I Formed A Band is a podcast that talks to people who formed bands about the part before they got famous: why did they do it, what did it take to get there, and what was life like when they were forming a band?
It’s hosted by Eddie Argos, who formed a band called Art Brut and sings a song called Formed A Band; and Joe Sparrow, who did not form a band, but probably should have done.
There’s a huge, secret story behind every successful band: a heady mix of ambition, desperation, perseverance, daydreams, sleeping on sofas, surviving hangovers in the back of a Transit van, and dumb luck. That's what this podcast is about.
(And it's also about compiling The Argos Catalogue: a comprehensive collection of Eddie's various stories of meeting members of the Wu-Tang Clan in a lift, or singing Half Man Half Biscuit songs with Liam Gallagher, etc)
We love hearing from you – if you've got a question for Eddie, send us an email to [email protected]
Oh, also sign up to our email newsletter here – we’ll send you the latest episodes first, and some bonus podcast bits (maybe).

Listen all ya'll, this is Flow and Tell
Bringing you dope tracks that'll make your playlist swell!
Welcome to Flow and Tell, a new show from the Jabroni U Podcast Network, featuring James Bryington and Andy Liner of The Draft Podcast fame. Every episode James and Andy bring each other a Hip/Hop track the other hasn't heard. The song could be new, or from 1992, because any song we haven't heard is new to us. Each of them presents their song, and then they react and discuss.
You're going to get a music perspective from two very different rap music fans, one with a more classic sensibility and one who likes all these new kids. Listen in as they surprise you with the things they never knew they liked until they listened! -

What does it mean for one’s music to be inspired or informed by nature? How do musicians engage with nature in their own work? What does this word nature even mean?
In this interview series, composer Ryan Suleiman (Ph.D.) talks with composers and performers about the role of nature in the work they do generally and asks what the role of artists is in our troubled times.
On an aesthetic level, music provides a crucial space for us to reflect on the beauty around us and try to grapple with very deep and sometimes troubling philosophical questions that face us as individuals and as a civilization.
Inspired by the heroic contributions of others at the onset of the pandemic in 2020, Ryan hopes that sharing ideas and conversations about how musicians engage with nature will help inspire others to use their skills to help us find a way out of this crisis of our relationship with nature.

In the late 90's a group of Toowoomba business people, civic leaders and the city's church community come together with an audacious plan - stage a gospel music festival that will bring people into the city over the Easter weekend.
Despite humble beginnings, Easterfest (formerly the Australian Gospel Music Festival) grew to achieve major event status in Queensland, and became one of the largest ticketed drug and alcohol free events in the southern hemisphere.
But only a few years after their biggest event, Easterfest became yet another casualty of the music festival business.
It's been a decade since the final festival in 2015, and this podcast series will look back at how Easterfest grew to become a major player in Christian music internationally, and the events that led to the event coming to an end.
It's a celebration of almost two decades of music, community and a spirit of unity, with the story told by the organisers, volunteers and the musicians that graced the stages of Easterfest.
The Rise & Fall of Easterfest is written and hosted by Justin Rouillon and is a production of 96five Studios.
