Greetings listeners!
On this week's episode of the show we've got a stacked Quest Log!
Kyran dishes out his early impressions for Dragon Age: The Veilguard based on his first 7 or 8 hours, tiptoes around spoilers for Mouthwashing, and gives a more in depth look at Metaphor: ReFantazio after 60 hours with the game.
Joel also joins Kyran in talking about cracking packs in Pokémon TCG Pocket as we both lament our terrible RNG when it comes to collecting these digital cards.

We're back after an unplanned weekly delay, but it's worth the wait because Kyran can bring his complete thoughts on the recently released Silent Hill 2 Remake now that he has completed it, we also talk briefly (and spoiler-free) about the newest DLC for Alan Wake 2, The Lake House and Joel fills us in on his time with Kill Knight.
Meanwhile in the Bonus Round we talk about our time at PAX Australia 2024 including plenty of praise for Massive Monster and Devolver Digital's Cult of the Lamb and some of the panels we attended. Joel also talks about a couple of the indie games he sampled including our new most anticipated game, My Arms Are Longer Now.

Greetings listeners!
We're back after an unintentional and unexpected month off, Joel's been busy with shows and Kyran's body has been trying to get sick before PAX again but both of us are back and ready to go on a new episode.
In the Quest Log Kyran tells Joel about just how much the Persona DNA is noticeable in the early stages of Metaphor: ReFantazio thanks to a recently released demo and offers some impressions of the charming indie hit, Plucky Squire. Meanwhile Joel's been living his best outlaw life in Star Wars: Outlaws and serves up some of his early opinions on Ubisoft's latest game.
Then in the Bonus Round we talk briefly about the recent news that 343 Studios is changing their name to just Halo Studios and the shift away from the Slipspace Engine and moving future Halo games to the Unreal Engine. We also finally find time to break down Sony's most recent State of Play and congratulate them on doing a good one at last.

On this week's episode Kyran spends a bit of time in the Quest Log reminiscing about Destiny on its 10 year anniversary and spends some time unpacking the recent update Bungie provided on the future of the series. We then switch gears and Joel joins Kyran in offering their early (and incredibly positive) impressions for Team Asobi's critically acclaimed new release, Astro Bot.

We're back with another episode after an unexpected delay.
In the Quest Log this week Kyran gets a little nostalgic about the recently re-released Timesplitters trilogy as it arrives on PlayStation and Joel has fulfilled his promise from the last episode and completed Thank Goodness You're Here and attempts to tell Kyran what he loved about it without giving away too much of the good stuff.
Meanwhile in the Bonus Round we work through some of the biggest headlines from Geoff Keighley's Gamescom Opening Night Live and talk about some of the stuff that got us hyped and some things that really didn't.

We're back after an unexpected break due to stuff not going as planned for both of our hosts!
In order to ease ourselves back in we have a short little Quest Log episode for you all. Kyran leads us through his early impressions for a number of releases including Zenless Zone Zero, the recently released Visions of Mana demo, and tortures Joel with glowing impressions for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
We're closing in on Gamescom now, so look forward to hearing us break down everything that unfolds at Opening Night Live and beyond!

On this week's episode of the show we have recruited Jesse (from The Falcon: A Footy Podcast) to help us take a bit of a dive into our love of Alan Wake 2 plus really going in on the recently released Night Springs DLC. Tread lightly if you haven't played yet, we do touch on some spoilers related to the content of those episodes. If you want to be cautious we move beyond spoilers and get read to move on at around 1:07:05
Later in the show we shift gears and congratulate Jesse on completing Elden Ring (2022's GOTY) and Kyran talks about his early impressions for the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.

Greetings listeners!
We're back with our second episode from Joel's new set up (so that might explain if we sound a bit different, he's still getting everything set up) and boy is it one that we've been waiting a long time to do.
First up we've got a Quest Log where Joel touches on a couple of games he checked out from Steam Next Fest, including I Am Your Best and Dungeon Clawler, before Kyran breaks down how his enjoyment of Destiny 2 has been revitalised with the release of The Final Shape.
SPOILERS FOR FINAL SHAPE'S FINAL MISSION FROM 0:32:23 TO 0:37:18
Meanwhile in Dope or Nope we have a new Nintendo Direct to work our way through and it just so happens to be the one we've been waiting for. Metroid Prime 4 officially resurfaced with a fancy new subtitle 'Beyond', as well as a new Mario & Luigi game (Brothership) and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom (finally Zelda is playable). Needless to say that we were shocked after how much Nintendo was playing down the Direct when they said it had no Switch 2 announcements, turns out it never even needed it!

On this week's episode we desperately try to sift through the many video game showcases that took place over the weekend (which is also why the episode is a day late) and we've put together a list of several games across the many presentations that caught our attention.
We picked from Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest presentation, the Xbox showcase, PC Gaming Show, Devolver Digital's Showcase, Wholesome Games Direct, Future of Games, Future Games Show, and the Day of the Devs.
Our lists are only scratching the surface of how many good games were shown, so definitely go hit up some lists of announcements to find stuff that grabs you!

Greetings listeners,
Some technical issues occurred while recording this episode, hopefully I've managed to iron most of them out, but if you notice anything odd that might be the cause.
On this week's episode of the show (sorry for the delay!) Kyran is joined by his good friend, Jesse (part of footy podcast, The Falcon) to have a big discussion about Fallout.
First up Jesse and Kyran talk about a gig they both attended before Jesse begins to tempt Kyran into picking up Hades 2 (spoiler: he succeeds)
We then talk about our return to Fallout 4 as Bethesda dropped a 'next gen' patch to get the game running in better shape on PlayStation 5 and the Xbox series consoles plus we take some time to break down how we felt about the first season of the Fallout television series that recently dropped on Amazon Prime.

