This week, Henry from Keep Flying joins me to talk about their new album "Survival," the future of the band and how frustrated he is with how the COVID-19 pandemic has hurt the music industry. This is another episode I was SUPER excited to record because Keep Flying is one of my favorite bands, as well as some of my best friends. I am really proud of their new album! This week is by far my favorite episode thus far! Mike and Eli from Boys of Fall join me to celebrate their latest album, Distance. Sitting down to chat with them was truly everything I needed. The only thing missing was the Jameson shots! (Men of Fall branding coming soon, haha!) If you haven't listened to Distance yet, I'll drop the link below! Get on that! This is truly their best album to date. I am so proud of them! Make sure to share this episode with your friends and follow them on social media! xx

I start season 2 off strong by chatting with the lovely Mark Rose. Mark is a singer-songwriter from Chicago, best known as former front man of indie/emo band Spitalfield & currently as a solo artist. He also co-founded the music tech platform Downwrite, a unique space where people can connect directly with an artist to have stories and inspirations come to life in an original song.

In the final episode of season one, I decided to sit down and record a bunch of stories from myself. I delve into how I got into the music scene and what music means to me. I ramble on, sharing a collection of stories from my past and up to working with Out of Context Productions in Chicago. Unlike previous episodes, I have less of a topic/theme or guest, I wanted to really introduce myself to the listeners. I hope you enjoy!

This week, I catch up with one of my good friends from Chicago, Katie. Katie is a busy female in the Chicago music scene. She's actively in 3 bands and works with Kickstand Productions. I enjoyed catching up with her to find out how she's doing and how her various projects are going. What I love about Katie is how diverse she is and how humble she is. All her band's links will be below!

What a cool conversation this week! I was joined my the myth, the legend himself, Evan Weiss. You may know him from Into It Over It, Pet Symmetry or a collection of other projects he's been apart of. With Figure coming out in September and the pandemic pausing all gigs, we talk about how Figure came to life and the Storm Chasers Patreon.

In this episode, I sit down with my two friends, Anthony and Spence to discuss how music brings people together. We also discuss how it impacts our mental health. This episode is really what happens when 3 friends sit down together to record a podcast. It's a bit chaotic, haha! There are lots of laughs though. I I think the chaos reflects how real conversations between a group of people unfold- it's authentic. Sit back and enjoy the ride on this one!

On this week's episode, I sit down with Nina Swint. Nina is the founder of Out of Context Productions in Chicago. During my years living in Chicago, I worked with OOC running our social media and helping with the gigs. Nina moved to New York last year to start the next phase of her music career. I really enjoyed catching up with her and hearing some of her favorite memories from the OOC days plus hearing what she's up to now!

On this week's episode, Paisley and I discuss some of our fave film soundtracks. We start with Almost Famous and through the course of the episode, dive into how music in film can cause nostalgia. Music can link a song to a scene in a film in your mind and help you emotionally respond to certain scenes, characters or actions in film. We both share stories from our past that talking about music and film brings up. Share with me some of your fave film soundtracks and what they evoke for you!

On this week's episode, I am joined by Lizzie who is a co-host of the Emo Social Club podcast. We discuss our own perceptions and opinions on what qualifies as Halloween music and then the chat takes a political turn. Given the state of the world, it doesn't even come as a surprise that a Halloween or horror themed episode turns political, haha!

During this episode, I bring on one of my first friends from Chicago, Justin. During this chat, we talk about all things emo night and the emo scene in the Midwest. Through this conversation, we get to the root of why this is all so special for us and others like us. The Chicago emo scene and emo nights created a community for us, a family. It is unlike anything I've experienced anywhere in my life. We both owe so much to Chicago emo. It was fun to chat nostalgically for a bit about all the memories from those times.

On this week's episode, I have one of my oldest friends join me to discuss all things One Direction. What Jordan and I discover is that there is absolutely too much to possibly unpack in an hour's time. There was nothing weird about owning a One Direction tooth brush, what's weird is HOW much One Direction merch we owned. And we don't wish for them to fully reunite because they've done more than enough for the fans.

Here it is! The first episode of Emo Al's Tune Talks! This week, I am joined by my good friend, Sam Cowen, as we discuss the UK and US pop punk scenes. This episode really was a battle of the accents! While we both don't exactly know what is next for the scene, we are hopeful in the future of pop punk. Had so much fun recording this, hope y'all enjoy.
