On this week’s episode, Carrie is sharing an incredible experience we had with our recent scholarship offering. Initially, we planned to award one full scholarship, but we were so moved by the stories we received and so overwhelmed by the hundreds of applications that we decided to give away 25 partial scholarships, totaling over $60,000. This experience was not only joyful but also enlightening, as it revealed five key insights about the challenges many women face regarding their health and wellness.
Decades of Struggle: Many women have been grappling with their relationship with food and their bodies for over 40 years. How long have you been dieting?Self-Investment: A common belief is that investing in oneself is selfish. Are you taking care of yourself first?Weight as a Goal: Many women equate their self-worth and success with a specific weight. Are you doing this?Health vs. Weight: Often, health is secondary to the desire to lose weight. Do you want to achieve overall health or lose weight?Fear as a Barrier: Fear can hold us back from making the changes we desire. What are you afraid of?Listen in this week, you’re not alone and the Disruptive Nutrition community is here to support your journey!

Welcome to episode #5 in our Time Management Mini-Series!
We’ve spent the last few weeks detailing activities that can help you control time rather than letting it control you. This week Carrie is sharing a strategy that begins each morning as she starts her day. She’s also sharing a relatable story – cleaning the bird poop off a pool lounger. If we neglect our daily planning, or small daily activities, the mess accumulates and makes our tasks and our time much harder to manage. Instead, we can reflect each day, adjust plans, create consistency in our morning routines (which is where most people fail) and take control of each day.

Join Carrie as she sits down with Mary Lee, a menopause doula, to discuss a topic that resonates deeply with many women: menopause. Mary’s unique title reflects her mission to support women through this significant life transition. The term "doula" comes from the Greek word meaning "woman who serves." In her role, she fills the educational void left by the medical community, providing women with the knowledge and support they need to navigate the often confusing and challenging changes that accompany menopause.
Despite what we’ve been told, menopause doesn’t have to be a dreaded phase of life. Instead, it can be a time of celebration and empowerment. This time during the holidays can often derail our self-care routines, but by using the strategies in this week’s episode we can show up for ourselves. After all, the holidays should be about connection and celebration, rather than guilt or restriction!

What thrives in a deficit? Stop and think about that question for a moment. And then consider that the diet industry has been telling us that calorie deprivation is the only way to weight loss and overall health. In a recent study, more than 50% of Americans are on a diet, but only about 5% of people can maintain weight loss for the long term.
This week’s episode is an open letter to nutritionists as we evaluate what is being taught across the country. We’re missing the root cause of what people are searching for and the relationship between our bodies and food is getting worse. It’s our job to change that and challenge the industry.
We're offering a special discount until 12/6/24 for anyone who wants to take their health to the next level and become certified PFC3 Health Coach! Listen in this week for details or visit the link: https://www.pfc3healthpro.com/certification.

Join Carrie for a Real Talk, Real Stories episode, featuring Diamond! Her story is one that you won’t believe! Diamond was in kidney failure, on dialysis and at 53 underwent her second (yes, second) Kidney transplant. At a follow-up appointment in reviewing her labs, her doctor told her that her phosphorus was low and told her to drink Coca-Cola to increase her phosphorus! News flash, there is zero nutritional value in Coca-Cola.
Diamond didn’t drink soda and at that point decided against the nutritional advice of her doctor. Instead, she was going to take her new kidney, and find a new way to take care of her health so she went to Dr. Google instead and found Carrie!
What made the difference for Diamond? Working on improving 1% each day in mind, body and lifestyle. The best part was that she was being supported in small group coaching sessions and in honor of that we are giving our listeners the chance to do the same, but only for the next 24 hours!
