This week we talk with Travis Harmon of Creative Habitat about wildflowers, fruit trees, bee keeping and hunting.
We started purchasing wild flower seeds from Creative Habitat about three years ago and have been really impressed with the results. The colors, the quality, and the increased pollinators and other wildlife have brought a new level of joy to what we are doing on our property. You can find Creative Habitat online at

We decided to do one more week in our series of controversial topics. This week Mike comes to his senses and gets on board with getting NY to become a 1 buck state. We talk about the changes in how NYers will get their licenses this year, as well as how we can better manage our deer herd, our habitat, and most of all our hunters.
-
Mike and Charlie get into it a bit this week as the cover improvements in technology and the high cost of getting outfitted to hunt. The concern is that hunting might becoming a "rich person's sport," yet most of us began in second hand gear and cheap guns. Is it the improved technology that is allowing us to shoot bigger deer, or is it that we have honed our skills over the years? We don't have definitive answers but the discussions are still worth having. As hunters we have our biases but it's healthy to be able to see both sides.
-
This week we briefly discuss the hatred of crossbows in the hunting community and through a series of rabbit trails we spend a good bit of time discussing TSI, FSI, and tree felling.
