We're witnessing what could be the most perplexing era in American history.
Fringe ideas, conspiracy theories, anti-intellectualism, and a rejection of science are all gaining a foothold in our public discourse. It's maddening.
We started “Life in the Stupid Times” to connect with people who share our frustration with the times we face. It’s free to listen. Contribute what you want, even if it’s nothing at all.
We are, let’s face it, hurtling toward fascism and idiocracy. History has seen this before. And all the signs are evident now.
Our podcast exists to remind ourselves and our audience that much of what we’re experiencing is not normal. And we cannot let it become normalized.
Fascism occurs when people surrender and acquiesce to the changes around them. Some will do that enthusiastically. Others will do it reluctantly. And to our children, this could become the only reality they ever know.
We can’t let that happen. One way to avoid a fascist future is to reaffirm what we stand for and what we oppose.
Going to the streets will be necessary, but it will not be sufficient. The same is true for writing, podcasting, boycotts, community organizing and direct, nonviolent action. We must do all those things simultaneously. Only relentless pressure on several
This era wlifend, If we are determined. But until it does, you don't have to face stupidity alone.
Every week (more or less), "Life in the Stupid Times" examines the insanity to help you make sense of the growing pile of nonsense.
This is not the most slick podcast out there. Our style is bare-bones. We record on at-home equipment and edit it ourselves. Frankly, we are learning as we go.
There's no cure for stupidity. But we can prevent it.

Saving The City is a groundbreaking new 10-part limited-series podcast that sheds light on the multiple issues Dublin is facing, and works to solve these issues by bringing the best minds together at home and abroad.
Presented by Una Mullally. Produced by Lisa Gallagher Fox and Una Mullally. Editor- Shane Dempsey / Collaborative Studios. This series was supported by Dublin Town.
All cities suffered during the pandemic, but Dublin more than most. Yet this also offers ground-up opportunities to reimagine how our capital functions.
Presented by journalist and author Una Mullally, Saving The City offers an injection of hope and positivity for Dublin, with practical solutions to revolutionize how our city works, and how to improve the quality of life for its residents.
“I’ve been writing about Dublin for most of my adult life, tracking everything from arts scenes to social movements, small businesses and local government. As someone who cares deeply about the city, one of the things I feel is consistently lacking in discourse about the present state and future vision for the Irish capital are great ideas that express ambition and enthusiasm for doing things better. That’s what Saving The City is about: talking to really smart people doing great work on the ground in Dublin, and international experts who bring their insight to how Dublin and all cities can flourish post-pandemic. Beginning with the principles of Jane Jacobs, Saving The City tracks what works well and where, and how we can do more of it, as well as introducing listeners to radical and innovative ideas that would improve urban life, and create genuinely thriving, beautiful, and equitable cities.” - Una Mullally
Across ten episodes, Saving The City aims to end the doom loop, and tracks solutions for public space, housing, gentrification, nighttime culture, biodiversity, cooperative models and community wealth-building, social cohesion, and design.

Anthony Scaramucci and Sam Bankman-Fried were the unlikeliest of business partners. “The Mooch” is a nearly sixty-year-old son of a Long Island crane operator who sprung from Harvard Law to fight his way up the ranks of traditional financewith an infamous eleven-day stint in the White House along the way. “SBF” is a newly-thirty-year-old son of two law professors raised on an elite campus who aimed to revolutionize all that people like the Mooch represented and he’d already become a multi-billionaire on the way.But partner they did –on a series of conferences and with SBF closing a deal that could have led to his owning the Mooch’s Skybridge Partners outright -but they became something more than that and before the story ends with SBF in handcuffs, their friendship would take them everywhere from the Bahamas to Riyadh –with rumors of polycules, plentiful cups of noodles, and the Mooch toting a bag of suits he bought SBF out of instance that he could not meet the rules of Saudi Arabia in a worn out t-shirt and dirty white socks.
