Patients with congenital heart disease are living longer than ever, making adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) a growing specialty. This episode's interviews feature ACHD specialists Drs. Ari Cedars and Hani Najm. Dr. Cedars practices at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and leads the ACHD research interest group for the National Patient Centered Outcomes Research Network. Dr. Najm chairs the Department of Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Thomas MacGillivray, chief of cardiac surgery and transplantation at Houston Methodist leads a panel discussion on early experiences with ECMO and COVID-19 patients. He’s joined by Dr. Eddie Suarez, surgical director of Houston Methodist’s lung transplantation program; Gill Ford, Houston Methodists’ chief perfusionist; Dr. Faisal Masud, Houston Methodist chief of the department of critical care currently coordinating care of COVID-19 patients; Lena Soo, ICU nurse and ECMO specialist; and Joe Basha, CEO of Houston Extracorporeal Therapies.
