-
Pastor Jason, intern Sophie, and creative director Jordan engage in a conversation about our upcoming series "EMPIRE: A Series on Sex, Love and Power."
In the season of Eastertide, we consider what it means to be a resurrection people contending against false empires of power, sex, and money. Resurrection people sit at the heart of God’s mission to overtake the earth with the life of heaven. We are invited to belong to it, but that is easier said than done. Have we truly decided to have Jesus be the master of our lives? Or do the thrones of our lives remain filled with false idols promising life that Jesus claims is found in Him? Together, we confront the empires of our world by asking:
Whom do I actually choose to serve?
1:17 - James K.A. Smith, You Are What You Love11:05 - Lecrae, “just because you get to choose your master doesn’t mean you aren’t a slave.”14:15 - Tim Keller, Every Good Endeavour16:23 - James 4:7 20:05 - Numbers 14:2-4