Joel's occupied with important life events at the moment so Kyran is roping in some old friends to talk about the games they're playing.
First up is Brendan Hill, who has been checking out Dragon's Dogma 2 with Kyran's jerk of a pawn, Bradford. He's also been terraforming planet's in Planet Crafter and dealing with dealing with arrival of hostile aliens in Terra Invicta, plus a few other games. Kyran also takes advantage of this opportunity to talk about the recently released Into The Light content pack for Destiny 2 (since Brendan is a member of his regular Fireteam) and cautiously look ahead to The Final Shape.

On this week's episode of the show we've got another Quest Log focused episode for you!
First up Joel dipped his toes in the recently (properly) released demo for the upcoming PS5 action game, Stellar Blade, and gives us the low down on how he found it. Meanwhile Kyran has been checking out Dragon's Dogma 2 and wrestles with the good and the bad of playing it.
We also have a small spoiler corner for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth where Joel talks about his recent progress before he steps away from the show for a little while for real life stuff. If you want to avoid the spoilers then skip from 1:11:59 to 1:31:28.

Greetings listeners!
On this week's episode we've got a hefty Quest Log where we break down our early impressions on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth now that we've had more time with the game. Kyran has managed to hit credits but we don't discuss anything really beyond Chapter 4 (or the Lower/Upper Junon segment of the game) so feel free to give it a listen! We do plan on doing a massive episode with full spoilers on this game at some point, but it is a huge game so it might take a while to get everyone on the same page.
We also squeeze in a Bonus Round where we touch on the newly announced Expansion Pass for Persona 3 Reload that seeks to add the content originally included in Persona 3 FES on the PS2, 'The Answer', which will be dropping in September. We also briefly chat about a new Dungeons and Dragon title on the way from the team behind Disney Dreamlight Valley and Geoff Keighley confirms that Summer Game Fest will return this June.

Greetings listeners!
We're back with another episode! Apologies for the delay, Kyran was feeling a bit under the weather last week and despite the fact that he might not sound much better this week he definitely feels better!
This week's episode is a Quest Log special where we talk about our extended time that we've spent spreading good old fashioned democracy to planets under thread in Helldivers 2, plus Joel offers his early impressions on the recent smash hit poker-based deck building roguelike, Balatro, and Kyran restrains himself from getting too excited with his early hype surrounding Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
Audacity also decided to chew up some of our audio about mid-way through the Helldivers 2 discussion so if you notice a weird jump that's the cause of it. Not some weird time-skip.
Going forward we'll also be moving back to a fortnightly rotation for the foreseeable future ahead of some big life changes for Joel and so we have more time to play games to bring on the show to talk about!

On this week's episode Kyran talks about his time with a pair of demos from the recent Steam Next Fest, Tales of Kenzera: Zau and Pacific Drive, and gets sucked into another conversation about Persona 3 Reload.
Meanwhile in the Bonus Round we talk about the recent Xbox podcast that aimed to clear up some of the confusion after more than a week of rumours about first party Xbox games going multiplatform. The result was a handful of games that will be making the jump to other platforms but not bigger ones like Starfield and Indiana Jones. They also have hardware news scheduled for later this year, announced Diablo IV for Game Pass next month, and confirmed they'll have a showcase in June.

On this week's episode we attempt to catch up on some of the game's we've been playing outside of our recording window.
First up we talk about the impossible to ignore and freshly released demo for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth which allows players to get a head start on your first playthrough as you experience the Nibelheim flashback. We also talk about Persona 3 Reload as Kyran experiences joy that Joel can finally play this PS2 classic on a modern platform in a renewed form. Then individually Joel talks about his time with Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and Kyran sings the praises of Pikmin 4.

It's time to pick our favourite games from the 2023.
It was a year jam packed with incredible games and we've managed to name our 5 favourite picks, plus we find a bit of time to offer some praise for a few honourable mentions that didn't quite make the cut.
This year is already looking pretty stacked so here's to another year of trying to survive a cataclysmic wave of content.

Greetings listeners!
We've arrived at the final episode of the show for the year! Luckily it's a massive one as we finally get a chance to tackle the 2023 Game Awards.
We spend the first part of the show running through a lot of the winners that we voted on with some discussion here and there (there weren't many surprises) and then spend the back half breaking down how we felt about the show and the many, many reveals that took place during it's run time.
We also find some time at the end to tackle some quick headlines as well.
Thanks for sticking with us this year and you'll hear from us again in 2024, a year that promises to be as interesting as this one.
Happy holidays!

Greetings listeners!
On this week's episode we make good on catching up on some Quest Log as the year draws to a close (and as we get ready for the Game Awards and GOTY season).
Joel's been plugging away at Robo Quest, a stylish FPS rogue-like that ticks a lot of the boxes on Joel's wishlist for a game, meanwhile Kyran has spent a little bit of time with the recently released Super Mario RPG remake (or remaster?) and finally has made time to give Bayonetta 3 a proper look.
We also squeeze in some Scott Pilgrim Takes Off discussion, which is not itself a video game but we'd argue connected enough to the world of gaming that we're including it anyway. We spend a bit of time talking about it spoiler free before jumping into spoilers. Check the time code below!
SCOTT PILGRIM TAKES OFF SPOILERS START AT 57:34 AND END AT 1:14:38
