring guy's story........ so far.

An accomplished musician and teacher, she faced many health obstacles over the past three years with great determination and wit. The night of April 1st 2008 was a night the Holohan and Carroll families will never forget. Aoibhe, their precious little 4 year old, woke up distressed. Eventually, this led to medical assistance, but unfortunately Aoibhe lost her battle. Listen, as her mom Siobhán grieved but found the strength to carry on and set up ACT for Meningitis to educate, assist and inform families, while keeping Aoibhe's legacy and memory close to her heart.

For a generation, Charle Bird brought us hard hitting news as a journalist on RTE. Little did we realize, on a recent Late Late Show appearance, he was going to give us one more devastating story. This one was different, it was personal. His diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease struck a chord and sent an empathetic shockwave through the country he so deeply loves. The man’s voice, which was instrumental to his reporting, was under threat of being no more. Upon announcement of one of his wishes to climb Croagh Patrick, the nation decided to reign in behind him. Charlie is on an uphill battle, and in true Irish fashion, we are going to travel a part of that journey with him on April 2nd. Karla Quinn and Barry McCabe have both traveled the MND road with loved ones. They are also two driving forces behind the Slieve Aughty and Knockma climbs. Listen to their stories. Creativity takes courage. This is Josh Evason in a nutshell. The seventeen year old has managed to redefine the word 'busy.' Not only is he an extremely sociable young man who hold a prestigious Irish Dancing title, he RUNS HIS OWN BUSINESS! Did I mention that he is a high achiever in school? I'm even tired writing this piece!
