Spoiler alert for Hereditary (2018). Yes, that does make sense in context.
Buckle in fellas as we dive into some early proto-feminism in the form of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House, specifically the *really* hard to find adaptation from 1973 with David Warner and Jane Fonda (with a brief mention of the... other 1973 adaptation which features Anthony Hopkins and Claire Bloom). Yeah, it's confusing. And feminist. Woo! Also Matt talks about the Mabou Mines production, but forgets the name of the company.

Tennessee Williams strikes again! This time with a film version he hated! In this episode, The Tiemstra Bros. discuss how the film preserves so many surface level parts of the source material... while not quite understanding why Williams hated it so much.

Meredith Wilson's 1957 classic won the hearts of America, but will its 1962 adaptation pull a fast one 57 years later? Join the Tiemstra Bros. as they delve into what might be a timeless classic, or might be a 2 and a half hour re-staging of the original piece with the barest hint of a change.
Or...BOTH?!?!

This Oscar season, we're taking a shallow dive into a film that has been made 4 TIMES (and that's only counting English Language Hollywood adaptations). We watched 3 of them back to back, so if we sound a little sleep deprived, this is why.
Next, week, we're going to take 39 Steps into the world of Alfred Hitchcock...

Guess what time it is? IT'S CLASSISM TIME! Welcome to the nearly three-hour Lerner and Lowe musical based on a play by George Bernard Shaw, that may or may not have aged well or poorly depending on whether you agree with Matt or Rob.
Is it a bloated mess of Anglo-centric quasi-nuance, a sexist endorsement of wanton cruelty, or an incisive character piece? And can you hear Matt making his dinner in the background while Rob doesn't notice?
