    Hey Pickles,

We hope you're taking care of yourselves & your tribe. This week, we're throwing away our usual format so that we can just have a conversation about the election, how we're feeling, what we're fearing, and how we can go forward.

We also want to offer information on where you can go if you need support, if you're having a hard time coping, or if you're a member of any of the communities that have been under fire by the Trump camp.

Of course, always call 911 if you or someone you know is in an emergency situation.
Call 988 for help if you're feeling suicidal.

Crisis Text Line: Text "TALK" to 741741. National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: Call 1-800-273-8255. For the hearing impaired, call 1-800-799-4889. Veterans Crisis Line: Call 800-273-8255 or text 838255. National Domestic Violence Hotline: Call 1-800-799-7233. Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline: Call 1-800-422-4453. RAINN National Sexual Assault Hotline: Call 1-800-656-4673.

    Hey Pickles!

Well, did you have global Microsoft outage on your 2000 bingo card? Neither did we!

Due to the outage, Christine's Sister & her husband were unable to fly home. Christine has been pet sitting for them, and needs to extend her stay out of town.

This means she was unable to make it back to the Ol' Compassion & Cucumbers studio so that we could record a new episode!

We're releasing this replay of Ep 104 of the show. This episode is worth another listen as we discuss the ways that the dairy industry is influencing youth!

We also talk about a student that joins a law suit against the USDA, and her school district after her school prevented her from handing out information about the effects of dairy on the heath of her fellow students.

We have a recipe from our From Our Vegan Kitchen series that's near & dear to Christine's heart.

We also have a Listener Shout Out, and all the usual shenanigans that you've come to know & love (hopefully 😊)

Thanks so much for your understanding in this situation, and enjoy the episode!

    Hey Pickles!

We hope you're well. We have an important episode for you this week.

In our Noteworthy segment, we'll tell you about a controversial mega dairy in Oregon that has been decommissioned. It's good news, but this dairy has left behind a wake of environmental damage.

Our Main Topic this week explores how we, as vegans, need to not only focus on the liberation of the animals in the animal ag industry, but we should be working also to liberate the people forced to work in the industry.

Our Vegan Org of the Week is Vegan Forum. Check it out here: https://www.veganforum.org

Our Restaurant SOS goes out to Strong Hearts in Syracuse & Buffalo NY! This is one of our favorite vegan spots, and we were thrilled to see that they were nominated by listener, Michelle V!

We have a new Listener Shout Out, some calls to action for you, and a good does of our usual hilarity.

Thank you so much for spending a little time out of your day with us. We really appreciate you!

    Love, Sam & Christine

    Hey Pickles!

Welcome to a new episode! We hope it finds you well!

This week, we talk about Christine's vegan birthday treat. We also ask for your help with a moral quandary that we're currently wrestling with at the top of the show.

We have a new recipe from our Vegan Cookbook Challenge! This week, we make three recipes from the book, Provecho by Edgar Castrejon.

In our Noteworthy segment, we'll give you an update on the 2024 Farm Bill. As usual, there are issues that the right & the left can't seem to agree on.

Our Main Topic this week is a look at the possibility of a vegan world. Is it possible? What would need to happen? How can we achieve global veganism?
We answer some of these questions, and it's a pretty great discussion.

Our Restaurant SOS nominee this week is Earthy Picks in Orlando Florida.
Check out their amazing menu here: https://earthypicks.com

Our Vegan Org of the Week is The Open Sanctuary Project. This wonderful organization provides information & resources to those wanting to start an animal sanctuary!
Find out more about their work here: https://opensanctuary.org
