Today’s podcast is a conversation about Birth Trauma with Dr Erin Bowe.
We speak about:
What is a birth trauma?
How to know if you may be experiencing birth trauma
How partners can also experience birth trauma
How to approach pregnancy and delivery post trauma And much more.
Dr. Erin Bowe is a Clinical & Perinatal Psychologist, Course Creator, Business Mentor and Author of More Than a Healthy Baby: Finding Strength & Growth After Birth Trauma. She has 12+ years experience supporting families through trauma to find growth, strength and beautiful resilience they never knew possible. Her online courses have over 2400 students from 36 countries.
She previously taught childbirth education with Hypnobirthing Australia and ran Birth Trauma Training for Birth workers - the podcast. She has been featured in the Sydney Morning Herald, Kidspot, Essential Baby & Essential Kids. In 2020 she was a finalist in 2 categories for the AusMumpreneur Awards.
After experiencing her own birth trauma (twice!) she quickly learned how little support and training there is for our birth workers who hear and witness these stories every day. From this, she developed two birth trauma training courses – one for parents, and one for birth workers. She has attracted over 2000 students in less than 12 months, so this speaks volumes to how much this work is needed.

Friendships are one of life’s greatest gifts but what happens when a friendship changes over time and morphs into something that leaves you feeling poorly? Or perhaps you find yourself in a friendship out of circumstance or purely because of a shared history but you don’t feel valued or cared for? There are times in life when it is appropriate and necessary to move away from certain friendships. Dr Hannah has written a book on it, detailing the ways to identify if a friendship is no longer a good fit, asserting yourself, boundaries and if need be, ending a friendship.
Dr Hannah Korrel is a Sydney based neuropsychologist and has spent over a decade becoming an expert in why the brain makes us do the things we do (and sometimes don't want to do!). Fierce mental health advocate, Hannah brings neurology and psychology together to explain common life dilemmas, minus the BS. On the side, Hannah helps people learn assertiveness skills through her app Assert Yourself.

Episode 183 of the podcast is a casual Instagram story style chat all about Leaning into a “wintering” and objectively zooming out to see what is working and what isn’t. Sometimes in life we hold onto things with the best intentions but the white knuckling or holding on too tightly can change things. It can create such narrow tunnel vision.
There are times we have to (get to) pivot.
